The theme tune still sends shivers down me. As an 8-10 year old it signified an hour of unbearable boredom on an already tedious Sunday afternoon.
This..... yup
I was addicted to this programme due to the theme, the titles, the studio set + Brian and Mary, as these were good time at one-time London Weekend Television 📺.
Sunday dinner on the cooker, Windows all steamed up,bugger all to do because cause it's Sunday afternoon and its p%$sing down outside.
Then Weakened World starts, time to crank up the volume on the Granada Rental tv set and rock out🎸🎸🥁🥁🥁🥁 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Now that's what you call intro music.....
I only recently found out its fro. the middle of a song!

This must've been getting close to the time after when the announcers would only ever refer to the compamy as 'LWT'; use of the clock would soon be phased-out; the tumbling 3D CGI logo (or still of it) saying simply 'LWT' would be introduced for voiceovers, etc; and I also recall that the production company credits in TV Times were also abbreviated from 'London Weekend Television Production' to 'LWT Production'.
All of that was upto a year (or a bit more) ahead of the full new-look from late-August 1986.
Ah, Nantucket Sleighride followed by 60 minutes of tedium.
My late father worked at LWT and I went a few times to the studious and outside broadcasts. One was a Weekend World OB and Brian was there, he was a really nice guy and he was showing me his side of the work. They were a great company swallowed by an awful one, Granada.
Granada was a great company before Gerry Robinson took over as manager in 1991…
