If I was a Blizz dev and was taksed with creating a barrier to the copypasted city for decoration purposes (like Ironforge here), I would definitely leave one NPC standing inside in its original place and make it sell some sort of unobtainable item (not a gamebreaking GM item, but something you could literally not get in all the rest of the game, like an old mount or something). Might even make a quick quest and lore for it. Would that get me fired? Probably. Would that make for a mind-boggling discovery by players months or years later? Most certainly! Creating history for the game is most valuable.
Interesting about the throne room, its the single throne from pre-Cata when Magni still ruled Ironforge. The current IF has three throne seats. Great video, just subbed. :)
23:12 I think the developers accidentally raised the map of dun morough up too much were anvilmar is inaccessible or they moved anvilmar down by accident
That moose mount in dragonflight mode is janky af. You clip through stuff with that thing without even trying. It's got a strange landing thing where you're almost 80% in the floor if you land at high speeds and then you pop straight out but I have clipped through stuff (and got DC) purely by accident at least 5 or 6 times.
#glitch here is an idea go out of bounds in the battle for mount hyjal raid I tried but failed but maybe since you have the sandbox griffon and the pillows you may have success using those because I tried the brute force method using dracthyr flying breath attack infernal strike metamorphosis and all failed you may also seesaw your way out of bounds I don't know what invis barrier they used but it's very tough but maybe you will be tougher 🚧
I'm pretty sure they 'cut' a square piece out of the world at nice, round coordinate values. Far enough away so notable mountain ranges remain visible, and there's no real harm cutting slightly further. Why cut at point 195.386 if you can just cut at 196, or at 200? Beyond that, keeping something like Ironforge is not too surprising - the door is visible from the scenario, and the exterior of the door and the whole interior are probably the same model. But they did not keep the hole in the terrain which allows you to enter, which is why it appears locked up. That also applies to the buildings in the dwarf starting area, and probably also to the ones in the dwarf 6-10 town which you didn't explore. I'm more surprised that gnomeregan was open; most likely its entrance is visible from the scenario proper.
They do not really "add" anything manually outside of the scenario specific stuff. They just go into their world editor and copy a chunk of land they want to use for a scenario. They copy a square large enough to cover the sight lines and then paste it into a new empty map, add all relevant scenario stuff and then add some barriers. So no, they don't "add" anything, it just they are too lazy to remove stuff that got copied and pasted along no one will see anyway.

These kinds of ideas sadly don't work in the modern era when wowhead posts the whole patch datamined 2 months in advance

I've been binging your videos while farming spider silk in Vanilla. 2+ hours and I've only gotten 5 lol
Such timely references. 🤣
Would be neat if you could fish in Ironforge and get credit for the rare fish achievement xD
