Hi Shaun …you’ll wanna read this…do you remember being left stranded by your boat captain on Lakeba island in Fiji during the Fiji Quiksilver tour in the 90’s? Do you remember that Fijian boy at the boat jetty that took you and your companions to his house and you gave his mother some SA Rand because you guys had only foreign currency and bank cards at the time? That Fijian boy is my best friend and we live in New Zealand now. He is actually one of the highest chiefs in the Lau Island group. His name is Tevita/David(or sometimes known by his chiefly title, Ratu, and his uncle was actually the Fijian president at the time, Ratu Mara. He remembers taking you to the airport and the flight was cancelled due to a plane crash, so he billeted you all at his house, called Lolopaogo. I showed him a video of you and he recognised you instantly. He said you were the only one who would not drink alcohol and remembered you are of Jewish heritage. And his mother made fried fish for all of you. She has sadly since passed away. He said you guys gave him a bunch of your gear when you left. He never forgot you and when he told me the story, I had to try to connect you two. He sends you his best regards. “Ni sa bula vinaka , Shaun.. Kalougata jiko” It means: “Greetings, life and health, Shaun. Bless you.” Thanks Shaun Tim (I’m from Illovo Beach, originally)
You will always be the ledgend 🤘🍻, growing up you were always an inspiration to me and others I used to surf with, thanks for being the guy who pushed us to charge
Superb human.......blows my mind that this doesn’t have 2 million views and every surfer of today just in awe. My bet is nobody knows about it. It will go there at some point just going to take the right person to share it.
I just got so inspired! I’m going to start my I will list and I am going to try and start living the code.🙂 Hello , I’m a new subscriber to your channel. I’m digging around my stuff looking for that card you gave me at the point 35 years ago. Yeah I kept it. You are awesome.🙂
Looked like MR dropped in on him to me. I imagine that was a lesson in your head ,right Mr. Tompson? And now you’re teaching it to us, thank you Loyal❤️ I’m working on my code now thank you
Broke my knee hitting the bottom surfing Pipeline. My friend's brother died there. It's dangerous. But it also gives an experience that makes the risk worth it.
