I could never understand why analog or digital synths cannot bypass the filter and go on to the amp/envelope and amp? We could have a switch next to each level control of the mixer and have some oscillators filtered and other not. It would add highly contrasted oscillators to the mix, instead of having them all filtered down. Something the Gaia (original) was capable of doing.
It’s simply the noise floor of the signal. The spectrum analyser is always trying to bring the audio signal to a usable level for the graphic. In doing so it is boosting the noise floor.

There is a 'pass though" section in the menu for drive. Not sure what that does.
By using it, the signal path is bypassing the drive.
