nice vid tks Adam. good to see the variety of settings!
Thx!!
Looks a damn sight nicer than when I surfed it in December 2019!!! Brrrrrrrr!!!!
Was there yesterday i wasnt impressed at all lol
Nice, had no idea there was a wave pool there. Some rippers there 🇦🇺👍
You might want to check the last video I put up…it has one of the UK’s best surfers of the last 25 years
Nice video mate!
Thanks! Yeah starting to really love that place.
@@offshoresphoto do you live pretty local to it then?
@@richardp1517 no I live in North Devon... But have visited the wave 3 or 4 times now
It ain't nothing like Laniakea, that's for sure!
It would have been better if you had filmed the take off to give an idea of the way it is?
At expert, size needs to crank up a lot more
Just don't think they have the space there for waves much bigger
Are there plans/potential for bigger waves? "Expert" being 4 - 5 foot mellow waves seems strange
I'm not sure what their plans are in that respect. I think a lot of the time the issue is the size of the site and power. Most of the wave pools I've seen don't deliver waves much over head high and I haven't seen any footage of places that offer 10 ft stand up barrel style waves...Surf Lakes in Australia looks good but I don't think wave pools get that big just yet.
@@offshoresphoto thanks for the reply - I am moving to Cardiff and hoping to use the pool to train (ATM I am probably only Waikiki/intermediate level). Then when we get good waves in porthcawl/Gower - hopefully I'll be ready :)
@@emrebennett7572 I think it's great for training to be honest...especially paddle fitness...the sessions are a work out.
@@offshoresphoto hopefully! My biggest issues are the takeoff + fixing my line. It will definitely help with the latter, just wondering whether it feels enough like an ocean wave to help with the takeoff!
@@emrebennett7572 I personally find the take off harder at the Wave pool than in the ocean... But I surf mostly longboard breaks... The wave pool is also less forgiving than ocean waves I find... On the advanced/expert setting if you get caught behind a foam section your done... In the ocean you can get round sections easier sometimes... I'm sure it'll be helpful
Is that the biggest it gets?
The Expert setting is the biggest setting at the moment yes.
I was there yesterday its rather crap £2 to get in plus £50 a session for 2 waves lol plus WSL has gone crap the passion of surfing is being killed off by corprate companys its shameful
