After watching this I realize I have dealt with first daughter syndrome my whole life. Even though I am the only child, I am always being held responsible for everything and when I don’t do something perfectly, it always seem like I am irresponsible. My dad has also never hit me but I went to hide in the wardrobe in the guest room because I was scared shitless. My sister fell from our verandah on the first floor to the ground floor when I was supposed to be watching her. I went to meet my mum at the staircase shouting that I've killed her child so she'll kill me too. Thank God nothing happened to my sister.

This first child/first daughter syndrome is a real thing and I could relate to Dimma but i saw the light like FK said..saying NO is the best way, just simply refusing to do things that you are being mandated and put yourself first always mehn..it works fr !
That conversation ,they had about first children i felt the pain returning of denying me things because i was the first child ,i mean i had to understand, to know better to always be an adult.... lately its my faith that has helped to forget ,and it hurts when both your parents are last borns they don't understand they just transfer their expectations from their own firstborns from their families to you.... i promised i will do better for my own first child
It really wasn't always childrening enough for first daughters. I remember telling my friends I never saw Lion King as a child, all my siblings did and she asked me what i was doing with my childhood. It's just a lot of responsibility for the first daughter. I have an older brother but anytime my mom was leaving the house, she'd ask me to look after my siblings. It was the moment I wanted to play my mom calls me to attend to one chore or the other. Omo! I missed out on childhood a lot. Being born as a first daughter is an automatic responsibility
