‘92 & ‘93 legendary, Blue Jays became the first team to go b2b since the 70’s.
The Blue Jays was so close for a World Series appearance in 2015
@@user-gg5td1dk2w Blue Jays did. Oakland won 3 in a row from 72-74. Cincinnati won in 75-76
The Braves are the only team to win a World Series in 3 different cities: Boston in 1914, Milwaukee in 1957, and Atlanta in 1995, and one is all they've won based in each city.
Lol but true
kinda sad how they only won 1/5 appearances in the 90s
@@jafraud Yep. I don't know if it's a pattern, but they seem to win a World Series every 40 years. Based on that, their next world title should come sometime around 2034.
For right now, that is a record that cannot be broken. The only other MLB team that has played in three cities is the Athletics, and while they won multiple times in Philadelphia and Oakland, they didn't come close to winning anything while in Kansas City. The only way they could tie is if they move yet again (which is improbable, but not impossible).
@@jafraud They were almost the Bills of the 90's also.
Man the Yankees and Dodgers plaid against each other in a lot of World Series.
11 to be exact
@@jaydoneash2098 yeah and dodgers lost 8 of them dominated like the lakers are 3-10 I believe against the Celtics all time.
I forgot about Lakers and Celtics. They faced each other more become there was less teams and less composition. The Canadians or Mapleleafs. Or what ever team in the early days was just 6 or 8. My memory is not the same. I digress but the greatest team ever. Is. New England Patriots. I say this as a Bears fan. It is the greatest Dynasty ever. And further more Tommy gun 1n with another team as well.
And Mapleleafs I was typing 2 fast. My bad.

Not big into baseball but even I know there had to be huge heartbreak in the 2011 World Series for Rangers
They were an inch away from the World Series if that outfielder had caught the ball
Yup ain't that the truth
They were also one strike away in the next inning, but the Cardinals just wouldn’t go away.
Every baseball video gotta have a non baseball fan
They should just change to the Dallas Rangers. They'd probably win a ws. Texas is to huge to have 1 team represent the whole country sized state. Plus they have Houston in the AL
Friday, February 29 occurs only once every 28 years.
The Phillies have two World Series wins, both in years that had a Friday, February 29.
By that logic, their next world championship will come in 2036.
Sounds like an espn stat lol
It’s every four years
@@Meerkat2112 February 29 occurs once every four years. There are seven days in a week, and Leap Day falls back two days every time it happens. For example, 02/29/2020 was a Saturday, 02/29/2024 will be a Thursday, 02/29/2028 will be a Tuesday (Mardi Gras, in fact), and 02/29/2032 will be a Sunday. Every 4 years x 7 days of the week = 28 years between occurrences of February 29 on a particular day of the week.
@@hermanuslemmer1695 ah ok. I see you know about Mardi Gras as well.
Holy shit, the Yankees needa chill out
@@MrStimpage Cardinals with 11 also is impressive.
@@MrStimpage Yup, it might me their small market. Yankees and RedSox get all the praise. Even the Dodgers with half their rings.
Oakland A’s??? We got 9
I mean that’s impressive since we a big time small market team
@@Grievous_ The A's 9 is very impressive also. That's why I'm hoping you keep your team in Oakland.
As a Yankees fan, I find it interesting that they won 18 before 1961
As a non-Yankee fan who nevertheless admires what they have done over the years, I find find it interesting that the Yankees did not win an American League PENNANT until 1921, when they also won their first World Series. It's hard to imagine their going 20 years without a pennant, but about the only star they had in the pre-Ruth era was Jack Chesbro.
baseball only started being good in 1968.
You a a tiger fan? Why 1968?
And 0 until babe Ruth came along
Same here
Parity is strong in baseball right now. Starting in 2000, we’ve had two separate streaks of 6+ unique champions (2000-2006) and 2014-?. Currently on a 7 year streak and counting.
No other big 4 sport can claim that
Except the NHL
Also every baseball team (but my poor, poor Mariners) have been to a world series, which is even more astounding
Why some game series more than usual 7 games? Inning or Games play? Thx
I remember the days back when the giants and cardinals ruled the NL. It takes me back to when I was just a little kid
Imagine being a life long Brookyln Dodgers fan in the first half of the 20th century "in the shadows" of the Yankees and Giants, seeing your team lose the World Series to the Yanks 5 times in 12 years and finally getting to see your team win it all in 1955....only to see them move two years later to the other side of the country, and subsequently win 3 World Series titles in just 6 years.
From what I've read, a popular question in late 1950s Brooklyn was "If you were given a gun with two bullets and taken into a room with Hitler, the devil, and Walter O'Malley (the owner of the Dodgers who moved them), who would you shoot?" The answer was "O'Malley, twice!"
Love the background music!

Yankee fans who miss the 20th century have Hal Steinbrenner to thank
Go Yankess
Yankees went from Yay to *pbhtt*
Got that right!
@@vexxfulomega9 Here's one. As a Yankee fan myself, they really took a dive in the mid '60s. 1964 was the last time they'd go to the postseason till 1976, and from '65-'67, they posted losing records, finishing last in the American League in 1966 (divisions didn't start till '69). They went 83-79 in '68, 80-81 the next year, and in 1970, they went 93-69, finishing 2nd in the AL East, 15 games behind the eventual world champion Baltimore Orioles.
Posting February 3, 2022. here's hoping they can do it this year. Man, I fondly remember the most recent dynasty, which ran from the waning years of the 20th century to the early years of the 21st. Say what you will about George Steinbrenner, but he had not only a commitment to excellence (what a trite phrase), but a commitment on STEROIDS!
I would’ve preferred to have seen the original logos of each team as opposed to their current ones. But...who cares I still loved it!!!

Just came here to say that the Oakland A's are probably the most underrated sports franchise.
9 World Series, third most of all time. The only other team besides the Yankees to win 3 consecutively. They have more World Series wins than their bigger market neighbors (Giants and Dodgers), popularized moneyball/analytics, and are able to becompetitive on a shoe string budget. Does a team this majestic deserve to play in that dump of a stadium?
I know, I love Oakland, who knows even this year they could win the world series
They're gonna end up leaving Oakland just like the Raiders because the city refuses to build a new stadium for ANY team apparently. The literally let the raiders walk cause they didn't wanna build a new stadium after like 40 years.
In 1988 the Dodgers beat the A's 4-1 not 4-2.
That was an iconic world series they shouldve got that one right
That WS was like a football game.. one mistake ,, .. pitch to gibson. The As blew a chance to go up 2-0 going into oakland
Seems to be the yankees, habs, celtics and lakers have the most championship wins of there sport
The Green Bay Packers won 9 NFL championships before there were any Super Bowls. Add in their 4 Super Bowl wins, and they have 13 total.
@@AHermes03
Patriots
@@AHermes03 sorry but Pats tied you're 6 in 18 yrs. And 4 of those Steelers championships were 50 yrs ago. Pats did it from 02-19. And they almost went undefeated only to lose by 3. 9 sb appearances in 18 yrs. And they dominated the Steelers at Heinz field in 2 AFC championship games. Pats are more impressive. Then Brady goes to the Bucs and wins his 7th. Bradys got more than the Steelers. 😂

Who cares. Football is gay anyway.
Fun fact. The 1992 and 1993 Toronto Blue Jays have the only titles won by a Canadian baseball team in MLB history.
If the strike of '94 had never happened, it could've been THREE years in a row that the World Series trophy went north of the border - Montreal had the best record in the MLB (74-40) at the time of the strike. To this day, fans in Montreal are still bitter over the strike screwing them out of a potential World Series appearance. (The fact that the team would win the World Series as the Washington Nationals in 2019 certainly didn't help matters either...)
