Washi Tape Swatch Book // Swatching my New Washi Tapes in a Mini Happy Notes
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- In this video I start creating a washi tape swatch book. I didn't have time to sit down and do my entire collection, but I am doing the new ones I just received from The Washi Tape Shop, and then I will continue on my own to swatch the rest of them at my leisure (probably while I binge watch some shows!). Eventually I will share my completed book with you! I am using a mini Happy Notes.

I have done a washi swatch book! I currently have over 350 different washi tapes and I love to just look at the bullet journal all the swatches are in cause they're all so pretty! 💚
This is a great idea Mary Ellen. It just so happens that am in the process of making a list book of my craft room inventory & other items. It is a monumental task & will probably take me years 😜. I will have to use this there. I love it. Thank you for sharing it.
This would be handy to have when purchasing new washi to coordinate and avoid duplicates. Thank you for this idea.
Love this idea and will do one. Had to order another washi tape organizer and some other tools from your. You are the best!
Great idea 👍🏻
I swatched my washi on the blank sides of index cards and keep them in a photo album. I write the brand and name of the collection on the back of the index card and keep collections together there, so that I can group my washi by color or season in my Michaels containers. I just got a larger spiral photo album and am now including other craft room inventory there, like samples of my punches and dies. There's enough room to eventually add color swatches of inks, pads, colored markers and pencils, etc.
After watching this video I think I'm going to do my own washi tape book. Congratulations on being a Squad member x
I just got my order from them today! oh my god! Sooooo awesome! Will be ordering more soon! Thx for the discount code!
I don't think it's bad that you did it on the grid paper. It helps see which washi tapes are opaque and which ones are see through, thus you can figure out if you may need white out or not. Just a thought to make you feel better. Happy planning!
I started swatching in a micro note book. I have a notebook/section for each washi company (i. Happy planner, simply gilded, recollections) and I write the name of the washi (if it has one) or the collection on the page. For convenience and simplicity in my planner tote, I made washi cards so that I don’t have to carry everything, just the ones I use frequently and in rainbow swatches .
I just made my own washi swatch book in a skinny mini happy notes! I don’t remember where I got the idea first, but this has been on my to do list for about a year or so :) and I have organized the swatches by color and I also have sections for collections and my favourite marks. Organizing by color wasn’t easy :D
Yes, I made one to take with me to the stores and to look through to choose for spreads. TFS🙂🌺
Great ideal! I do not have a lot of washi tape and I tend to forget what I have. I think I will take a micro happy planner to make one.
Congratulations on being a Happy Planner Mentor! 😃
I put washi swatches on blank index cards and then put those on discs. I grouped the washi by package or set. As I come up with new mixes (designs?) of washi, I put those in the swatch book. My next goal is to organize my actual washi by color.
That is so funny, because I just did one with my washi tape yesterday. of course I don't have as many as you do, but I'm starting to build up a small collection. well I just counted and 113 washi tapes
I drew little hangers and put pieces of washi to look like they are hanging off each hanger. Can’t figure out how to post a picture.
I have mine organized by brand when I can or misc. and I have holiday pages, I love the way you outlined it, I’m like you, I just did it
Great idea! I'm going to swatch all my washi ... and inks ... and markers ... and pens. ;-)
Have never made one but will be now. This is a great idea. Would love to see a spread using that really large washi tape. I struggle using anything else but this..
Awesome idea of organizing yourwashi tape bug, what you can do if you have to do more washi organizing is, when you go to put a piece or a group of them, make room at the top of the page where theat group came from. That way you will be organized and know where you need to go to get what you need for your spread. Does that make any sense? Hop you have a good day and God bless you always! Sue(Clearwater, Florida)❤️👼😎☀️😺😺🙏🏻😘👼💕💕🌴🌼🌸🌷🌺❌⭕️❌⭕️
I just finished mine after getting the idea from Desiree. I divided mine by brand. Loved the washi from washi tape store when you showed us your haul and even ordered quite a bit from them too.
I love this idea. I only have about a dozen rolls of washing tape now, but would want to do this in the future, if/ when I get a bigger collection. Tfs.
I really like seeing the Washi on dot-grid paper simply because it allows you to align the swatches more neatly. Mine are on white paper, which is great for seeing the Washi pattern. But they are not lined up very well and are really messy looking. I also love the line you sketched around each swatch. Nicely done!
You know, you could always put the swatches on white label paper and then transfer it over to your dot grid paper.
A few months back I ordered some Simply Gilded Washi. The stuff is gorgeous and feels superb. But the thing I like best is that they stamp the company name on the inside of the tape core. I got out my wet erase marker and indicated the various manufacturers on all my other Washi with dots. Two dots = Happy Planner. For ease in mentoring, you could confirm Happy Washi by referring to their website. Add two dots and you will be good to go!
Great idea!
First, the tiny sticker pad book and now this, you have me organizing my ridiculously large planner goodies stash so well!! Loooove! Thanks, Mary Ellen! ❤️😍😘

How do you store your washi?
I use three of these: ua-cam.com/video/msRj9420hOk/v-deo.html
I did one of these and I used a micro book
Me too! Now, as soon as I get a new washi, I immediately add to my swatch micro note book before it goes in my washi holder.
Same here!
