The fact that she wrote that letter and put it in an envelope along with her father's wedding ring for Deeks to open whenever he was ready to is amazing on its own, but when you realize that she did this 6 YEARS AGO (season 4) makes it even more special. They've always known how strong their love for each other was, but this just proves it even more. I definitely was not expecting that to be what was in the infamous box but I'm glad it's what we received. Well done NCIS: LA team!
Yes , I have thought about this too. There he was ripping open the box after she cut the tape and he found a smaller box inside. He left it on his desk and went home. Am I to believe that already then the smaller box contained these strong items of romantic art ? What if he had opened it already then ? I have pondered upon the implications of that, and i think that the whole story could have taken a different turn.
@@knips63 I absolutely agree with you! Nevertheless I'm happy they even ended up in a relationship considering how long it took for them to get here. I got into NCIS: LA by stumbling upon Densi fan videos here on UA-cam and the first official kiss in season 4 got me so excited, it was almost unfortunate because we ended up having to wait 6 more years but 'the box' really made the wait worth it for me!

@@davidalanjonesridge9874 Of course it was but it's a superbly written, brilliantly directed and wonderfully acted script that will cause many viewers (myself included) to take a genuine interest in and care about the characters. That after all is the aim of all fictional writing, to create characters we can relate to and even care about. The various iterations of NCIS have done this several times extremely well, notably Tony and Ziva, Eric and Nell and of course Kensi and Deeks.
I bawled my eyes out 😢. The sweetest, most perfect thing to have been on the box.

Kensi had the other key, and swapped that letter in MUCH later.
I got teary-eyed hearing both their voices reading the letter. Actually, I do every time I watch this video.
It made me teary eyed to so sweet . I also get teary eyed when during the wedding when Kensi says turns out you were right it is a love story the smile on Deeks face is is priceless.

She wanted him waaay long time ago! She waited until he was ready. I’m glad he realized that woman was right for him… it’s beautiful to see it.
Dana says- Deeks finally got what he wanted most in the world- to be cherished by someone and to be the person they care most about. He got someone who loves him, values him, and trusts him to love her back and keep her safe. My heart. Just when I thought I couldn't ship Densi any more. (Eric's performance here was amazing.)
What a special emotional moment,the thing that Deeks has always wanted more than anything else in the world is to be loved and cherished forever til death do us part. Phenomenal performance from Eric, that had me reaching for tissues
The fact that Eric’s reaction is genuine always gets me.
And all I say is........awwwwwwwwwww. After the fake snakes jump out. It turns out that Kensi Blye loved Martin Deeks before the rascal caught on. She was sure years ago before he was. Friends and neighbors, that was some good scripting and acting.
Watching ‘What’s in the box’, made me cry so much. Eric gave such an amazing performance. Long live Kensi and Deeks.💕💕💕💕

First episode I ever saw was the introduction of Deeks.
Got my wife hooked shortly after and we haven't missed an episode since.
Great chemistry from all of the cast.
On a side note, anybody think it's just a coincidence, that Hetty made her return crashing her car through a wall and the actress who portrays her, Linda Hunt, has been absent due to recovering from an auto accident?
Haven't watched this show for years, I remember season 1-7 clearly , character progression in each season felt natural.
Something so simple that meant everything.
I love the letter her father wrote to her.
Did anyone else jump when the snake things flew out of the box? I loved this so much. It shows just how much they meant to each other before they even realized or admitted it

Just watched this episode tonight (Well last night now). I felt completely happy after seeing this scene because I knew Kens gave Deeks the box 5/6 years ago and I knew then that it was something to do with their thing as they called it. This is just perfect 👌💜
The writers dragged this out and the script played out and played us along as well. Look what they are doing to us through Eric and Nell. Jorel and Callen. Tony and Ziva. et. al. ,etc.

We know that all this started mid season 4, at what point did KENSI change her mind about DEEKS ,was it when she was in the room with the 'lasers' and he was willing to die to save here??? Was when she said that 'I am too your type' ???
And for the record, I couldn't imagine KENSI leaving the one thing that ment SO much to her (her father's ring) in some locker for six years
Me neather. You know what I think? I think that she changed the contents of the box just some previous episodes before this one when they talk briefly about a box. Deeks literraly asked "What's in the box" and that reminded them both about their box. I think she had something like a letter and some other thing (can't imagine what), both equally beautiful but of course not as deep as her father's ring and those amazing words in here. I think the first content was having a stable relationship with someone who trust in him completely and loves him.

This was cool and all but does not track at all where they were when she gave him the box back halfway through season 4
but doesn't it show symbolisation!? That by getting the box in the first place, she was giving him the opportunity to get to her heart!? I don't know if its just me, but I see it as symbolisation for the layers of her heart, because the time she opens the first layer is the time when they decided to talk about their relationship, and accept they like each other.
What gets me is that this box is from the earlier seasons so they were endgame from JUMP

I didn't get Nell wasn't one of her bridesmaids it legit made no sense to me at the time they knew each other for like 9 years she should have gotten to be a part of that day not just sit in the audience nell is like her best friend
But she isn't a co worker an aquitance to Kensi. But her bride maids are friends. People she grew up with that knew her. There is a difference ❤❤

Ok, I know rings don't say you're married, but after their wedding, Kensi and Deeks don't wear their rings at all. Idk why but
I think it's because the don't want to lose their rings and Kensi wears her ring when she's at home
