The Pirates of the Caribbean reference was Jack saying "Eunuchy-nuchy!" and "Eunuchy. Snip-snip." to the cannibals that made him their chief about Will Turner. Jack makes fun of Will by calling him a eunuch starting from their first fight in the forge and then throughout the movies. Funny enough it was an ad-libbed joke that just stuck and became a reoccurring joke.

If you're out of arrows and don't have access to a bird nest (usually out and about when not in base), it's real easy to get feathers by just throwing the little pebbles at birds. Or spears.
