We visit Futuroscope theme park, near Poitiers in France. May 2016.
Futuroscope, as the name suggests, features many buildings housing a large number of cinema, IMAX, 3D, 4D, 4DIMAX, planetarium, and simulator type attractions. There is an obvious futuristic theme with the architecture and design throughout the park.
Danse Avec Les Robots is a Kuka robot-arm ride, 12 of them actually as featured on another video, please visit channel and subscribe!
There is also a gyro observation tower, a number of self-operated rides from manufacturers Heege, and the Aerobar, among the many other attractions.
At night in the central arena overlooking the lake, there is a spectacular show, which is performed in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, and includes many special effects, lights, lasers, fountains, fire, and a Citroen 2CV driving on water!
I first visited Futuroscope in 1987, its inaugural year, while on an exchange programme with a French student from Angoulême I spent the following three summers with, Stephane DeVille. 'Combien de Temps' by Stephane Eicher was a hit in France that summer and so became the soundtrack for my visit back then, and again in 2016.
Col, this video is incredible! Love your selfie cam work and the various time-lapses. I would be in my element in the indoor robotic arm area with the club lights and of course at the night time show. I haven't ridden a Rock'n'Roll yet, but I saw a bit in your video around 4:00 that resembled that :-)

The loopy ride has a similar motion to a Rock&Roll, but is a self-operated contraption! - You get in & lock the bar, then the next rider closes the gate & presses a button. Once they have done this you get 1 circuit over a couple of small bumps, & 2 buttons which control which way you roll!
A Rock & Roll ride ought be a lot faster & last a couple of minutes at least! During which you have to rock the car back & forth until it has enough momentum to start rolling with the ride... so while a similar movement, very different experiences. :-)
Oh, they have a butterfly coaster...and Nautic Jets are always fun!
This was also my first chance to ride one of the loopy things, in fact, they had most of the Heege collection bar the pendulum, which I have still to try!
I want to visit this place but it's to far away.
I know how you feel!! But its nice to have the inspiration to visit, and makes the day you finally get there that bit more special! :-)
