1.8 pvp takes a bit to catch on to, especially if u used to do 1.9+, and I would recommend doing these two modes to help: build uhc and OP, because they teach you to rod, use speed, heal while taking minimal damage, use fire, and buckets all in one
I’m going through a bunch of my favorite videos from a while ago and this series was great to rewatch. It’s a shame how much uhc has fallen off as of late but I still love the older videos of it like these.
8:06 I am one of the people that have worked on the plugins, it's just the anti-xray being more aggresive with diamonds. Packets are spoofed when sending out "what block it is" so your client thinks it's all STONE, then when you get close enough and you have line of sight, we stop spoofing said packages. They're not spreading, you can even right click them to initialize a block update and they will still be diamonds. They never spread, that's just stupid.
Well did you code the same exact plugin that hypixel uses? I have played on servers with similar plugins, and what you're saying is how they work but i'm telling you it's not the same on hypixel. You could see clearly in this video that i broke a block into the diamonds and there was stone above the one, and it did not update to diamonds, and even if I were to right click it or mine it would have stayed as stone. It did not change until I placed a block beside it and then mined. I have even played 2 UHC games where I was on the same seed twice, and I mined the same diamonds twice, yet the veins were different. The thing is, the developer point of view is totally different from the Players, I had many people tell me about things that conflict with my code because I didn't pay enough attention, so I thought you might be right but: - Have played a lot of UHC and seen this happen many times here is **This** video Even in this video, there's no concrete proof that diamond ore "spreads", that is just a placeboo effect, I will try and create a plugin for you that mimics what hypixel is doing, so that you can see what I'm talking about, just spoofing packets when sent to the player, it's a rather simple but effective anti x-ray method - How did the diamonds not update from you breaking the block Now this is a completely justifiable concern, but you can see that the ore blocks are poping in all the time, without getting block updates, the anti-xray is fully custom and doesn't only take into account block updates, it actually looks more for WHAT your face can see, updating it is just another event trigger for it to check for that. In the next UHC please give it a go and right click around diamond ore especially and see if it does update, or place and break a block next to "stone" Why I am saying this is rather stupid is because it would make absolutely no sense to do that, not to mention that it does take time to add these kinds of "features" in, my best guess is that either the packets are being spoofed and you are only experiencing a nice placebo, or that there's a really big bug in code somewhere. As mentioned above, I will look into publishing a spoofing plugin so that you can run it yourself if you'd like to, so that you can see what I'm talking about and where I'm coming from, I'll upload it to github so that anyone can take a look at the code as well. On the subject of caving, the other day I was in a uhc and got an 15 VEIN OF DIAMONDS. I didn't even know the stone trick at that time, and it was all one vein. Of course I didnt win that game, I'm not that good, but I still did really well. I also want to say thanks to scotteh for doing these videos, I was getting into uhc because of people like him and especially 0hdm, and then BOOM perfect timing, he starts this low star series. TYSM scotteh! One more thing, scotteh is probably one of the best uhc players, and even with all his crafts and stuff he still loses. Everyone does. When starting uhc, my goal right now is not to win, just to get a few kills and increase in skill. Don't be discouraged if ur not winning, just try to have fun and be encouraged by things like getting a good clean, doing the right things, actually winning a fight fair and square, etc. I'm really not very good, but I know I can improve, and so can you! Remember, we can together bring uhc back into the light, and anyone can learn how to be a decent player!

Scotteh I’ve been pvping forever and I feel like it would really help if u infinite rod so if you throw ur rod out and switch to like ur sword it takes no dura since in that first game ur rod almost broke and rods only have 63 dura that’s nothing

Always mine for diamonds at y=11 because statistically that’s the level most diamonds spawn at. Second is y=12, then y=10. That’s why you see so many people mining at those three levels.

To gain exp from the feed the void challenge, i usually /duel my friends and ask them just to let me knock them off, and it gives a lot of exp for not much work
Tip: Use your rod and instantly take out your sword, dont pull back your rod, it only wastes more time and the durability of the rod decreases very fast. With this method you will not even lose 1 durability

He makes two to get the entire vein, and combines it because the last mine of philos isnt fortuned so they just combine and use the diamond pick out
