Hey, has this website generated you any significant income? I clicked on it and so far it seems a little janky... (React App and favicon in the tab window)

@@adityagarg2185 no, it made a few bucks but since then Amazon has implemented an identical feature. I'd like to do a video sometime bc the backend was rather neat and it cost nothing (uses lambda). Also - I'm not a great designer as you can see!

I've recently viewed a couple of other youtube channels and so far from the couple of videos I've watched none of them don't break it down to the bare bones of what SQL really is? its usually a youtuber instructing you to download my "mysql" or or some other application to download, then they provide a poor tutorial on the subject by over explaining the subject. I appreciate the simplicity of how you introduce the subject matter. The video was simple and to the point and wasn't over elaborate, thank you.

Great video! It even helped me understand the Join Tables function in ArcGIS! I really appreciate the visual here. Trying to get traction teaching myself GIS and indexing has not been easy. There are so many amazing open source programs and free education tools out there, but so much of it doesn't start with properly orienting the student. Context, application examples, and visuals are really helpful. :)
Quick question: What language would you suggest I learn for library/museum indexing? I want to be able to sort collections, extract data I can put into tables, and then use those tables to potentially create visual representions of the data through ArcGIS. I am working on learning Python right now. I am not sure that will be enough, though.

Oh and to your question, I would definitely recommend Python if you're asking about languages. Its user friendly, it integrates into things like Excel and you can literally do anything in it. I've gone from basic data analysis to building my own website in not much time. Bon fortuna!

PL-SQL and Transact-SQL are scoring the very similar special casus for keyword SELECT. Instruction SELECT...FOR XML (by attributes like RAW, AUTO or Explicit similar to the common on whole SQL COMMIT and ROLLBACK and implicite-explicite in C++) is able to check whole ontology (including XML Schemas) and validate informations even same good as scrpit by Perl, Ruby on Rails, Python or Jython (the etc) ... UNION and UNION ALL are same on both Oracle and Microsoft version. Personally I do not know how by PL-SQL can be check or search XML information datagram document, but SELECT INTO is very similar to this case, which can be used similar to the Trigger. Excellent as sum up can be introduction to LINQ, best as always are free compilers, parsers and validators on our WWW`s ... Before ontologies we had LISP, DATALOG and PROLOG ... Knowledge data bases and data mining is the future, but also alredy done and implemented ...

ive been learning sql, i worked in a transport office where they used access and excel and it just didnt work, so I thought id have ago at building a full transport and warehouse db, which so far works easier and better. However with the db built, would you have to build a gui or some software to use it externally? As ppl who cant use sql wont know how to do it, however if they had a simple userface, it would just need inserting and would update itself

Theres actually some tools where you could pre-load excel macros to pull or update data connected to the SQL database. A connection like ODBC can help hook up excel to your database

There are also gui tool like alteryx, microsyrategy and cognos if your company will pay for licensing

James, i am new to IT field i have no experience at all, can you give me a guidance as to how and where i should start, as i am planning to get certified in DBA.
    Thanks in advance!

Well there are many, many paths and I am not an expert on IT careers. However if you would like to become a certified DBA I would say some sort of cloud certification would be an excellent companion. Many companies are in the cloud and many more are transitioning. I subscribe to acloud.guru which I've found helpful passing AWS certs

I'm a data analyst just learning SQL if I want to practice this at home what do I need to download? How and where do I access the platform to enter the SQL code. Also with the tables how to I name them, I assume it's easy if they are in Excel. First off?

    • @machinelearninginterview
      @machinelearninginterview  5 років тому

Yes, you can load excel data into a SQL database for practice. However, there are a lot of datasets already in sqllite format that would be easier to import. I'd recommend downloading sqlite and sqlite studio and then using a Kaggle dataset. Here's an example with food reviews from Amazon: www.kaggle.com/snap/amazon-fine-food-reviews. You can use sqlite studio to import the data

New to SQL but why does the RED values get filtered in the other columns aswell? Since you only specified where Blue column RED

RED shouldn't get filtered in other columns but I could have made a mistake in my graphic. Do you have a timestamp?

@@machinelearninginterview Well maybe im missunderstanding something simple. But at 4.47 there is 6 "rows" in every column ( column_blue, column_orange, column_yellow and column_green). Then at at 4.50 all columns now have only 4 "rows", not just the blue column that you specified.

Group By looks for same values in Blue column right? I wish you used names or other ways to indicate the blue column, for example maybe it was warehouse numbers warehouse 1, warehouse 2, warehouse 3, warehouse 1, and you somehow had two of these (maybe because you used Union) so now you are combining two warehouse 1 stock quantity reported by different workers. I love your simple explanation but we to explain to people how SQL or basic database can be utilized on day to day operation. Most people have no clue how to utilize sql. They think it's complicated and requires a lot of investment, while it's just a fancy excel.

Yeah, that's fair. Sometimes trying not to be specific makes it more confusing. And agreed on the utilization point. Soon I'm hoping to make more technical videos but also some less technical concept videos for data & analysis. Stay tuned!
