As a person who is difficult to impress and make listen to some music on repeat, I have to admit, this song is one of the best I've ever heard. There's something in it. From the usual instrumental playing, to vocals and lyrics. I especially like the fact that this song plays in one of the best TV shows of the time, in my opinion
I agree 100%. If I had to guess, it's the mix of a recognizable, consistent tune and a rhythm that fits any context. From my experience, I listen to this on a bad day, it sound distant, bitter sweet, and it reminds me of a happier time. But on a good day, it's a jovial, hopeful beat with the promise of something exciting. I can't explain it really. Maybe that's why it fits Better Call Saul so much. One minute, the show is the following the underdog Jimmy McGill, the other, it shows the rise of a bitter, hollow shell that is Saul and Gene.
I think it would have fit in the credits. The riff starts during the last shot as Jimmy sees Kim walking away for the last time, the song continues through the credits
Damn hearing the full song really feels good. I only started watching BCS last year and it was a rough time. This show made me feel so many emotions. Me recreating scenes in my head, acting like I was Kim lol, and etc of stupid things I did in my free time while doing stuff in college.
I think this so g is a warning not to go down his path. The first bit "if there is any thought, better think of me, for a little support, at a time of need it'll be a no, not a chance." Is saying how people used to go to him for help and support, and now he simy can't do that. The second verse about him stepping off the grid and cutting ties is when he has to get a new identity at the end of breaking bad. The love this winter breeze line is about how he enjoys the colder weather of the new state he had to move to. Finally, take what you learned and what you need is a warning to the listeners to take the lessons in better call Saul and not become greedy and corrupt as he has.
Interesting take on it. We have one day more to find out! More for me actually, I have an Apple TV season pass for BCS and I don't get the new episodes until tuesday.

"Take what you learn and what you need" - I'm fairly certain it's "not", not "and". I'm also not sure it's "learn" either, it's probably "love".
