Let's journey together!
My first ever ride in a Matatu was along that road from Nairobi. I managed to get the front seat. Big mistake on my part !!! I was so scared and jumpy at the way the guy drove it. I eventually told myself to calm down, go with the flow and enjoy the ride. The song I remember that was playing was: "Let your living water flow over my soul. Let your Holy Spirit come and take control." God was giving me a message I think. I did enjoy that trip and I have loved Kenya ever since.
Thanks David... This my region meru county
Its a beautiful part of Kenya Doreen.
@@David_Owsnett next time use kensilver express..those minibuses are excellent tour the greater meru region. Our people are incredible
I dont think Kenyans fully realise what a wonderful country they have. The majestic scenery. The contrast of the red earth to the green trees and plants. The potential of Kenya and her people is awesome.
We are truly blessed if only make our politics right and fix the corruption, we are destined for greatness.
Exactly
Absolutely u appreciate whn u move to another country thn u realize wat a beautiful I left behind ❤❤❤
Was so scared when I was called to chuka University. Now I feel so proud to be associated with it ..
This brings back a lot of memories, being a chuka university student from 2015-2019, travelling all the way from Homa-Bay to this place for 4 years was so beautiful. This very same place saw me transform from a little boy to the responsible man that I am today. Chuka University is one of those universities that have rapidly grown in the country in terms of infrastructure. Well, I still miss the place to date. I will definitely take a road trip back to chuka soon
Miss chuka beautiful place went school there nw live in UK bt no place like home❤
Some people are just hating on Mt Kenya. Our towns are not as big due to various reasons:
1) In Central Kenya, we have very many small towns that are close to each other, thus the towns cannot really grow to huge cities.
- Kiambu - Ruiru (19 Kms)
- Ruiru - Thika (20 Kms)
- Kikuyu - Limuru (20 Kms)
- Thika - Muranga (47 Kms)
- Murang'a - Karatina (37 Kms)
- Karatina - Nyeri (25 Kms)
- Embu - Karatina (55 Kms)
- Embu - Chuka (44 Kms)
- Chuka - Meru (55 Kms)
Just to name a few.
2) Proximity to Nairobi,
- Guys can simply rush to Nairobi without a huge hustle, unlike the Western region. Nairobi has greatly hindered the growth of towns, especially in Kiambu county. They have simply become Nairobi estates.
Yes, our towns need polishing, they look disorganised compared to Kakamega, but they are simply small towns. You have to understand that some politicians have brainwashed guys into thinking that Central is paradise. No, it is not. In fact, there are some people who think that Equity bank distributes money to the Mt Kenya folks. Please travel and have an open mind.
Also, these are the biggest towns in Mt Kenya region: Thika, Meru and Nyeri. (Am not sure whether to include Nakuru here as the majority of guys in Nakuru town are Kikuyus). When you are comparing Kakamega or Kisii, use Thika, Nyeri or Meru. If you want to compare Chuka, why don't you use Keroka?
Thanks.
So true
It's magical Kenya, every area is unique and beautiful
Wow! Chuka town has grown big, beautiful and look so modern. Thanks African Traveller
Karibu sana.
Beautiful place. I lived in Kenya from 2001-2003 as a Peace Corps volunteer. I loved Chuka!
Enjoyed ! From Michigan USA
I just recently took my family on vacation to meru and the drive there was scenic and towns like chuka were very vibrant and grown.
That chuka university is a marvel.
I was surprised by the size of the university. The sceneries along the road are just beautiful.
Nice video as usual. Hope Chuka town planners can take a hint from Chuka University of how buildings should look like.
Thank you African traveller.. Am proud of my origin meru county....
Chuka is not in Meru County
thanks Afrikan Traveller, this video was both enjoyable and informative. I have been watching a lot of your videos during this lockdown and it has really opened my eyes to the beauty of Kenya. Love and support from Manchester - your Zim sister.
So glad the Videos are serving the purpose 🙏🙏🙏.
Chuka hills I traveled this route to meru hizo bends the driver can't afford to be carelss, and I can say Kenya is beautiful, I wonder how we came up with the narrative that better and good life is found in the city?? We must change our perspective.. The government should come up with plan to reduce rural to urban migration.. Me I chose to live in a small town of Nakuru, Nanyuki where there a space for growth,
This town definitely has potential, some notable decent real estate coming up but I have issues with the county government when it comes to the physical planning of the town, no pedestrian walks and road markings. Love the greenery side of it though.
Year, I noticed the downside as well.
Beautiful. Thank you. I have never been to Meru but I like what I see. You do a great job.
Another beautiful road trip and bird's-eye view! Your content is so satisfying to watch. Thanks so much for sharing! 🙏🏾
Thank you.
Funny always share and discuss but never thought of liking due to excitement.
But subscribed, I liked this one 👍🏻👍🏿
Appreciate.
Woooooooooow, chuka is really big... Thanks for sharing
Karibu Sana Bro.
Chuka University looks great, even better than some of the better known universities
Nice job. I guess your next stop will be Nkubu town and then Meru town. I would be glad to see the footage of more of eastern kenya towns.
Was attending an event in Chuka, WIll plan for Nanyuki, Timau,, Isiolo and Meru. In the near future.
Sometimes I find these areas with sloppy lands very fascinating. If only they could find very good planners, experienced architects, engineers they could get very beautiful unique and modern buildings. Places like Embu really looks like a total mess!Chuka looks much better I think it’s because of the university.
Exactly Chuka is better than embu.
Thanks to the university the town looks better.
The video brings back memories of my four years at Chuka university. It would be a surprise to many that up to 2012-2013 most of our classes were in wooden classrooms and all roads around except for the Meru highway were untarmacked. Compared to other universities such as Meru and Kirinyaga that were chartered around the same period one can tell the leadership difference.
Sound like Chuka has transformed within a short period of time.
Spent 4 years high school in Meru in the 90s. Used to pass Chuka, Great friends there to date.
The university where ladies and gentlemen are made ..i ,mean the only prophetic university in kenya .am proud of my school .
Chuka has GROWN!!!!! OMG this was a banana market not so long ago
It's growing very fast indeed.
A place I call home. I always enjoy every moment here
Yet another great one from Kenya the beautiful
Thank you.
Woooow thanks for taking me through the home of my wife its been a minute since i went there blessed bro

I'm walalo..I enjoyed it , especially the words of song , or poetry, didn't understand a word but I really enjoyed it..thanks I love meru people
Appreciate sana Bro
one love bro
Really love your choice of music,,local grown ass music with real content and beats.no gwatiology shirrr
Thank you.
Heyyyy the name Chuka is soooooo IGBO!!! So many Nigerian type names in Kenya. Like Nairobi is like Ny-Obi. Moyale, Njuko/Njuki is also Igbo. I notice that Nigerians get DNA traces in that area. However, I find so many of their words amongst Zim, Zambia, and Kenya...I can go on.
We are one people, Bantus from the Congo region
Wow!!! This very interesting to know the similarities.
@@AfrikanTraveller Yeah, I see so many West African names in the other parts of Africa. It's so amazing. For instance Ngozi is an Igbo name but a place in Rwanda. Like Nandi is Nnamdi in Nigeria. There are so many words and names that are the same. Chukwu is God in Igbo as well as Chi.
Thanks for sharing.
@@MrCAHRLIE22 wrong history, we didn't come from Congo.
@@blackpharaoh3325 where did we come from?
Edit:- looked it up again and it says West Africa, cameroon area.
Loving the drone shots! Tunaona Mandizi tu
Holy hell, that meru song intro at 6:02 made me jump in fright 😂😂😂 is it a battle cry?
😂😂😂😂😂 Iza bana.
Mostly sang during initiation ceremonies.
Edit: They are ritual songs.
Finally!!my home town💪🏾
It's really chilly though!!
It's also a nice town.
This central towns are nice but streets a lil bit dusty,, i guess its because of red volcanic soil or something?? Just wondering
I also remember when my friend Henry and I alighted along the way to wait for a lift in a friends car to his in laws house. We waited at a "cafe" at the side of the road. There was a group of boys there watching me. So I thought this would be a good time to practise my Swahili. I used up ALL my Swahili on them but they didnt seem to understand a word I said. I thought whats wrong with me? Why cant I make anyone understand what I am saying? Then one of them came up to me and said in English. "Hey white man. Give me some money". What do you think I did?
You really do your research.
Yes I have too, thank you.
STILL THE BEST IN AFRICA!
HAVE THAT 1ST AWARD COME?
It will come at it's own time.

Seems all mount Kenya towns have poor planning!!!
All the planners went to Nairobi kutafuta job lol! Nairobi is a serious brain drain for Mt Kenya.
@@brayo144 Yeah Nairobi planning too at some point is wanting!

Truth be said, this town is poorly planned, poorly maintained, and dirty. Nevertheless, the climate is great they need to engage in forestry.
Truth be told ,,,,, It's a town btwn towns ,,,, stop judging so fast ,,,, enjoy the vid ,,,, Gosh
It's actually a town..not a city
