I remember having some olives soaked in balsamic vinegar as an appetiser in a restaurant. The taste was sublime. Even after having the main course I still couldn't get the taste out of my mouth.
Great video, very informative and I was super happy they showed how basic balsamic vinegar is made and not only the super fancy stuff no one can afford.
I live in the states. There is a restaurant where I live that is known for their Pizza which to me is just ok. What I go there for is their Balsamic Vinegarette dressing on top of a House salad. The pizza is secondary.
@@oomy8757 yes.. but still they need to have a minimum amount of sugar content for them to be used in making balsamic vinegar.. that means very sour grapes cannot be used
@@mellowyellow360 Balsamic vinegar has a very acidic, bitter and sweet taste, it's kind of hard to explain, just note that unlike other types of vinegar it can be eaten with fruits and desserts too!

So the grapes shown here are purple, yet supposedly balsamic is made of Trebbiano, a white grape. Is this just stock footage or actual grapes from the production of balsamic vinegar?
This isn’t real balsamic. It’s the fake stuff. A real and authentic balsamic vinegar has only the grape must which is Trebbiano grapes cooked down to just the right amount of syrup. After that a little bit of older balsamic vinegar is added to it and it sits in wooden barrels anywhere from 2 years to 50 years. The Traditional balsamic vinegars are classified as such after being aged in wooden barrels at least for 12 years and then they are awarded points in blind taste tastes.
From my recent researching of balsamic vinegar, it seems to be this video is disingenuous. Real "tradizionale" balsamic vinegar should have zero wine vinegar added to it.

I was lucky enough to get a private tour of a small producer back in 2014 and tried one aged for 50 years, all I can say was WOW!!!
Great video, very informative and I was super happy they showed how basic balsamic vinegar is made and not only the super fancy stuff no one can afford.
If its not from Modena its not balsamico. It is liquid garbage.
Wonder how they stay in business if no one can afford it 🤔
I just bought a bottle of this and put it over a salad and it was delicious. Now Im marinating a cucumber overnight for breakfast. I love vinegar
All you need for proper insalata is good quality Olive oil, Balsamico from Modena and lettuce. Simple is better
It's fake, real one is too expensive

No roots. Stems and leaves are perfectly safe. Not poisonous and contains tannins
Roots? They're spriggs from grapes there's no roots
