It sucks to happen. I worked for 2 stores that were robbed. One time they just came in bashing and grabbing with guns and bats saying don't look. They were never caught. There was like 20 small jewelry stores robbed in one month in San Antonio but nobody would go on the news. San Antonio be weird. People here wanna hide the fact they got robbed because they are afraid high dollar customers won't walk in if customers know they could possibly be at the shop while a robbery happens. So no one went on social media. Had it been my store I would have blasted it. Then another store I managed was broken into thru the back concrete wall. They spent 5 hours cutting thru. We saw the video later.. Got thru without setting an alarm off, only to find out that they broke into the bathroom...not the safe room next door 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thankfully the alarm finally went off, cops secured the place but dudes were never caught. This happens so much in every city it's sad. Gotta have a gun and be ready nowadays

As someone who works in the UK watch industry, every single watch on sale in this video is being sold at the current market value. It's not a good deal, just what they are now worth in this downward facing market.

As for the Sky Dweller, we just sold a 2019 model of the exact watch in the video for £35,000. In dollars this is just above $40k so I'm afraid Michael got a bad deal. However, this video could have been filmed a while ago.

Second two tone blue submariner that was offered for $19k was listed as a 2022 new model (41mm 126613LB), but it is actually a 2009-2020 model 116613LB (40mm 116613LB) You can tell this easily by the gold text on the dial and the thicker lugs that it’s a 40mm not the new 41mm. The 116613lb watch that was shown you’ll see starting in the 13k-14k range on Chrono24. Overall many of the prices that were given are fair prices for a retail buyer to pay given the current market that’s pulled back from a tough economy.

The price on the batgirl also never touch 30-33k not even on chrono24 where the price is already higher than the market value. I like Peter a lot, but my man need to do more research before selling watches. This is probably one of the most expensive 116610BLNR pre-owned without card that you could find on the internet to be honest(it's not a bargain in anyway). I would say that the swiss only 16700 w/ papers is a good price at 10k. They're currently selling for around 13-15k at the moment. I have never seen them north of 15 though, LOL, and trust me I've been watching ;)
The problem i see with the insurance is the glass shouldnt have been that easy to break they might say why wasnt secured glass used,its like it was plain glass securing a store with hundreds of millions inside🤷🏻♂️
The problem with insurance is everyone pays monthly for somethings that is required by law and then God for bid you need to use it and they leave you high and dry. It was security glass, the robbers used massive sledge hammers and had plenty of time to break through. The insurance policy would be based on the exact type of security systems that are installed and would be specified in the contract, vault type, security glass level (i.e. ASTM and/or UL rating), etc. The reason they haven't paid out on the claim is because it's a standard insurance company tactic. On a multi million dollar claim every day they can delay paying out is another day that they can collect the interest/earnings on that money. Such large claims often require threats of litigation before the insurance company actually pays out on the claim.

Depends how long you’ve been sitting on something. Businesses will often sell at cost or a slight loss to move something. It’s better to get something than nothing at certain point. Put the money into fresh inventory. There are also write offs when you lose money in certain situations

Just find it very hard to believe he purchased these a while back and will be losing anything on these watches when the prices jumped so much within the last 6 months. Additionally, these guys buy watches at fairly low prices, definitely under the market value at the time of purchase. Just take a watch to a seller and see how much they offer you below market value
He's losing money in the sense that, he "CAN" sell these at higher prices if he wants to. He just chooses not to= loses money. Not that he's paying anything from this pocket, obviously.

Thats the moment my dad opened the save. Aim a jewelry designer myself, and for the last 42 years, every time the doorbell rings aim ready to fight. You never know when they come, you only know that they will come!

I would say that the swiss only 16700 w/ papers is a good price at 10k. They're currently selling for around 13-15k at the moment. I have never seen them north of 15 though, LOL, and trust me I've been watching ;)

The problem i see with the insurance is the glass shouldnt have been that easy to break they might say why wasnt secured glass used,its like it was plain glass securing a store with hundreds of millions inside🤷🏻♂️
That should be in the contract. When my alarm broke I immediately called to tell them and give back my 10% discount.
The problem with insurance is everyone pays monthly for somethings that is required by law and then God for bid you need to use it and they leave you high and dry. Insurance is a joke, if they appreciated their customers this would’ve been resolved immediately. Everyone is just policy numbers to them

It was security glass, the robbers used massive sledge hammers and had plenty of time to break through. The insurance policy would be based on the exact type of security systems that are installed and would be specified in the contract, vault type, security glass level (i.e. ASTM and/or UL rating), etc. The reason they haven't paid out on the claim is because it's a standard insurance company tactic. On a multi million dollar claim every day they can delay paying out is another day that they can collect the interest/earnings on that money. Such large claims often require threats of litigation before the insurance company actually pays out on the claim.

Depends how long you’ve been sitting on something. Businesses will often sell at cost or a slight loss to move something. It’s better to get something than nothing at certain point. Put the money into fresh inventory. There are also write offs when you lose money in certain situations
@@sdb87149 I agree with what you're saying, especially when it comes to writing off losses in a business. Just find it very hard to believe he purchased these a while back and will be losing anything on these watches when the prices jumped so much within the last 6 months. Additionally, these guys buy watches at fairly low prices, definitely under the market value at the time of purchase. Just take a watch to a seller and see how much they offer you below market value
He's losing money in the sense that, he "CAN" sell these at higher prices if he wants to. He just chooses not to= loses money. Not that he's paying anything from this pocket, obviously.

My dad was a jewelry shop owner. They came in one day with pistols, and ordered my dad to open the safe but he refused. They took me as a 8 year old and put my head in the oven and put on the gas. Thats the moment my dad opened the save. Aim a jewelry designer myself, and for the last 42 years, every time the doorbell rings aim ready to fight. You never know when they come, you only know that they will come!

Thats one way to look at it. Another way is that he needs cash quicks and is unloading inventory at or just below current market prices. I guarantee you that he cant get those prices if he was selling to another dealer. These are not bargains like they are trying to make you think.

It's actually not even a real batgirl. That's a batman with a jubilee bracelet swap. So this is a batman without the original bracelet, without box, without papers. 19.5k suddenly does not seem like such a good deal anymore.

That's crazy these guys are feeling like that in the nice parts of LA. Peter Marco is strapped like that too. NYPD would never be letting robbers run around freely like that in the nice parts of NYC. LAPD must really be spread thin or don't care. City must really think it's such a destination spot that nobody will leave but watch the recession get worse and LA let more of this stuff keep happening these rich people will get fed up and start leaving for New York, Miami, San Fran etc... then the people running the city will start to feel it when the big money starts leaving.
