Hey, I'm yet to lube a chain on my motorcycle, but lubed plenti bike chains before and I know the best practice is to spray it on the part that is closest to the ground so you're spraying the inside of the chain. That way when you're spinning the wheel by hand, or while riding, it forces it towards the outside. If its sprayed on the outside like you did, a good chunk of it will get thrown off.

I was able to get the products I used for free but when I run out I’m going to use that myself
