- He went for it and now he’ll be training with the big dawgs! I told him I’d start training again if he got his 2nd Dan…I hope he doesn’t go for it. I have a hard enough time tying up my shoes let alone kicking!

As a black belt in ITF taekwondo myself and has taken me many years of training and hard work to achieve this, it is insulting and quite frankly horrendous to watch. This is a typical American black belt factory McDojo. This is very common in America. In the UK this simply would not be allowed to happen. Children do not earn black belts at such rediculous young ages. 🤦🏻♂️
@@jasonorourke1787I get what your saying and I do agree with much of it but also as a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and one of my dans being attained in Korea, I have to say that children even younger than him were sporting black belts ALL THE TIME! It’s not just a North American thing but it’s also prevalent in Korea…the birthplace of TKD.

listen, this may be a Mcdojo, but this may not be an official blackbelt. People younger that 16 can challenge for a black belt, but it is considered a junior Level and has silver writing. same for people younger than 10, but with white writing. Plus when you grade, you are a provisional black belt, this is to see if you have the spirit of a blackbelt and have the commitment to carry on in the journey. It still takes a long time to achieve one of these taking 4-5 years to achieve a belt up to shodan.
50 kids, 2-3 instructors. Not enough attention to each individual student and this is why. You need to find a better dojo to train your kid. This is a bad one. Here are some pointers on what makes a good dojo/school:
1. Tests for belts/rankings, ideally with one expert assessing one student each. Everyone shouldn’t always past every test. If that happens, check their technique, and if all students seem to look the same, then you should be fine.
2. Let’s you watch how the school trains before trying it out. Let’s you watch while your child is training.
3. Not grabbing too much money-classes should be at most $160/month, and you should usually be only paying for testing fees and equipment.
4. Doesn’t require purchase of their merchandise.
5. Instructor(s) monitor their students and correct them, ensuring safety and proper technique.
6. Instructor engages with the students, and sometimes participates in the students’ training.
7. You can clearly see your instructor’s background and lineage (what, where, when, and how much they trained)
8. No ridiculous contracts (contracts are fine, but stuff like “stay for 1 year” contracts are ridiculous)
9. Your instructor is in good shape.
10. No magic techniques (like no-touch knockouts)
11. No face conditioning
12. You can ask questions and get clear answers (sometimes, answers are confusing, but still good as long as they’re not vague)

This proves how easy it is to get sucked into a martial arts cult obviously not the kid or parents fault. They just don’t know the difference. Also keep in mind, though that karate and taekwondo kid black belts in particular are not meant to be experts. It’s more to show. They know the basics.

We're not trash talking. That would be insulting the kid for no reason. Most people here are just saying he's not black belt material. That's not to say he won't improve in the future, though. I think he has potential. But his skill level at the moment is insufficient to be a black belt.

Why is the shortest one their sparring with the tallest one ah hell nah some McDojo my friend has went to a real karate club and was always a white belt until he became a teenager bc he was on the same skill lvl if not higher than your kid they all throwing only kicks too like they are sanji and what’s with all the protection there should only be head guards and shin guards obviously gloves too but why is there body pads 😂 it’s sad when he is older he is gonna act so tough only to get battered by someone cause kicking is well and fine until someone can block and protect especially if the person they fight is bigger than them in weight obviously height wouldn’t matter unless they are bad at fighting short or getting in.

Me too but the reason why I got orange to blue so fast is because I have good form and i was overqualified for green belt so now I’m purple and I need to do harder things like spinning hook kick, double roundhouse and tornado kick with the left leg, etc.

When I lived in Korea and trained there, kids younger than him had their black belts and there were more McDojos there than here in North America. Also, just because you wouldn’t play Roblox before a belt test doesn’t mean someone else wouldn’t. When I was younger and competing, I trained and fought with guys who would sit and meditate only to get their butts kicked while there were others who joked around with their friends and would win gold.

Ok so this has got to be a mcdojo because first off how are you supposed to see every kid doing their test to get a belt and their stance wasnt good and they didnt keep their hands up when fighting which is a very big thing to do because that leaves your entire face open. Also how are these kids doing that and being KIDS unless they were in the womb and learning Taekwondo then how??!! Im in Taekwondo and im a High Yellow belt and i started over a year ago and this kid probably hasnt been in that long cus i can see your videos i dont see anything about him being in Taekwondo for that long.
