I am so obsessed with this team. If I hadn’t been introduced to DD on tv and UA-cam, and saw than Cam joined this team I would not have known about these talented young women and this style of dance. Thank you for enlightening me! I just can’t get enough!
They shouldn't fuss over their hair while the ladies are in motion. That looks so tacky and it breaks their concentration. Take care of all that in the dressing room. But overall ladies, you did a phenomenal job out there!

All you guys criticizing need to get out there on the field and dance in the 100 degree heat. My guess is none of you are in the shape these girls are in and wouldn't last 5 minutes in the bleachers, much less on the field! Also, ever march in a full band uniform in this kind of heat or in the Stock Show Parade behind the horses? No? Then zip it. Myself? All I see is gorgeous!
Blah blah blaaaaaaah ........ we more pissed at the shady ass sponsors of anything I don’t think no ones reall upset with the squad yeah squad selection that was chosen by sponsors but not directly at the girls biiiiig difference
The team does seem to be subpar when compared to the 16 and 17 teams. It's early so things can be improved but don't criticize our opinions of the team. Sometime doll news isn't always good new.
Interesting that u base your comment on fitness and beauty. As a long time supporter of both the Band and the Dolls, I'll say again I'm not impressed with this years squad (Dolls). That opinion is based on the excellence those of us who are true fans and supporters have come to expect from them. Does that mean they wont fix the obvious lack of cohesion and excitement. No, But I certainly don't deny beauty and fitness.
No, I don't base my opinion on looks and fitness alone. I also think they are talented and incredibly determined to be able to do what they do and go to school. Look, I'm just a fan, not an insider to the politics that others are privileged to that must be incredibly discouraging to these girls if they read and hear these comments. I just happen to think they're great, but I'm just an old white lady from TCU who has been watching them for years.
Plus, let's remember these girls are in school first, and Dancing Dolls second. They work hard to be entertaining for us while going to school, so I just don't have it in my heart to compare them to past squads when it isincredibly hard just to do this.
Gabby Dixon could be a clone of Lynn Whitfield as Roz Batiste in Eve's Bayou. Her facial expressions, mannerisms, and aesthetic. Roz was a beautiful and confident elegant yet stern woman. She rarely smiled like Gabby, but when she did it was GORGEOUS, like Gabby. Since the movie is a classic, 21 years old, and it was set in the 1960s LOUISIANA depicting affluent black people, and the Bayou Classic is a major event for the dolls, I think they could do a Eve's Bayou theme. Gabby's Bayou. I like it! The dolls are known for their elegance, grace, and style and Lynn/Roz and Debbie/Mozelle had some iconic looks in that movie.

Babygirl from New Orleans is STRUTTING. Okay! I want Gabby to loosen up. She’s always been tight but now it’s extremely noticeable bc she’s in the front. Taneria and Micah were giving me life as usual. And Cammie is adapting extremely well. I’m not surprised tho, she’s been working at this.
Arielle looks amazing right out the gate. The other crab just needs to loosen up and she'll be fine. Overall they look good, hope they excel this season. Why am I getting classic toned down Doll vibe from them? It's not a bad thing, I think. After two years with Dannie...whooh chile, I've been spoiled.
I think her stiff upper body and her hips moving is the control you’re supposed to have when properly performing jazz technique. The abs need to be engaged all the time in order to control your body and properly do the turns and kicks. She looks like a professional dancer with the right amount of control, technique, and stylized sexiness.
Can someone explain where all the other girls went...I Know Dani graduated, where is Melody Byrd and Tailyn, and how did they formulate the new Dolls?
I know Camryn received a scholarship, but do they have to try out as well?
I've enjoyed Micah and Taneria, Killa Cam will be just fine. I don't recognize the tail, Gabby will hopefully loosen up. xo
SIS TV Network Everyone has to try out. So yes Camryn had to try out and she made the team fair and square along with her crab sis Airielle.
Melody was cut at auditions. We don’t know why.
Jordan and Tailyn made it but quit bc Gabby was asked to be captain over one of them.
They felt disrespected bc they were overlooked.
Jordan was also told she would be captain and she led for the spring season. So it was kind of a slap in her face.

Whew Chile! So much hate were given to these beautiful black queens on yesterday. It takes courage and strength to get out there and do what they did. We can’t continue to tear these ladies down. They worked hard to get to where they are. Encourage them and not discourage them! They’re the ones with dancing credentials, not us! I know I can’t get my a** out there and dance. I honestly feel that the dislike for this squad as a whole is sourced in the fact that 15’ is no longer apart of it, leaving us not to have the captain/tail duo we expected so much.The whole organization took a lot of hits so at least give them the benefit of the doubt. Gabby will do wonders with the proper direction I feel and I hope the online commentary is not making her doubtful. There is always room for improvement and I’m pretty sure this will be a great season for the dolls.
I love how the crabs blended in. Airelle looks great!!! Cam looks great as well! They all adjusted pretty good! Impressive for crabs. This is gonna be a good season for ‘18!💛

Some of the Doll fans are really just haters because they are not and do not understand what it means to be a leader of any group especially a dance line. Stop trying to tear them apart because they are like a sisterhood. You can’t break them. If your parent/guardian/teacher/disciplinarian didn’t teach you, learn it now! If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. They are all amazing dancers and bring one unison style but unique personality and talent to the team. As for ‘15, they helped mold and shaped these same dancers on this team. Forever Dolls exist because no matter what happens along the way, once a Doll, forever a Doll.
Gabby, girl dance your heart out. This isn’t a time to dance for them girl. You dance for yourself and your team. I’m loving you in this new position and your sisters are supporting you 100%. Kaylon (tail) is going to be someone to look out for this year along with Jada and Cam! But Kaylon for sure. Her dancing has always been it for me but you definitely can see her growth since her crab year last year.

To D’Tara, April and the Interim Band director; I will forever support the dolls because I grew up watching them from an early age but I know y’all read these comments and I just want to know what were you all thinking?? Letting Jordan assume the role as acting Captain at the beginning of 2018 to not only take it away from her but then not give it to the two other young ladies that came before 16 i.e., Tailyn or Mel, is just a slap in the face. God doesn’t operate in confusion and you all know that none of this is right because all three of them were extremely talented. No shade to Gabby but how are you going to have four years of straight fire then revert back to this? It’s very evident that the tryouts were not based on talent but rather based on favoritism. Now don’t get me wrong, I am and always will be a Stamper fan, so I love her crabs but 15 was next in line and they were straight fire as well. D’Tara, all of your crabs finished together. Why are you being this way with these younger girls, I just don’t get. All you had to do was tell Jordan to pull it back, ease it up a little, if y’all were looking for that traditional doll again. Jordan loved this organization and worked very hard for it, just to be pushed to the side and taken for granted. That way that this was done was wrong and you all know it. But there will come a time when you all will have to answer for the things you’ve done. D’Tara, I think your time already came when you didn’t make the Texans Cheerleaders. God don’t like ugly. So just remember karma is real and/or for the church folks out there, “you will reap what you sow”. Hopefully, the season will get better but these sponsors and directors have to stop with this politicking. It’s just not right. Have a good year dolls! And Gabby please bring the heat! Thanks for the clarification. I knew it had to be some shady behavior from "those in authority". And to me, this is my personal observation: I think these same ones didn't like Kayla P. and these were her babies and her legacy. So if there was an opportunity to ignore her babies this was it. I hate backhanded people; they'll get theirs in the end.
Montana Maxx: For some reason I have always believed that choosing Doll captains is highly political. Just out of curiosity, do you know if they even have try-outs for the captain spot, or are they just chosen? I'm getting impression that competing for that captain spot is NOT an option...! There's just something about this captain situation that stinks, and I 1st noticed it last year with that Maya situation.
Yea...I definitely think hate on KP’s crabs. I just don’t think that they like someone to be bigger than the brand. Kayla didn’t need to bring in new counts and change the struts because she had natural talent that just couldn’t be denied. Even though I love Danni, she did not have that natural lengendary status she worked for it. KP was lengendary her very first game as a crab. And no hating Maya but I don’t think she should’ve been captain. It would’ve been boring and she used to mock and laugh at Stamper while they were in the stands. I’m sure they did watch those videos and took heed.
I definitely think there should be unbiased sponsors/directors. I mean these girls have to deal with social media now. It’s not like it was back in the day.

I’m sorry.....but Gabby got it going on. I love that suttle/bougie almost arrogant vibe she brings. I do think she was nervous hence it being the first game. I feel like Gabby is gonna focus on bringing back the technical aspect of the dolls which is what they were known for in the first place. Yeah, they had high energy these past few seasons but in all honesty they lacked a lot of technicality. And I’m knowing Kaylon had something to do with that kickline section. Had ZHS written all over it lol.

I will never understand people. A big majority of everyone mad about Jordan mel or tailyn not getting captain are some of the ones who said jordan was painful to watch when she lead, She dance to hard, she not sensual, etc etc. at one point comments said tailyn was too stiff and not as sensual as conner when she danced. And lets not forget how people drug mel back in ‘15. people talked about Danielle her first year as captain because she danced to hard or too dramatic and compared her to kayla p. They talked about her last year because maya didnt get captain. Im just starting to think we in a generation of complainers. I been a doll fan since 2006 and i think each year they get better. Im excited for the season. I wish everyone can look past the messy drama and appreciate the dolls and all they do and uplift not tear down because who they want isn’t upfront

Fadell Vaughn: I am so damn glad that you're pointing out the many flaws of all of those other so- called super star dancers. Truth be told, Jordan's style of dancing was always too damn aggressive; she never blended in with the other smoother dancing Dolls anyway. It almost like she didn't belong there. If I was the band director I would NOT have chosen Jordan myself. So I commend Taylor for NOT giving Jordan that spot. The Doll that should've been the captain was Tailyn, hands down...!. I was so damn disappointed that she quit. I don't exactly know how the Dancin Doll captains are chosen, but I think it is quite obvious they don't have captain tryouts. Apparently the band director just picks whoever the hell he wants. No try-outs, no competition, no nothing...! I guess with the Dancin Dolls that captain spot belongs to the most popular. Maybe now that Haymer is gone, all that shady ass political shit will disappear....!
Jon Doe i wouldnt i was pointing out flaws. I just hate how flip flop the comments can be. Like either you like them or you do. I loved all of ‘15 and appreciate each style they had. Tailyn been the classic/new age mix. The high energy jordan had, and mel being the sensual one. It sucks they are gone. i do hope the shady mess stops because The dolls are an amazing line with talented people and the organization misses out a lot of great opportunities to take it to the next level when the admins start to get to involved too much.
Arielle is snatching and struttin so effortlessly. Gabby has to get more loose and get comfortable up there if her crab outstrutting her and her form is more defined.

Gabby is cute, but she doesn't have that it factor when it comes to style of dance and technique...Captains stand out from the rest and she just blends in. We have seen that it factor with KP and Dani. Their style was their own and it set a higher standard. I’m not here for Gabby being captain but that dosent stop the fact that I feel bad for her. She was thrown into this position and had no time to prepare for it I know she didn’t even think she was going to be captain this year or even ever. I hope she can find her umph soon
briel simmons She was asked while 15 (Jordan and Tailyn) was still on the team and accepted the position. So she wasn’t thrown into anything. If she felt like she wasn’t ready she could’ve said no. She said yes bc she wanted to be up front and now she has it. She’s had time to get ready. She’s been on the team for two years. I do think she’ll step it up in the next few games.
That’s All Cee To me, she didnt have time. Jordan probably had plans she made up for the team since mid last season. But if it’s the way you say (her accepting and wanting instead of being told) she needs to step it up and give what she asked for.
