Thank you very much, jrcadet4! And I am just delighted to know that there are so many ardent Buckley fans out there, regardless of their opinion of my goofin' the cool in his honor. It takes all kinds; I do look forward, along with you, to their sharing their superior understanding and impersonation of His Lordship--when they post their own readings from the canon. I truly hope they post a link or two that we may be enlightened!
Fortunately for me, not too many in my audiences have seen the clips of the real deal. This was shot during Chuck Pike's "Return of the Hip Messiah," staged at Second City here in Chicago in 1999, and had to maintain his energy and verbosity for over two hours, and this piece was near the end of the show. There were other characters (Del Close, Severn Darden, Ed Sullivan, etc.) but half of the show was comprised of his routines. I'm doing "The Bugbird" on Hallowe'en night at The Green Mill...
Thanks for your comment, fuzzynippleman. May you always remain the same overpunctuated, illogical, and violent self... And may no one ever steal your excellent--if over informative--profile name...
kmrc? interesting handle--in Chicago AFTRA/SAG (actors unions) have a resource center call the Kauffher Member Recourse Center, and having been on the KMRC committee, I've typed that acronym hundreds of times... as for Jim, I haven't spoken to him for a while; but he's still living and working here in Chicago. I left a message on his answering machine with your name and that you were trying to reach him. Have a great day. Richard
..and thanks for the compliments, sir or madam. I hope you will peruse my interpretations of Mark Twain's work--not so much on my youtube channel (as all but a couple of clips here are 25+ years old) but more recently my work on The Mark Twain In Person Audiobook Library, easily googled on the web, with numerous samples, titles, and free downloads.
rhenz...I was stationed with Jim Sikora over in Nurnberg,Germany.I'd love to get in contact with him.I'm on facebook, tell him to look me up.My name is Denton Pomahatch,I'm quite sure he'll remember me.Thanks in advance :)
Some of your critics give themselves waaaay too much credit for knowing Buckley's moves and delivery better than you did in this performance. Let THEM get up there and try it, I say! It's a great piece of work on your part---Cheers!
gone black...not quite the Lord... But stilll, a lot to handle and memorize and lay on somebody. Maybe less body moves and more eyes moves would have helped.
@@rhenz111 With respect Richard ... It's Not!... You must slow down!... Savour the words!... as Lord Buckley always did... Modulate... Vary the pitch... What makes you so unintelligible is the constant high pitched monotonous delivery... Richard Buckley had a wonderfully versatile voice... He was essentially a musician... NEVER boring... NEVER monotonous... Light and shade... Listen to 'Jonah and The Whale' below...
My deepest gratitude for your groovy compliment, your majesty. Persevere.
Thanks Theo! You are very kind.
Thank you so much, Zarafraze.
Thanks, Gun.

I'd rather listen to Buckley doing "the Nazz" than a televangelist, any day.
You got a knack for laying that jive on the cats and kitties, keep it alive, Lord Buckley is smilin down on you CAT!

No... Not a patch on the original... WAYYYYYYY over the top... Not necessary.... WAYYYY too fast... Almost nintelligible.... Awful.😞
And I thought "nintelligibility" was my forte...! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Persevere!
