I know the hobie accessories *seem* expensive, but they really are the best. I think it's more the engineering behind them that ups the cost rather than the materials. That being said, my outback has been one of the few things in my life that the performance and durability EXCEEDS the hype and marketing. Tight lines!
Forgot to mention the advantages of the mirage drive. Its effortless ease over paddling cannot be over stressed and also its durability versus plastic "prop" style systems. Damage can be easily and cheaply fixed by the owner. In the most extreme cases it usually only requires new "rods" to be inserted into the fins and that being only after determining that the bent ones cannot be straightened in a vise. This is a huge advantage in my opinion especially considering the cost of the kayak drive systems as a whole.
Good luck, my brother and I both struggled with that choice. I wish I had had the opportunity to test the revo's. I'd love to sample the 13 with turbo fins, however I still appreciate the ability to stand and fish in my outback without much worry.
Love it. These are just the right size/weight. very stable and fast (even against the wind) Its takes a little getting used but I can stand and fish and it has plenty of pockets, cup holders and storage.

Duct tape. I use it on my hulls to reduce scratches and wear.
