I’m wondering if they’ll have a morality mechanic between the ghost and samurai gameplay. They mentioned the ghost was dishonorable, and sucker punch has a history of the good/bad mechanic. Could be something there.
There was a supposed leak a year ago that talked about how ghost playstyle is seen as a dishonorable way by the people and how they won’t be happy seeing you, here they called it dishonorable too so who knows it might have been a true leak.

They said the mongols learn to fear the ghost, I imagine if you don't play as the ghost, that won't happen.
Gabriel Tzukishiro they pretty clearly showed that you can confront combat in the ghost style or the samurai style. When they showed the samurai combat, you are right, they didn’t fall in fear. They just fought back.
ancient japan had an honor system, per se, and not giving your enemy a chance to fight back is dishonorable. I don't think there'll be an honor system

I'm right there with Blessing. This looks awesome! The soundtrack really helped every action seem so epic. To answer that final question, I think I'll be playing in English in my first playthrough. The English voice acting has been a noticeable strong point of each trailer prior to this gameplay showcase. I'll save the Japanese dubbing for the Cinema Mode playthrough.
Game looks great! Also I'm definitely playing this in Japanese.

As an aside, I honestly still feel like the first Infamous is the best one. I didn’t like that they changed the voice in the second game and I didn’t like the New Orleans setting as much. Second Son was cool because of Seattle and the different powers but the story sucked. I wish they had done a trilogy with the beast rather than putting it in the second game
@Leon Russell First of all, the leaker wasn’t a Naughty Dog employee, second thing even if he had been he would have been an asshole for screwing his colleagues. Anyway I’m glad I haven’t looked at spoilers, not even trailers except the first one. Can’t wait for both games.

Take all my money, no take it and convert it to yen!!! Take all my yen!!!This is out what I always wanted in an Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan!! But since Ubisoft said they won’t do one in this time period for some absolutely stupid reason this it the closest we’ll get.
NO actually this exceeds any and all expectations I had for this game. I truly believe even Ubisoft couldn’t be this innovative with gameplay in AC nor jaw dropping in its beautiful setting. This is the first game ever for the PS4 where I am chomping at the bit to use photo mode!! And I might also play it with the Japanese audio!!

This game was announced 3 years ago, and we are just now seeing large scale gameplay. This isn't a fair comparison to games just announced.

I don’t get it, the lack of a HUD alone keeps people’s hype down? I’ve been sold on all these games since E3 2018, Sony’s games never downgrade (at least not noticeably).
It's hard to get a sense of how combat actually FEELS...but the game just looks so...dang...beautiful. I gotta have it. 👌

I got to agree. There's obviously a parry system but I don't know whether the person playing is just good but his timing looked spot on so they didn't really show what happens when they miss that timing. Or how big that timing is. Plus what happens if you just spam attacks. I'm not expecting Nioh or Sakiro levels of combat (though that'd be amazing and stance switching gives me a bit of hope) but I do want some challenge in the gameplay mechanics.
Either way I want to play it.
This game has always had to take a backseat to the last of us. An amazing showcase

I'm going Japanese, in my country there is the culture of using the original audio for movies with subtitles (with the exception of kids movies). Listening Japanese voice acting will definitely add to the experience.

I usually go subtitles too, but this wasn't made by a Japanese team so I honestly will probably go English. When it's a Japanese game or anime I feel like I'm missing out on the original intent this is different for me.

I can maybe see why Sony has continued to hold GoT behind LoU2 as for me LoU was a once play through type of game, nothing much left to go back for, whereas GoT looks like something that is going to tie me over for a long time exploring everything. Thoughts?

This game absolutely needs to be played in Japanese. Anyone who has tried games like Nioh 2 and Sekiro in both Japanese and English knows how much difference the Japanese soundtrack makes to the atmosphere.
That soundtrack is otherworldly. So beautiful
The composer is Shigeru Umebayashi. He’s never done a game’s score, but he’s composed a bunch of Japanese and Chinese films.

I must say, I was not very interested in this game initially. But after seeing this it has become very much a must have.
This game looks so damn good!! Not just the beautiful graphics, but the games setting is incredible.
People compliment Xbox and give Sony a lot of shit for being silent.
But then they show you how to do a "actual" gameplay reveal.
Sony have been silent because they still have games to show and release for this gen

Will definitely be playing this with Japanese dialogue as it will totally immerse me within the world. I’m used to reading subtitles as I’ve had them on for films and games since I was a kid.
The black and white filter I’m not as sure about using just due to the amazing colour within the game. If it’s easy and accessible to change it for specific moments that would look cool and cinematic then I might. Say like a boss battle is about to start, switch it to black and white.
I'm going sub. It's hard when games talk during combat which i'm hoping most of the talking will be done in cutscenes because i cant play and read at the same time.

I never understand why people aren't honest in reviews. The game looks stunning but believe me dicing dudes with slow-mo counterstrikes in every confrontation is going to get boring. Maybe the use of physical fighting and or huge fight opposition with 300 hundred dudes would be cool. But this is a 6.5 - 7 as a full game. Graphics/customization is a 10 but gameplay looks redundant and boring after 3 hours of play.

I'm definitely a Dubs>Subs guy, but I feel like playing a game set in 1200's Japan, where the characters are just speaking English might take me out of the game, and because of that I'll be playing in Japanese with subs. Also, this video made me preorder the game.
First play-through will be English and in color. Second play-through will be Japanese and black and white. GONNA BE EPIC!!!

You bet your ass I'm playing this in Japanese. They say they're dumb and need it in English - that's how I am about visuals. I don't care about missing things in the frames because I'm too dumb to even observe anything interesting. I put subtitles on movies too.

Looks okay. It checks boxes for a open world adventure. Does nothing interesting outside of a few filters and sound settings. Looks pretty though.

GOTY 2020 is going to be between this, Cyberpunk, and FF7. Idk what else will compete with these 3 for this year.
S M I’d say TLoU 2 but it depends to see how objective the critics will be. Story might be 1 thing but nobody does animation detailing like Naughty Dog.

It's a realistic Samurai game idk what else they've could've done
Look at the way he infiltrates the enemy area. Throws a distraction sneaks up behind. Ive done this before. It works but its not exciting anymore. This gameplay is full of moments like that. There are some great micro gameplay moments happening with animals replacing UI and the fear system. Just doesn’t quite go that extra mile. Still looks like a blast though.

Why do they usher in next gen right when the current gen is hitting its stride. Just think how much better horizon 2 could be on current gen as developers get more used to the hardware. Last of us 2 may blow uncharted away visually. Let developers make 2 or 3 games each gen.
BigValleyMountie from what’s been reported, Horizon 2 started on PS4 then got pushed up to PS5 so I’m sure that’ll look great. Considering the jump from this gen to next gen is the easiest it’s ever been for devs, there’s nothing to worry about.
