Interesting, as I hadn’t seen dry land rice planting, only the wet planting of rice seedlings in northwestern Vietnam. I was briefly in Ban Na village in early December of 2023, after the rice harvest and walked through those same fields.
A Korean UA-camr lives in Van na village and knows this village from his videos. In this video, we saw a new way of farming-planting rice. It's amazing :)
生長在老撾北部高山的秈糯米。 這種水稻在刀耕火種和缺水的山區生長良好。 The rice in the video is Indica glutinous rice grown in the high mountains of northern Laos. This rice grows well in slash-and-burn and in mountainous areas where water is scarce.

The Lao word for thunder is ຟ້າຮ້ອງ faa hong. "Sky Sing" I like that.

這是沒有水利工程灌溉系統的旱田在種植旱稻米嗎？只能看天吃飯，稻子成長時雜草也會跟著成長，這樣收成會很差……
老挝农村基本靠天吃饭，山多，虽然人口稀少，约700万，面积正好和广西一样大，广西人口5000万，但老挝山多，农地不多，老挝人貌似不愿折腾，有口饭吃就满足，不贪求过多，安贫乐道之地。
@@gosimple9 老撾鐵路開通了，老撾現在國家管理不在工業人才目前不足 他的經濟命脈應該是現代農業發展，老撾有近1000萬公頃農地目前還開發不到100萬公頃農地，應該是先建設水電站水庫 農田水利灌溉系統工程 農田農路規劃整建 （台灣50年前也是這樣子建設起來的）中國有是主要銷售市場，老撾氣候發展農業是天時地利之便，好好管理平均產量會比台灣好太多了……
