Any idea of how long it last past its expiration date stamp ? Or does the mustard make it go bad ? I read and tested sardines past there date and had no problem digesting them. water and oil booth were good. PS. it past the smell and tast test and they were about 2 years past date. But I did eat each one in small sample at first before put a bunch for chow.
I rotate thru my tins by the exp. date. I have eaten them within or after the exp. date without any problems. Not sure how long after the date they are still good. of
I love picled herring too. I hardly ever see herring tins up here in MO. I definitely will have to search a lil more. I usually ate the pickled herring on a salad bar at a restaurant i eat at. 👍❤️✌️🙏🇺🇸🚣♂️🎣
I picked up a 3 pack of pickled herring and onion jars off amazon recently. It was from a Norwegian brand. Very good!
I have been looking for the Vita brand Pickled Herring and onions is jars around here but haven't been able to find it.

Expensive at Amazon. $8.50 a can.

I used to get the Vida brand pickled herring at local stores here but it must not be popular enough for them to stock it anymore.
