There's no freaking way this would happen. Fights may occur, and groups may separate, but I'm sure as hell it wouldn't happen on the first day when everybody is still figuring out what's going on and how to address it. That's not human nature. The first thing the men would think is we have to keep people safe because there are safety in numbers if not for the goodwill of their hearts.

@@Kurogane_666 Maybe, but even from a survival perspective, the fights wouldn't start until you had a very good idea of the situation, and you wouldn't start a fight over resources in a temporary situation, because that could potentially kill you, or get you banned if at least a good part of the group didn't agree. Rescue it's still a good possibility in the first weeks, nobody would risk a fight when they may be a few days from home.

@@imaginefr Yes, but even if they think differently and aren't good people, they still have the same instincts. A fight at the beginning is risky, even if that could give you more resources in the short run, the human resource you'd be losing was worth more, there's also a good possibility that your group would become against you and ban you, there's the possibility of getting hurt, which in this circumstance could be deadly. Nobody is that dumb, and even worse an entire group.
