Owen's punditry brings hilarious levels of "Duuuuuh". When United were struggling for goals last season he said "When they don't score goals they hardly ever win"
The list is about players/coaches who were well respected and had a good reputation throughout most of their career, before ruining it with some one spectacular failure (or a string of failures). Maradona never had such one breaking point. He was consistently good on football pitch and consistently awful outside of it.
Just as a reminder: Hoeneß will be back as President very soon, he admitted his failures, went to jail and is (more or less) even more loved than before, cause of the way he faced his problems (gambling is one hell of a drug...) Hell, even Dortmund-Fans say he´s a good man now ! So tell me something about comebacks, Hoeneß could tell me more^^
Fabregas ruined his legacy?? He spent 9 years at a team were he only won 1 cup and went moved on to win The LaLiga and the Premier League and the EFL, his only hated by Barca and Arsenal fans
Ronaldinho and Adriano should have maked this list I mean, Ronaldinho could've been the best ever if he didint party too much, and Adriano had al the skills to replace Ronaldo as Brazil top strikers but his problems with gangs ruined his career
And I know most of this lists only feature players who played in Europe, but the GK Bruno should've maked as well, he was about to start in the world cup, and was by far Brazil's best keeper and then he killed his ex-girlfriend , got arrested and all his career went down
Rhys Wyss He could've be THE best ever, he had the perfect skills, he was a genius but now, even Las Palmas refused to sign him, his career reach a huge downfall, if he retire in 2014, his legacy would be untouchable but now he's been know for his partying than his playing, I mean, he is the best player I ever saw but his carrer reach a downfall way earlier than what is expected

perhaps adriano? maybe messi for his scandal? george best for his terrible habits following his early retirement? probably most of all has to be diego maradona for...everything following barca and napoli :P
Maradona. Maybe the greatest footballer of all time...Shitty job as Argentina manager, drug addiction, bad relation with the media, dodging taxes, illegitimate son...There's a lot to talk about.
Love all the Real Madrid fanboys hating on Messi for tax evasion. He could have murdered his family, it doesn't matter, he's still a better player than Real Madrid.

Fabregas wanted to play in the BPL and for Arsenal after Barcelona sold him again but Arsenal rejected him so he had no choice but to join Chelsea who were on their game at that time

No Mention of Mats Hummels??? He ruined his legacy at dortmund , he would have been A BVB legend , The captain of the squad to leave for our rivals , now all hes known for to bvb fans is a snake and a hypocrite , no one appreciates what he did for us , but it was his greedy choice.
***** No its not , pogba didnt spend most of his professional career with juventus , he was never the club icon and captain of the club , he never moved to a direct rival
Mats Hummels spent 9 years at BvB where he was only named a BvB captain for ONE YEAR. which means, only last year, after Kehl left. Hummels won everything with BvB and was runner up in UCL final, served 8-9 years for BvB you must be grateful to him for serving for so many years. Respect and being grateful are two things the BvB fans don't have them in their dictionary
After backanbeur..i realized platini is going to be number 1 but for fabregas..i completely agree..he was one of my favorite arsenal player along with van persie and when they move away from arsenal..i actually felt really bad because they were so good at their positions..its sad to see now they are nowhere as they were during arsenal days
I'll never like Barcelona for what they did with Cesc. Pique is probably the shittiest player ever. They urged cesc to join Barcelona, even making him wear a Barca shirt during their times at Spain. As he thought he was wanted now by his hometown club, he moved back to his land (perhaps with a lot of disrespect to Arsenal fans after forcing the move) but everyone loves their hometown so there's a bit of pity for him. When he went to Barca, he was constantly benched and booed by the fuckers over there. The fuck they trying to do with him, guy was brilliant for us. He'd have probably been our legend if he'd have stayed with us till now through thick and thins. Fucking asshole crap shit of Barcelona. probably the shitiest club in world football
+1998 oais Tell me something Fabregas did for Barcelona? Xavi and Iniesta overrated? Then how come they won so much trophies for Spain and Barcelona? If you think you know better than Del Bosque, Guardiola and Martino would all know that Fabregas is nowhere better than Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and Xabi Alonso. Fabregas is a good passer but nowhere better than any of them. The only thing he beats them in is pace. Have you seen how his performance declined from start to end of season? He disappeared against Chelsea in 2012 where he missed 5 chances and Barcelona lost by a goal, disappeared against Bayern when Xavi was absent and Barcelona suffered their worst loss in years. Against Atletico Madrid in 2014? Disappeared and failed to finish clear cut chances and Barcelona lost. He can't control the midfield like Xavi and Busquets. Wenger wanted him back but guess what? He wanted a higher wage and Wenger said no. And being his greedy self, he accepted rivals who was coached by his former rival Mourinho.
+1998 oais and I do not see what is wrong with Barcelona wanting their talent back. Dortmund sold Gotze to Bayern and bought him back, Hummels was released to Dortmund and Bayern pursued him to return. Morata left and Real pestered Juventus till they agreed to let him go. Long ago, Fabregas wanyed to return to Barcelona but Wenger said no but guess what, he made a transfer request and was finally allowed to leave. His reason? His love for Spanish football and his long term friendship with Pique. Now he disappointed the club. EPL took him back and he shined for a season. But guess what Barcelona and Real Madrid are not a club for you to come and try your luck, you fail you leave. Real Madrid has sold their young talents like Negredo, Mata, Albiol, Callejon, Juanfran, Adan, Lopez, Adrian etc. Barcelona is no different. If Cesc had done well he would be able to stay and that is as easy as that.
+1998 oais Are you stupid?? He was never near talent of Xavi and Iniesta. They need consistent players for their midfield, not some punks who have a good performance and then 5 bad performances. As far as I know he never got a chance in Spain team too because guess what? Xavi and Iniesta were picked before him. And don't tell me everyone is a fanboy and don't see his true talent. And wasn't it that Ronaldo was getting booed too? Their best player. And he won more trophies at Barca and Chelsea then he would ever get in arsenal. You Arsenal fans are so deluded.
Why is fabregas on this shit, he left Arsenal to create his legacy, if he stayed at Arsenal, he wouldn't hardly have any legacy when his career is over, he made the right move, won most of the major trophies and made a lot of money, what more do u want him to do. Also, it is basically impossible to be a legend at Barca so there is no shame in not achieving that status because Barca have Xaxi, Inesta, Messi, Puyol, etc, those players basically grew up at Barca. Owen shouldn't be on the list either, lol.
how about messi? throwing a hissi-fit in face of the greatest honour of playing for argentina? avoiding tax in a debt ridden country with many hard working poor when he is rich af? or just being shit for a star studded argentina side? or maybe just taking it easy in a star studded barca in a 90% easy league while still claiming title 'the best'? or being as quiet af ike an arrogant, plain goody-goody?
Arriving to the finals 3 times in a row means he can do it for Argentina, plus it's obvious that he is the best player at Barcelona, how can one be average if he surpasses Suarez and Iniesta? The rest is probably true though, he shouldn't have left Argentina and come back but hey so did Aguero and Mascherano. No excuse for tax dodging
how about u just shut up becuz ur a typical messi hater. Messi shit with argentina? Then ronaldo is dog shit with portugal? And he went to 4 finals with argentina. He retired becuz 4 finals is too much. Think about it before u talking bullshit
Alan Shearer isn't a commentator he's a pundit and he's not boring unlike Owen he's respected. Cesc Fabregas hasn't thrown his career away he is still a top player! His list is utter bullshit! 💩💩💩
Quite surprised Rooney isn't on this list. It takes a special player to be hated by almost everyone when you're not only about to become Man United's record all time goalscorer, but also England's current record all time goalscorer.. Somehow that man has managed to completely ruin his entire legacy whilst still actively playing at one club, and also breaking national records. That's special.
Hoeness did not only fail his legacy after his carreer. When he injured his knee, he didn't want to stop playing soccer. Bayern didn't want to give him another contract as they knew he would never be at 100% again. So he decided to switch teams. After Hamburg denied him a contract as he refused to allow them to check on his knee, he got a contract in Nürnberg - and things didn't went well. He played only some matches, never was able to help the team with his performances and lead the team to be moved to 2nd league. Then he finally realiced that he had to end his active carreer.
Cesc has made a bigger legacy of trophies with Chelsea in a few years than that measly FA Cup in like 8 years. 3 years and going on his 2nd Premier League title and possibly 2nd FA Cup, this time with Chelsea.
I'm an Arsenal fan. n.1 Wenger did not "ship out" Vieira to make space for Fabregas, Fabregas did not replace Vieira in the team, Gilberto Silva did. He also did not ship out Vieira, he just couldn't be bothered to spend another summer persuading him not to leave, which he'd been doing for the past 2 seasons before. Fabregas actually stepped into the gap left by Ray Parlour. n.2 Fabregas never "went on strike" to force a move. He always said when he left Arsenal it would be for Barca, Barca were interested, he left, it's fair enough. When he came back to england he gave Arsenal first option, and Wenger said no thanks. n.3 While I hope Fabregas has ruined his legacy, while he is still in a Chelsea shirt, because f them, you can't say he has because his career is not over. He has played well for Chelsea and helped them to a league title and could do again. He could move elsewhere and regain his form.
F. Torres: Atletico to Liverpool and Liverpool to Chelsea. Shevchenko from AC Milan to Chelsea. Luis Figo: Barca and Real. Mats Hummels, BVB to Bayern and back....
Great list Pat, but saying that Fabregas' ruined his career is a bit much. I don't think you can judge a player's legacy until they've retired. Maybe he just didn't want to keep playing under Arsene Wenger. He hasn't reached the heights people expected but he's still got quite a few good years left in him. Who knows what he could do for his club(s) and for Spain too.
Where is Ronaldo Nazario? Went from a young talent who was brought to high level football by Barcelona and ended up joining rivals Real Madrid. He even joined AC Milan after he was a considered a star at Inter Milan and was given the ful support when the world thought his career was over. He enjoyed his prime at Inter yet he betrayed them for AC Milan.
Franz Beckenbauer should not be on this list. He is not a big shot at Fifa, he merely headed the 2006 WC organizing comittee. He was reprimanded by Fifa Ethics committee, but only because he refused to answer legal questions in English, he wanted to be questioned in german, because he wanted to be sure to fully understand everything. even the Fifa ethics committee shortly after that backtracked. Though he was investigated and his office was searched, nothing was found that would implicate him in wrongdoing. This video implies he was found guilty of something, which is not the case. Basicly, he was under investigation (like many of Fifa associated people), and because he was famous that he was being looked into was on the news. So far, that was is. People looked into him and found nothing. Doesn't really warrant the label he is given here: ruination of his legacy.
Fabregas may be a little harsh but I kind of understand. Arsenal fans on his back, all those summers being pursued by Barca to end up not meeting the expectations and only one good season as Chelsea
Roy Hogdson didn't ruin his legacy. Yes he failed with England but his previous success easily outweigh his failures. He still has a great legacy in some parts of the world.
what about zidane? i mean ig hes kinda saving it at real now but all people remember him for is his headbutt, even though he was one of the greatest to ever play
Arsenal fans were unfair to Fabregas, he tried to move back to Arsenal but he wasn't wanted so he settled for Chelsea, ultimately Barca wanted him gone and he needed a club, their loss is our gain
Honestly, if any Arsenal fan feels a grudge towards Fabregas, it wouldn't be justified. I don't blame him for wanting to return to Barca, after all, it's the place he grew up. I think he should have been let off a bit more than he was. Also, the man wanted, and tried, to return to Arsenal, but Wenger, rightly so, didn't think there was room for him in the team. So, he opted to join Chelsea. Yes, he could have gone elsewhere, but maybe he wanted to return to London? I honestly have no hard feelings towards him.
He would never get the same chance at Barca as he did at Arsenal. The managers trust is worth gold for any young player and Wenger believed in him like no other. Made him a better player than any other manager has managed to do. His best years were at arsenal that was his peak.
TheBaconPig Not really. The English coaches are terrible at grooming young players. La Masia is the best place to be coached that developed Messi Xavi and co. Besides, English players lack skills and technique. The culture of football over there is pretty much physical and they lack genuine intellect. Barcelona is the best club in the world. He should have sticked with the very best. He had huge potential. He could have been the next Xavi. He wasted it.
British media creates a lot of fuzz around managers and players if they don't perform as expected! Nobody hated x-portuguese manager or put the blame of shock defeat they suffered at the hands of Greece at euros!! It's high time they start appreciating and stop pressurising them if they are to see England succeed intentionally or continentally!!
Max Hudson that manager was scolari, one of the best managers in the world that had just won the world cup with brazil 2 years before. You can’t compare a legend like him to the shitty managers that are in this list
they forgot alex hunter
LOL
Gareth walker
yeah fabregas ruined his legacy of losing when he left arsenal....
How did Chelsea do last season?
we got the same amount of trophies as Arsenal
F 2 FA cups and with his quality we would have been more likely to win a more prestiged trophy
Alex Pack no you wouldn't... when he left chelsea and united just got better lol you were no where near
lol
Robin van persie should be here
Arsenal Fanboy spotted.
Aditya, Milan, Van Persie should actually be there he isn't really good anymore.
Hello Hello Thats like saying Bastian Schweinsteiger should be here.
Schwienstiger is still pretty decent, Van Persie has went down hill. It's just that Schwienstiger isn't getting enough game time before Jose came.
+Hello Hello thats the point. they went down due to their age but persie should be here.
Wouldn't really put Owen in this cause he hasn't ruined his legacy like Platini. All he is, is a really boring pundit, not a corrupt person.
He's so boring its basically corruption though lets be honest
well no
You forgot to mention that Owen signed for Liverpool's most bitter rivals
no Messi? he did tax fraud and i bet he payed Blatter for the Ballon D' Ore i bet he did yup
There's a vote for the ballon door......idiot
Fabregas doesn't deserve to be in that list
Agreed he doesn't deserve to be on this list, instead he should be on "Top 10 traitors of all time", much more suites him.
+Montana Kane Oh sh*t 4rsenal fan spotted
why is he a traitor? he is Barcelona fan just because he played at Arsenal doesn't mean he support them
and u gotta say going to Chelsea was the right decision he won the League
+Ahmed Almansoer But ... last season was really bad for him and hes not even in the team for Chelsea
Name a player you looked up to who has seriously let you down?!
Messi
Fabregas at Arsenal

Depay at United, he's shit ;)

As a Chelsea fan, Fabregas still has a lot to offer if Conte does use him. Give him time and he'll deliver.
it was a biased opinion as he is a arsenal supporter
True after all Conte said he won't sell him in the winter transfer window because he is in his plan
aaand he scored twice :D

+Dickson Chong Arsenal for life

Maradona
And messi

Kittu360 It's not really his fault tho, but i see what you mean
how isnt it maradonas fault
Owen's punditry brings hilarious levels of "Duuuuuh". When United were struggling for goals last season he said "When they don't score goals they hardly ever win"

Messi too

I don't get why he's hated. He obviously wanted to go back to Arsenal but they didn't come in for him.
Cockoff Gewgle Arsenal offered him a contract and he rejected because it was too low wage and went for Chelsea.
if uli hoeneß is on the list then messi deserves a spot too
Ronaldinho and Adriano should have maked this list I mean, Ronaldinho could've been the best ever if he didint party too much, and Adriano had al the skills to replace Ronaldo as Brazil top strikers but his problems with gangs ruined his career

Ronaldinho? Really? He IS one of the best ever. Easily one of the top 5 greatest players of all time.
Are you stupid? People still have massive respect for both
Well, here in Brazil he started to turn into a joke and Adriano here is know more as a gangster than a pro footballera
Not even a mention of the fact Michael Owen went to Manchester United? That move alone ruined his legacy at Liverpool
How can't u mention that Owen went from Liverpool to Man united😂😂that's illegal surely
Where the hell was Torres? He was literally the best striker in the world in the 08/09 & 2009/10 with liverpool until he moved to bloody Chelsea..
Hey joe! Great job in the British bake off! What do you think of it moving to channel 4?

How the fuck is fabregas on this list?
Went from arsenal to Chelsea
No he went from Arsenal to Barca, and from Barca to Chelsea
He swore to never go to chelsea, he was arsenal captain and the he went to chelsea
*then he
perhaps adriano? maybe messi for his scandal? george best for his terrible habits following his early retirement? probably most of all has to be diego maradona for...everything following barca and napoli :P
Messi's legacy isn't ruined he is doing so good right now in la liga
messis's legacy isn't ruined
And Ronaldo for diving and saying stupid things in the press!

excuse me GEORGE BEST WILL ALWAYS BE AN UNITED LEGEND
i think nasri, van persie, clichy and rene higuita deserves 2 be on this list
Why do you think Higuita should be in the list?
he was involved in the kidnapping of a girl
Just a random chelsea fan
+hamze saab Wow!!! I didn't know that!!!
Michael Owen actually ruined his legacy when he joined Manchester United after being idolized at Liverpool !..
Maradona? Torres?
Maradona. Maybe the greatest footballer of all time...Shitty job as Argentina manager, drug addiction, bad relation with the media, dodging taxes, illegitimate son...There's a lot to talk about.

he went to BVB from bayern, so he basically just went back to his former club just like pogba.
FIFA Skills Yeah but He only ever played 1 competitive game for bayern and came on as a sub , he was a nobody to them , BVB gave him a chance to shine
***** No its not , pogba didnt spend most of his professional career with juventus , he was never the club icon and captain of the club , he never moved to a direct rival

I thought Owen ruined his Liverpool legacy when he went to Man u for a bit!
Messi surely ruined his reputation and Beckenbauer hasn't been found guilty yet
bencb3 why
You forgot that Oven went to Manchester United. Can you belive it?! A scouser that went to United
How did Fabregas ruin his legacy? He's won plenty since he left Arsenal. If he stayed at Arsenal all he would have won is a F.A Cup.
I wanted players not managers after they stopped being players of football
a few hours later and cesc score's Two goals😂😂
Torres never made the cut? Interesting
Roy hodgson was never good
Great video, it shows that Legends like Ronaldo can switch from Barca to Inter Milan to Real Madrid to Milan and Everyone Loves him.
Roy Hodgson all the way!!
are you dumb
Uli Hoeneß is pretty much cool with everybody again
because he went to prison for some time
And cause he´s Uli Hoeneß...really amazing how he turned things around. This incident was really huuuuge in Germany
Will be interesting to see how Beckenbauer will get out of this...maybe Uli can give him some advises^^
Used to love Messi even as a Real Madrid fan, that tax evasion shit doesn't cut it.
Tax to a Spanish corrupted goverment. No thanks.
This channel deserve 1 million subs
Why is fabregas on this shit, he left Arsenal to create his legacy, if he stayed at Arsenal, he wouldn't hardly have any legacy when his career is over, he made the right move, won most of the major trophies and made a lot of money, what more do u want him to do. Michael Owen and no mention of Man united?
+football daily the England euro 2016 team

SiddyFisher Kun savage
Quite surprised Rooney isn't on this list. It takes a special player to be hated by almost everyone when you're not only about to become Man United's record all time goalscorer, but also England's current record all time goalscorer.. Somehow that man has managed to completely ruin his entire legacy whilst still actively playing at one club, and also breaking national records. That's special.
Agree
Hated because he had his day and it's time to retire but he's hanging on and taking ManU and the England squad with him down the Toilet.
Leaving and finally winning titles, silly Fabregas, should have known better.
On his first day and all.
Then he finally realiced that he had to end his active carreer.
maradona?
The title should have been "10 great players who ruined their legacy.... in english football".
Forgetting Fabregas won the premiership and capital one cup at Chelsea? Hardly a ruined legacy when he only won the FA cup at Arsenal
F. Torres: Atletico to Liverpool and Liverpool to Chelsea. Shevchenko from AC Milan to Chelsea. Luis Figo: Barca and Real. Mats Hummels, BVB to Bayern and back....
Zidane and Maradona 100% should be on there
Maradona for sure
Zidane? If anything he is making his legacy even better, winning the UCL as a manager
+ExplosivePuppetDon no Zidane left a bad legacy when he head butted that player in the world cup
If it was the first time, maybe.
Just to mess with people, let's have hoddle and owen broadcast a match together
Don't forget, he tok Malmö to the European Cup final too, hes a HUGE legend in malmö.
Messi, Maradona and Torres deserves a position in this video.
Owen didn't ruin his legacy by becoming a pundit, he ruined it by going to Manchester.
As a Greek, and a Panathinaikos fan,I couldn't agree more with the #1 choice and reasoning.
ronin van persie ,samir nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, paul pogba, joey barton and mario balotelli
I met Beckenbauer at a hotel and we watched football for 4 hours in the lobby... He's a great guy
Either you die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian.
Football Daily have you got something against Aston Villa
Despite a talented squad.
"Sees Smalling"
Fabregas is a legend wherever he goes did you see what he did against Leicester you not all football player can score two goals in like five minutes
what about zidane? i mean ig hes kinda saving it at real now but all people remember him for is his headbutt, even though he was one of the greatest to ever play
That Glenn Hoddle was savage😂😂😂😂
Michel Platini was the best player from this list (excluding the managers of course)
But the highest wasted potential was Michael Owen.
Arsenal fans were unfair to Fabregas, he tried to move back to Arsenal but he wasn't wanted so he settled for Chelsea, ultimately Barca wanted him gone and he needed a club, their loss is our gain
Lets not forget that Platini also wanted to ban tackling.
Fabregas could not reach his peak by moving to Arsenal. He should have always sticked with Barcelona.
Darren Ambrose came to Birmingham City & I was stoked but he let me down big time
What about when Glenn hoddell didn't put Matt le tissier to the England squad after 4 goals on his proper debut
I was almost sure to see Zidane in here after being sent off for a headbutting on his last game.
Allardyce has to be on this list now. Replace him for Fabregas who seriously does not deserve to be on this, at least not now.
Lothar Matthäus: he became a bad coach and then a bad tv expert
but he is kinda fun to watch
Moyes no longer belongs on this list as he now is guiding West Ham to a possible 4th place finish.
Hodgson had nothing to do with Fulham's relegation.
are you thick?
Lewandowski once let me down, i still love this striker
Gotze is going to make this list if he doesn't do better at Dortmund
