The fact that Tia and Mat are training partners and they are both so far ahead of their peers is scary. They are clearly doing something right at their gym!
It is one of few new safety measures in crossfit 2020, here you see the example for rope climbes: wear a helmet to protect you against insuries of a fall from the rope
It is kind of strange their inconsistency with it though. Fraser was mentioning the fact that he enjoyed the fact that there was no music in a previous event.
yeah! she also probably wouldve done well on the trail run. theres so many athletes it wouldve been fun to see in some of these specifics events. Like Sara in the weights on day 1 and Vellner in the snatch event
Agreed! And she’s going to be coming back each year stronger and smarter. She’s 19? Very composed and pays attention. Haley Adams might end up the goat like Toomey is now.
probably saving energy, he's smart, he's older than his competitors and needs to win the next event so he's not pushing his max every time if he doesn't need to, the difference by which you win doesn't count, so if you can win with 90% output instead of 99% then you'll be better off going into thr next event, he's got a lot of experience and Shane must be a great coach to have two champions under his wing, they know what they'e doing :)
Imagine going to a "CrossFit" trainer for the first time and they tell you(in a Bro Like voice) "ride my bike and climb this rope for 8 reps. Oh and don't worry dude, this is a Games event!"
Don't get me wrong- I am a fan of Brooke Wells. I think she is a great competitor and an absolute freak athlete. That being said, the 2020 games definitely exposed her weaknesses. I am excited to see how she does in 2021.
I count 5 seconds between when Mat finished and Adler came up for the hi-five after he was done. How is there a 13 second gap between their finishes?? I mean the places are all that matter, but they were definitely both sub-13 minutes.
Yeah. It’s a tight turn but it seems like none have them have seen a cross race before. I would have love to have seen Matt put his elbows down on the bar in a TT position. Would have been such a vibe.
Yeah I might have missed the event explanation, but I was wondering what the rules were. Same with where they are setting their bikes next to the rope rig.
What a power house that Tia. The difference when she runs to the rope and jumps up and is already halfway. Then her climbing is so fast and light. If you look at her arms if doesn't show that much effort but she keeps her angle so perfect so the strength you need is much less than climbing on pure strength.
Literally the Toomey is killing them on the transition onto the bike lmao .. everyone else is sitting on the bike and THEN peddling, such a waste of energy building up the initial speed on grass
Matt needs something more than this. This is a game for him. Same with Tia. They should make a harder type of Crossfit Games for people like them. I'm sure there's someone out there better than Matt and Tia.
oh the announcers... Those are not smaller than mt. bike tires. The reason they are called hybrid is because the bike is not a traditional mt. bike or road bike, it is a hybrid that is made for good road efficiency and also performs well on dirt trails. The only other reason could be the 27.5 size vs. 26 or 29 inch rim on the wheel which is sometimes called hybrid because it is a mix between the 26'' tire that allows for ease in turning and maneuverability control and the 29'' which is key for cruising over big obstacles at high speed and overall bike balance control.
Bret Bullard could be he was referring to the width of the tire. The narrower size makes it easier for the road, has less aggressive tread etc. Not sure, but I hope that’s what he was referring to haha!
Adler wants to win this one since he lost in Event 7 which he was suppose to look back and look down on Fraser. The only event he won by 7 lbs lead was his impressive deadlift. The rest boohoo for him
why are they getting off the bike while making the turn? Aren´t they not allowed to stay on bike or is it because of the the angle? Nevertheless this event is kinda awkward. Feels like something´s missing like another exercise...
anyone else feel weird that Vellner isn't here?...seems odd having competition for the title of "World Fittest Man" and not having easily the second fittest man on earth competing...
They might as well just engrave Mat and Tia's names on first place trophies before the competition each year... Side note, these guys are beasts. I made a vid learning to do muscle ups, can't imagine how much work it takes to get to their level
Poor Bill didn't get this event right " It's all bike and Katrin" turned out to be the rope and almost anyone BUT Katrin and Haley is not a kid at 18 she qualifies as an adult -- I'm sure Bill will improve or he'll finish last
The difference between riding styles of the men vs the girls is hilarious to me. Brake-sliding the turn-arounds and pedaling like angry badgers! Haha! You can see the difference testosterone makes. Our (male) childhoods were so much more "extreme" and competitive. LOL
I cant believe how world level athletes do not know how to jump on bicycle in an efficient way. Most of them almost stop and then they cave to pedal up from stand still. Loosing at least 2 seconds every time. and they seem not to use speed shifting once they come to turning point from looks of how difficult it seem to accelerate.
Do the commentators know how a bicycle works and how you are supposed to use one? Since when is changing gears difficult? That’s just how you ride a bike.
I think when the documentary comes out for these games it should be called 'The Crossfit Games 2020: the battle for 2nd place'
Lmao
😂
Nah crossfit games 2020: on the juice
Will there be a doco for this one
😂
Women start time 16:30
Men start time 46:26
Thank you
👍
Thank you!!!!
You're the real champ.
Uhg it takes so long but thanks bro
The fact that Tia and Mat are training partners and they are both so far ahead of their peers is scary. They are clearly doing something right at their gym!
That extra gear Mat has is extraordinary! True champion.
Can’t say that I’ve ever seen anyone doing rope climbs with a bike helmet on before. Interesting event
It is one of few new safety measures in crossfit 2020, here you see the example for rope climbes: wear a helmet to protect you against insuries of a fall from the rope
“Too soon junior.” -Matt Frazier #fastandfurious 😂🤣
I love the addition of the music. From a viewer's point of view it definitely makes things alot more exciting
It is kind of strange their inconsistency with it though. Fraser was mentioning the fact that he enjoyed the fact that there was no music in a previous event.
I would have loved to see Sam Briggs run this event
She would've killed it 🙌
yeah! she also probably wouldve done well on the trail run. theres so many athletes it wouldve been fun to see in some of these specifics events. Like Sara in the weights on day 1 and Vellner in the snatch event
Jamie Greene usually does really well with running events as well
Haley smashin it! If she works on her strength as much as she has her cardio then she can win this thing for sure.
Agreed! And she’s going to be coming back each year stronger and smarter. She’s 19? Very composed and pays attention. Haley Adams might end up the goat like Toomey is now.
Loving the old skool hip hop tunes 😜🤣
The scary part is Matt must be dogging it through most of these events. When he realized Adler was even with him he just took off.
probably saving energy, he's smart, he's older than his competitors and needs to win the next event so he's not pushing his max every time if he doesn't need to, the difference by which you win doesn't count, so if you can win with 90% output instead of 99% then you'll be better off going into thr next event, he's got a lot of experience and Shane must be a great coach to have two champions under his wing, they know what they'e doing :)

Hmmm. Probably value of the property goes up too.

Imagine going to a "CrossFit" trainer for the first time and they tell you(in a Bro Like voice) "ride my bike and climb this rope for 8 reps. Oh and don't worry dude, this is a Games event!"
Is me or the sound went off?
Copyright I think
@@ferry4967 yeah the video was taken down earlier due to a Sony copyright claim.
Oh okay I thought it was me - thanks guys
Damn, Haley is impressive. I think this event what was important was the rope climb and consistent bike pedalling...
Anyone didn’t notice that Adler finished in 12:56 and it said he finished at 13:07. Like wtf
Tias endurance though. Jeez
Don't get me wrong- I am a fan of Brooke Wells. I think she is a great competitor and an absolute freak athlete. That being said, the 2020 games definitely exposed her weaknesses. I am excited to see how she does in 2021.
Same thing with Noah Ohlsen... more show than go
I count 5 seconds between when Mat finished and Adler came up for the hi-five after he was done. How is there a 13 second gap between their finishes?? I mean the places are all that matter, but they were definitely both sub-13 minutes.
after 7 events we can conclude that the timing is not reliable :D
Yeah I think the times up top might be unofficial but yeah idk
But they should have fixed it by the time they showed at the end but I guess not
Yeah, the difference was closer to 3 seconds than 13 seconds. It shoulda been 12:57, not 13:07
Just Crossfit basically.. They screw these things up regularly for whatever reason
Is something wrong with the sound around 25:00?
Same happened to me!
Someone said copyright claim
No one talking about how Tia runs like 10 yards before getting on the bike?
Its just because technically running would he slower than biking so ig its allowed
I admire Adams. She's so young and almost the same age as me! I tried to do CrossFit but I can't do barbell snatches and I'm so bad at aerobics
Thank y'all for putting urban culture in y'all events
Interesting to see that the women prefer to walk their bikes around a tight U-turn and the men stay on their bikes and skid them around
Yeah. It’s a tight turn but it seems like none have them have seen a cross race before. I would have love to have seen Matt put his elbows down on the bar in a TT position. Would have been such a vibe.
Typical dudes on bikes ( like when your young boy's life their tricks lol ) Women do it safer lol

Adler got 12:56 in the 8 event. They get 13:07. Some seconds are important!!
Noticed that too!
Literally the Toomey is killing them on the transition onto the bike lmao .. everyone else is sitting on the bike and THEN peddling, such a waste of energy building up the initial speed on grass

The difference between Fraser and Adler in the finish time wasn’t that much
ua-cam.com/video/pB-bN-RkJLM/v-deo.html
WIN is WIN, NO MATTER WHAT
Probably due to Adler's body/limb length, Fraser is slower up the rope b/c he's shorter
What happened to J. Adler's time? He finished in 12.56, right behind M. Fraser but the counter states 13.07... Look @59:22
Saw that too! No clue Why so, tho 🤷🏼♀️ he definitely finished up before 13’; cheaters
Matt needs something more than this. This is a game for him. Same with Tia. They should make a harder type of Crossfit Games for people like them. I'm sure there's someone out there better than Matt and Tia.

I really like her but she’s super inconsistent.
As gorgeous as she is, she can take a stroll anywhere and I won't mind
Sure that grass is hard as heck tooedal through 🙄😂
Why is the leader uniform white and red...but the leader is displayed with blue and white during comp??
Red, white and blue like the logo maybe? It is super weird - great obersvation!

It’s awesome. I really enjoyed seeing mat almost getting his butt kicked by jeffrey 🤣

Why do they wear a helmet on a straight bike sprint on grass but nothing when throwing 200lbs+ above their heads?

Bien joué adler
Yay ! Alder
one wonders how much gear is being taken here
A lot. They are ALL on gear and it's so funny. Natural athletes don't need to take this circus serious
why are they getting off the bike while making the turn? Aren´t they not allowed to stay on bike or is it because of the the angle? Nevertheless this event is kinda awkward. Feels like something´s missing like another exercise...
some of them need a better bike fit!
What I was coming to say. Noah in particular looked to be sitting real low.
58:38 looks like Adler is riding in soft grass , harder to ride on .
Lane 1 had such an advantage because of the grass. Dead grass is easier to travel over. Lane 5 had the biggest disadvantage.
But neither tia or mat were in lane 1
@@vascotita4268 I don't think it made that big of a difference. I just know that grass can really be a drag on a bike.
Why did Toomey have a different bike from the others? Shouldn't they all be the same?
the bike r rly good. wat brand?
Trek bikes
Fausto Vignatelli oh thx :)
Is it a rule to get off the bike? because in my opinion you can make that turnen without getting off the bike
Why would they need suspention on a flat course, and most of all why would they have it opened? Lots of watts waisted there...
I like the idea of this event though it was a bit boring to watch...
Looks like Glenn Buterol is still the best overall athlete
😂😂😂
Haha, their traps give it away. This is such a circus, healthy natty athletes don't need to to take this serious
Yeah, Crossfit is kinda fun to watch but I can't take it really serious
The men didn't get off their bikes going into the turn. Why?
Gogo tia gogo katrin! Gogo frazer!
Katrin she never transfer the final gear in bicycle, she pedals more than the tia.
Something is wrong with the sound
Noah had his seat way too low, maybe too much glute action needed
anyone else feel weird that Vellner isn't here?...seems odd having competition for the title of "World Fittest Man" and not having easily the second fittest man on earth competing...
If he was the second fittest man on Earth he would be there...
Rumour has it they forced Matt Fraser into retirement so people could consider this a competition again.
Who’s that in the black on black holding the Baby? Her Quads 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Where'd the sound go?
In the grass!
Make Josh Bridges a commentator please. That would be bad ass.
Why didn't they use cyclocross bikes?
