nice vid man. thats damn cold im happy here in Vancouver it doesnt get that bad. Right now its getting up to 12 degrees out here. how do u like the hitachis for power. I run a little hitachi 225 uslc-3 and i think it lacks in power compared to a komatsu 228 or cat 320
Hi vantagetes, I gave not bothered you with any silly questions lately, as I understand more about what you do, aren't you the lucky one! ;-) . I have wondered apart from the recent updates to the machines, how can you be sure to be digging horizontally, is it just done by eye, or are you working from some grade markers I/we cant see? Take care and once again thanks for the upload. mrbluenun
I think it's cool you canooks accept the cold instead of fighting it like us in the states. Government forces you to shut down in winter when we could be bulkin dirt like this after a good frost. Great vids happy subscriber.
Jonathan Savoy those are tiger teeth used for hard soil (frozen in this case). they take the normal 7 tooth bucket and change it into a 14 tooth bucket. it puts more pressure on a smaller area makes it go through dirt better.
Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't it be just as easy, and safer for the trucks, to dig out the middle/right first, then pull that corner in, between trucks?
That last truck was just a little tricker aye
Thanks for explaining a little about what and why and how.
I liked it before i even watched it because i know its gona be another great vid.!

They are called tiger teeth and are for hard digging, for example rock or in our case thick frost. Man do they ever chew through frozen dirt!
Scroll allllll the way up to the part where it has the video, then look at the words right above it.

Are there any machines out there that just have open cabs? If there is it must suck for the operater
Stakes won't even help if you don't have the eye. You either have it or your don't, it's not something that can be taught or learned.
what are you running?
Rocks and earth in the frozen tundra soil.
We have -25°C here in finland
where do u guys work
I bet them Tiger Teeth Are Pretty Expensive I know The Regular Ones sure cost Enough .
Nope we run large rocks or spare buckets to scrape them out.
No more Kidco?
you dont work for kidco no more?
Doesnt look like one of your usual rides?
Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't it be just as easy, and safer for the trucks, to dig out the middle/right first, then pull that corner in, between trucks?
