We have all been teenagers hoping to leave a mark in this world. But that is a dream that very few of us will be able to fulfill. This is Damiano's natural voice. Their Italian production is deeper, because Italian is Damiano's mother tongue. Also a slower tempo ryhthm allows you to convey more complex notions than an uptempo song.

Great reaction! You could go next for "La paura del buio" (Radio Italia Live) which is available with English lyrics.

all Maneskin's songs are of good quality especially the lyrics - someone has already requested La Paura Del Buio this song in my view present's Damiano's vocals and lyrics at their best (and it's also my favourite).

I absolutely loved this analysis. These lyrics are indeed poetry, a very special band with so many talents. It's unusual to find music that delivers richly on all levels. If you enjoyed this, try Torna a casa, La Paura del Buio and Lividi Sui Gomiti. They all have rich lyrics and give you real insight into the desires, fears and insecurities of the writer. For context, Damiano is the lyricist of the band and when he writes, he aims to represent both his own views and those of the whole band who often mention that their common values and goals are what unites them as friends and as a band.

Now, you can jump on a much much more angry and hard rock song of them: IN NOME DEL PADRE.
They have had to faith hardly to follow their idea of future, passions, art... there are a few songs about that and "In nome del padre" also need to be listened with translated LYRICS
p..s. They have several beautiful songs in English (not just Italian)

The desperation to express something through their music… keep that in mind when you will react to one of their most beautiful ballads.. TORNA A CASA.. when you will hear in all their songs the name MARLENA, it will refer to their muse, the personification of their need to exist through the urgent need to compose and express what they have inside

Very good comments !! This truly is poetry, same as for Coraline. Although I am much older, this song touches me - and I would love all 20 year olds to listen to it. A very amazing band, Maneskin !

When you are very young and led by emotions it's hard to deal with all the people who try to kill your spirit, your hopes, your dreams, you don't know if you are strong enough to fight them and remain true to yourself and to your dreams. and not become a bitter person like those you are fighting. it's a moment in life when everyone feels very lonely against the world.

Before you do another reaction, be prepared that all their songs varies a lot. Some of them have heavier sound, some of them quite sexualised. They are versatile, and you should expect the unexpected 😆 But one thing remains: strong vocals and instrumental parts. Enjoy your journey with Måneskin ☺

Hello friend if you want to be impressed by the vocals, personality and soul, check the cover of BACK TO BLACK when they were very very young, or the live performance of LA PAURA DEL BUIO/FEAR OF THE DARK.. there are so many other beautiful songs to react to..

Congratulations Jim for your channel and meaningful reactions to this wonderful Maneskin band, that I appreciate so much too in all levels.
Regarding to their lyrics, there's an interesting interview of them on the occasion of winning the Best Lyrics Award at the Eurovision 2021 contest for their "Zitti e Buoni" song, that ended up winning the song contest too. Here's the link of the interview:

Love your reactions 🙂 you're right, Damiano, the vocalist, is a real poet. I find especially the italian songs so profound, and the english ones more fun and a little.more comercial. You should check the live version of vent'anni at xfactor (its a little different)....also torna a casa the vevo unplugged version since i know you loved the song and in this unplugged version you can.hear the rasp and the raw emotions in Damiano's voice so clear. Also, la paura del buio, you can find a live version with english subs. Also,.their winning performance at eurovision (the one with over 65 mil views).

He’s not apologising, he’s asking for forgiveness.... very wrong translation.
Perdonare (Italian) = To Forgive (English)

Hi Jim ,I'm happy that you reacted and analyzed the lyrics of Coraline and Vent'anni, always acute and never superficial in your interpretations, fully understanding the message of their lyrics.
There are other songs in Italian that are very interesting both as lyrics and as melody such as
    "la paura del buio"
    "Le parole lontane"
    "lividi sui gomiti"
    Very nice song is also
"Morirò da rè" for this song I recommend you to watch the original video clip
But there are also songs in English that I recommend you listen to (I list them according to my personal preference)
    For your love
    Close to the top
    New Song
    Chosen
    I wanna be your slave
    Fear no body
And covers like "Begins" (the Madcon version also cover of the original version by Frankie Valli and Four Seasons) which tops the charts of many countries around the world
I take this opportunity to renew the congratulations for your excellent job
Congratulations also for the Headwear, I have seven of that brand and they are very beautiful

Thank you for your reaction. Your understanding of the meaning of the song is pretty good considering the translation was not 100% accurate. My favourite of their latest album Teatro d’Ira is a song called La paura del buio. For me it feels a little like the sequel to Vent’Anni because Damiano is again talking about discovering the unknown, the dark or il buio in Italian. It stands for not going down the well-trodden path, i.e. the classic 9 to 5 job, but exploring other ways of finding your life’s goal. Here is the link to a video which contains cc subtitles in English ua-cam.com/video/eG-bBYiVWWM/v-deo.html
Oh and before I forget, I should warn you, you will get goosebumps by the end of the song.

The point is making is that when you are very young you cannot wanting to make money to want materialistic things , that is wanting so little from life, you have to dream big, if people stop dream big we would have musicians, astraunats, film directors, brain surgens, nobel prices etc. At the age of 20 you have all the doors open you can try to be whatever you want an don't waist time but run and do things for yourself, chase your dreams. This is a message to the people of his age.

I am probably in a minority here (I also understand where this kind of writing comes from: Italy has a strong tradition of singers/songwriters in folk-rock and rock music, years ago it was very political and engaged) - but I am actually more interested in the guitar work, in the instruments and musicianship. Lyrics and the amazing vocals are certainly a plus. But I really think what’s very good here is the balance of it all.

Damiano was sort of prophetic with his lyrics, as we are all talking about him and the band, as in the "tomorrow" line of the song.

please react to "In nome del padre" here is the link with lyrics translated ua-cam.com/video/MblwRJi3r6k/v-deo.html it is a very powerful song and really hard rock but with deep lyrics... and some swear word
