They even use the sentence “Cloverfoot’s attempts to mediate were only marking things worse.” It’s the only time the word mediate is used in the whole book. Where is Tree?!
Definitely believe Tigerstar is staying in Riverclan over a grudge. Remember he’s still got something against Riverclan because of the catmint they forgot they had, which cost Rowankit his life. I think he feels entitled to be there and doesn’t want to leave so easily because their disorganized clan cost a kit’s life.
as one of the final bramble fans; I'm happy about the PTSD turn in his character! The thing that killed me about recent bramble writing is the dissonance of the team clearly wanting people to take bramblesquirrel as a fiery but healthy relationship but /actually/ writing it as abusive. it was painful to see them stick bramble's character in a terrible cycle of abuse for no reason and pretend it wasn't happening. having the actually horrific experience actually affect bramblestar is a really nice touch and a good way to back down from the characterization mistakes they were making and let his relationship with squirrelflight settle into a more peaceful denouement. I also like how in general, there seems to be a little more focus getting put into the emotional reactions of the cats to what's happening to them. Most previous arc for everything except like, the great battle, everyone seems to shake off whatever happens to them relatively quickly and move on. but in this arc, berryheart, brambleclaw, and even frostpaw are all shown acting out from trauma in different ways. it's a refreshing depth for the books to go into!
Evil!StarClan is a plot I see so much in fan fiction I’m surprised it hasn’t been put in a Super Edition or main series arc yet. I don’t count Ashfur since he was an evil cat who happened to be in StarClan not StarClan as a whole being evil.
I think it'd be cool if they were not evil in a overly cartoony way, but more of manipulating cats in the clans to do their bidding to get more power. And, maybe a few corruption arcs for some Star clan favorites. Idk if they could even make this happen, I only keep up with the books via UA-cam.
That would be interesting for sure, but I doubt it given the prologue in the second book. Even if he wouldn't have said anything concrete, Reedwhisker would have been angrier at his clanmates in StarClan if that was the case.
Somewhat off topic but I’m writing an evil starclan where SkyStar is essentially in charge with his girlboss wife Star flower doing all the strategic manipulating while he just yells at people
I’m praying with all my heart we get Ivypool as deputy, we haven’t seen her hardly at all this arc so I’d love to see her have more relevancy in the latter half of the arc I also actually enjoy how Tigerstar is behaving, I love seeing a stubborn, hard headed leader that’s willing to go against Starclan that ISNT evil or mentally broken I also feel like he’s a modern example of the Firestar trope of getting his nose in everyone’s business trying to help, but going about it aggressively rather than passively
@@jje5713 It's not obvious at all. He hasn't had an apprentice and just got back from trying to join another clan. There's no way Squirrelflight would choose him.
@@siobhannoble8545 I can't see any reason other than that to explore their relationship as much as they did in the previous 3 books My guess is that she would choose lionblaze first (again), and then he would die in some battle. after that she would choose nightheart About the apprendice rule, there's plenty of time to that, we still have 3 books to go
I disagree a bit about Sunbeam- I liked the arc with her mother as someone who loves dearly but butts heads with their mother. Nightheart and her I felt had a lot of chemistry and her affection for him grew as he matured more. I think she deserves a chance to be impulsive for once and do what’s best for her. Also poor Frostpaw. She was definitely too busy reliving the trauma of finding reedwhisker’s body to notice the paws of the cat. Even if she did- and it’s who I think it is (Splashtail) he would’ve found a way around it
I agree with the SunBeam stuff! When reading their first interaction and their interactions during the fetch quest I was actually thinking “hey, this is kinda cute. They’re listening to each other and trust each other. I kinda ship it?”
I feel like Nightheart and Sunbeam did a real 180 this book. In Sky, Nightheart is impulsive and emotional while Sunbeam is more calm and measured, but in this book we have Nightheart talking it out with his family and Sunbeam running to ThunderClan without warning (EXACTLY WHAT NIGHTHEART DID AT THE END OF SKY)
I think Nightheart is still impulsive, given he intentionally failed his test without telling Sunbeam, I don’t like how Sunbeam left Shadowclan to be with him. I hope this will they won’t they story ends in Night and Sun realizing that they love both of their clans too much to abandon them and decide to stay apart
I’m actually so excited for Squirrelstar we’ve waited wayyy too long for her. My only fear is that when Bramble officially retires (or dies?) she’ll just give up bc she has no purpose anymore which I do not like. Tho that’s just a possibility. Not a Bramblestar fan at all but this has been my hope for how he goes out for awhile, tho I hope he says sorry and tries to be better in retirement instead of just suddenly absolved of any responsibility. Hope so badly Sunbeam breaks up with Night. Frost is still working through her arc tho I’m wanting some cat to say that Splashtail’s interest in her is a tad odd. I mean they are similar in age but he actively hung out with her when she was still a young kit and he was already almost a warrior. A little icky but that’s just my opinion. Lovee Tigerheartstar he’s great. If he gets booted out of power I’ll be a big sad cuz he’s pretty right. Probably shouldn’t of taken over Riverclan but also they were struggling and just didn’t take the time to give him the herbs for his dying child. Petty man is great. If he is kicked out Lightleap as leader or Clovertail would be cool. That betters the horrible male to female leader ratio esp if Squilf is made leader as well (personally I want Plumstone as her deputy I think a background female deputy would be cute)
I think it's interesting how we've had the "bad guy's" pov this arc. If the story was told from Thunderclan's side, we'd all be rooting for them to get involved and kick the invading Shadowclan out of Riverclan. But seeing it from Shadowclan's perspective shows that the situation isn't as black and white as that. This makes for a very interesting conflict with no 'evil' clan causing trouble because they're evil.
Squirrelflight has been deputy for the last 12 freakin books, what's gonna change if she becomes leader? I'm honestly tired of her and bramblestar. Looking for something new in thunderclan I was so sure that Bristlefrost would be the next big thing but she died
I think Thunderclan are concerned about Bramblestar stepping down because it breaks with tradition; something that the clans are historically hesitant to accept. The writers better not be teasing us with Squirrelstar just to take it away. Starclan could be their usual unhelpful selves and refuse Bramblestar's request, despite taking back Rowanstar's lives with no fuss. If Squirrelflight does get her nine lives, I hope the cats who subjected her to that ridiculous trial are the ones to give them to her. It would be quite poetic for the same cats who tried to screw her over to have to acknowledge her authority as a clan leader. Maybe Tree has finally fulfilled his destiny of becoming a bush, which is why no one can find him and get him to do his one job.
I like the Nightbeam/Sunheart romance surprisingly as feels a bit more grounded, so will be interesting to get her thoughts on it all in the next book. Since even before Nightheart joined Shadowclan she was thinking of leaving and I do think they go well with each other. Since they both listen to each other compared to most warrior cat relationships, as they don't go down the ditzy route of Bristlefrost I think it could be one of my more favorite relationships next to Dove/tiger and Spark/Lark pretty much. I'm hoping Nightheart doesn't follow after Frostpaw as he should be there for Sunbeam when she does her 3 trials. I imagine they won't be as hard as Berryhearts since Thunderclan tends to be more accepting of outside cats then Berryheart, plus it was nice for Nightheart to get some resolution tbh. Plus it was sweet of him to come back and try to finish the trials, even if on the last one he purposefully failed. Instead of leaving Sunbeam purposefully in the dark, though she was valid to feel mad and I hope she puts him through wringer especially if they wind up together. I'm just hoping they don't pull a bristlefrost as honestly Thunderclan needs fresh blood that isn't the obvious. As for my predictions for Shadow I think it will be a Wind Clan cat that will travel with her as she was knocked out in a patch of tansy next to the wind clan camp, as I think the medicine cats or at least a patrol will find her very quickly which is why she won't die. x3 It's also not a ravine like Shadowsight so cats are bound to pick up riverclan scent and also notice her fur as it is mentioned when she is traveling through the moor her fur stands out. I definitely think it was Splashtail or his lackeys that tried to take her out, I'm just hoping book 4 doesn't treat her as badly as the previous arc treated Shadowsight as I couldn't finish TBC because of how butchered all the characters felt just to bully the poor dude. Plus I would love Frostpaw to become leader as would be a nice end to her arc, as Firestar is the only protagonist with an apprentice to leader arc ever. So would be nice to have again and also finally get non first and second series warriors out of always being leader. As I want fresh blood for once lol. As for Tigerstar 2 I love how he loves cracking jokes to ease the tension and has good intentions if albeit going about it the wrong way, it's enjoyable to read. It's nice to have real antagonists instead of Dark Forest and Ashfurs ghost, it's actual real clan cats for once. As for her not noticing the paws she might recall it eventually but at the time it was overwhelming to her as her first real vision in a very long time. Also agreed Berryheart was a weird choice, but I think he chose her because she is so against outsiders that if they prove themselves even the most racist of the cats can't think up a good reason why this cat should be part of Shadowclan. Squirrelstar will be cool if it does happen and I'm hoping she doesn't chose Ivypool, as I think Poppyfall or Twigbranch would be more interesting as deputies. Plus will finally get rid of the whole every leadership posistion is tied back to Tigerstar or Firestar problem as tired of it as well so so much. x3 Only unique clan for leadership role outside of female leadership would be Wind Clan. But I will say I am interested in the 4th book as this is the first series in a long while that I have been interested in what is happening in Warriors. Just because the characters feel like characters for once instead of cardboard cutouts as each having a unique personality and mindset is interesting but I also think that is due to them finally writing outside Dark Forest plotlines and I hope they keep up this trend through the rest of ASC and into the future.
I love Nightheart and all but I don't think he'll be Riverclan's new leader. That's just stupid imo. Same with Frostpaw being the new leader. She's so young and still an apprentice book 3. The difference between her and Firestar is that he became a warrior book 1 and had the whole rest of the arc to grow and train an apprentice. But Frostpaw just doesn't have that time, and I just wouldn't want her to be leader. At least this arc. Maybe she could be deputy at some point.
I think Sunbeam’s love for Nightheart is moreso from her fear of not having anyone to confide in/not having close friends in Shadowclan. She still has a good relationship with Lightleap and Blazefire, but I think even though she doesn’t have feelings for Blazefire anymore that whole situation put a bad taste in her mouth, plus them and Spireclaw are all coupled up while Sunbeam is alone. Nightheart leaving triggered those emotions from Blazefire all over again and that’s why she was so enraged. So now that she’s found someone to trauma-bond with, she doesn’t want to let go. I feel like her feelings for Nightheart still aren’t romantic and they don’t click very well, and later she’ll have a moment of “oh shit I don’t actually love this cat” at least I hope
I personally headcanon Nightheart as AroAce (totally not projecting). I think he convinced himself he loved Sunbeam because she's the only cat (that isn't related to him) to give him positive attention in his life. So he got attached to Sunbeam and thought he truly loved her. Though I am a sucker for femme NightSun (where Nightheart is a trans molly and actually loved Sun romantically).
I do agree that sunbeam and nightheart's chapters dragged a bit and I'm much less engaged with them than I am with frostpaw's story (and sunbeam going to thunderclan was VERY rushed), but I do actually like how their relationship developed! I feel like they've had more natural, actually dynamic conversations than bristleroot ever had, and I though nightheart's character development was a bit awkwardly paced, I liked that they showed elements of sunbeam being able to bring out the better sides of him - like when they were preparing for the first challenge, sunbeam was able to help him realize he rushes into things and he was comfortable enough with her to admit it and work on doing better - that type of humility to be able to admit his weakness, face it, and do better was something he never experienced in thunderclan. So with that aspect, I do like them a bit more than I like most warriors romances.
They have a great dynamic and it’s great they’ve brought out the best in each other. Hopefully the next book will give us some more of them interacting as a couple without plot going on. Some downtime without plot stuff might spread out the growth so it’s not as quick feeling. It’s weird this book took place over a moon or two and I still feel like their relationship was rushed towards the end despite their obvious chemistry.
i completely forgot about warriorclan what!!!!! they need to include warriorclan in another book the concept is so cool and it’s just used for a few chapters in graystripe’s vow and never again
Dude I actually really liked this book and somehow ended up liking NightSun (and i never liked BristleRoot) but I wish Sunbeam didn’t run away from Shadowclan, and that it took longer for them to get together. Frostpaw later during the book had really good chapters, her vision was so creepy. But I hate FrostSplash, Splashtail is bad but he’s a good character, I like having dislikable characters. Bramblestar during this book was sad, but I’m glad he can step down. I DO NOT think Squirrelflight will become leader,I just don’t think the writers would make a 10 year old super prolific character a leader
I feel like NightSun would grow on me if they had some more chapters together just spending time in ShadowClan. They have good chemistry as friends it’s just the romantic part I’m still hesitant to say I’m a fan of. I can see why ppl like the ship tho it’s very cute and they’d be excellent mates if they had been born into the same clan. Big agree on how long it took them to get together, one more Sunbeam chapter dedicated to their relationship might have helped with the pacing. FrostSplash is a bad ship cause Splashtail is very pushy about getting her to be a medicine cat again. He’s a good character (very sneaky, probably evil) but Frostpaw is too good for him and she can do better 💅 Definitely wouldn’t be that surprised if Squirrelflight decides to retire with Bramblestar. Who would you’re choice for leader be if Squirrelstar doesn’t happen?
@@SunneyRabbit True!! I just like them I guess because I feel like they actually get along? But it does still feel too soon I like their friendship. Yes FrostSplash is awful but I love having like a bad guy who isn’t obviously like super evil right away (like Tigerstar or Darktail). I love Squirrelflight, I just feel like the writers wouldn’t make her leader? I don’t know why I just feel like they wouldn’t, somethings gonna happen on the way to the moonpool. If they both can’t be leader I think Cinderheart is a good option, she is level headed! Thanks for responding I love talking about these books 😊
I don't even think Splashtail loves Frostpaw romantically. It seems like he's just manuplating her and telling her he likes her too to make her trust him. In the meeting with Berryheart and friends he mentions finding a "new medicine cat" to manuplate. And I'm 90% sure he's talking about Frostpaw, because who else would be talking about? Also, Splashtail is literally just a green eyed Hawkfrost lol.
One thing I found interesting how Sparkpelt jumped immediately on Nightheart with "Maybe you'll find a special cat in ThunderClan now" after accepting him, which gave her strong Berryheart vibes. I suspect problems with Sparkpelt might not be quite over. Considering her role in A Vision of Shadows in being critical of SkyClan and Twigbranch, she'll probably not be very approving of her son dragging in an outsider to the Clan and maybe Sunbeam's role in Thunder will be about her proving herself to Nightheart's mother and Sparkpelt finally learning through Sunbeam that her xenophobia is wrong. And in learning that, maybe Sunbeam will figure out how to reach out to her mother.
Just finished your video and wanted to give some more thoughts 😊 I think Sparkpelt was so willing to accept Nightheart because her parents have been fighting all the time and she just wants her kin back. And an extra perspective (like how Stormfur and Flametail were) would be so nice for Skyclan or Windclan or even Shadowclan bc Sunbeam left. But I do not think Sunbeam is there to stay, she’ll either leave the end of Thunder or beginning of Wind, or she lead some Shadowclan cats to Thunderclan and is using her anger to fuel Shadowclan attack on Thunderclan? Super doubtful but that would be interesting.
god, right. i understand why people wonder if he might get deposed by the end of the arc but i really hope he stays leader because he's hilarious to read and so good at creating tension
@@amberbydreamsart5467 I doubt Tigerheartstar will be voted out, mostly because he's basically the equivalent of Firestar in level of importance and impact in Shadowclan (Since he brought it back after it was dissolved and was literally chosen and resurrected by Starclan). Even Berryheart says time and time again she doesnt want him out
Thought to your thought on the Bramblestar not going out strong. What if Tree's lack of involvement leaves room for Bramblestar to also take on a Mediator position in the clans? He keeps talking about wanting peace and seeing him overcome his current crippling anxiety to be a respectable Mediator would be a good way to pay respect to the character he was in Arc 2? It sounds better than him just going off to the elders den like you said altho they keep harping on the Dark Forest "changing" cats so idk
For me personally I agree with Tigerheartstar with taking over Riverclan. Maybe not completely because he’s definitely pushing it but Riverclan is a mess right now and since they have no official connection to star clan I think Tigerstar should at least send a medicine cat to live there for awhile. As for Sunheart (I’m not sure if that’s their ship name) I actually really like them their so cute together in my opinion. I do think that it was definitely forced and I hope Sunbeam has her own little thing and she’s not just there to be nightheart’s mate but for the most part I think their relationship is cute. As Splashtail OHMYGOD HE BROKE MY HEARTTT. I think it’s safe to say he’s involved with whatever sketchy stuff is going on in Riverclan rn but oh my god I loved his character sm in river and sky I thought he was so sweet and I was one of the rare people who thought he could be leader but now, yk, I hate him and it’s killing me I wanna cry As for frostpaw I hope she stays training to be a warrior instead of a medicine cat because she seems so much happier now. I think I speak for everyone when I say just because you have a connection with starclan doesn’t mean you have to be a medicine cat so I hope they don’t force her back into the position because she “has to for the good of the clan” and if they do then I have a suspicion that somethings gonna happen to mothwing For squilf I definitely want her to be squirrelstar im so here for that and I say long lived the Bramblestar lmao I am sad that Nightheart left Riverclan because I feel like he fit in better there and it seemed like a genuinely more peaceful environment for him, Berryheart aside and all And last but not least I’m loving Bramblestar’s character right now. I’ve never been the biggest Bramblestar lover not since arc 2 but seeing him as this depressed old man with ptsd that just wants to retire is interesting and I’m so here for it. Also the little relationship he had with Nightheart is so cute. But that’s my little hot take enjoy your day/night and thanks for reading ❤
Imagine Lionblaze becoming a deputy, then dying in a big "emotional" scene in the 6th book and then... Nightheart beeing named as his successor. I hate this and I hate that it's a likely option.
I found it interesting that Sunbeam questioned herself several times if she really likes Nightheart, up until the point where he chose to leave and she became obsessive. It really feels like not a genuine love but rather Sunbeam wanted to be loved by someone. I hope they point that out
As a Bramblestar fan, this is the most I've liked him since Bramblestar's Storm. This feels like a return to the character I loved instead of what they turned him into.
I think it would be kind of odd to have Lionblaze go to the elders' den when his adoptive mother is (while older, a still seemingly capable) deputy and the generation older than him are still holding out as senior warriors. He seriously needs to chill out though. (This isn't to say that they wouldn't do it, age cohorts making sense in warriors hasn't been much of a thing arguably since the beginning)
Yeah. There’s still a handful of cats that need to be elders before Lionblaze gets his chance. Mousewhisker, Birchfall, Daisy, Poppyfrost and Whitewing have been around since The New Prophecy or earlier and aren’t elders yet. Lionblaze seems crankier than usual so maybe he just needs a nap.
I believe that there is a double meaning with this arc's title. I think each clan won't have a leader, or "-star". Bramblestar is going to go to the moonpool, and starclan won't talk to him, but he'll retire anyway, and thunderclan won't have a starclan approved leader. I also think Tigerstar may be demoted at some point since most of his clan disagrees with him, and shadowclan won't have a leader (maybe he'll insist that he's still leader, and the clan can't really do anything like kill him since he's not really evil). idk about wind and sky clans, though..
I feel that the prologue being from Berryheart's pov was meant to get us at least partially on her side, but it just feels weird since no one seemed go remember darktail in the last arc. It's still weird that Sun, Night amd Frost haven't all met
I kinda like how friendly Sunbeam and Nightheart were though, when they lived together. It felt less crush-y and over-the-top and more like the couple feeling better about having a true friend. I enjoyed their banter. BristleRoot felt super forced and like they were only allowed to be head-over-heels for each other.
Nightheart is the most inconsistent character I have ever read. In river he is all I hate my family becuase they dont understand my name. In sky its I hate my family becuase they dont respect me, so I'm going to shadowclan where they will 100% love me and respect me as one of their own. Then in Shadow Berryheart spits in his face and plans to kick him out but he is all, wow shadowclan sure is the place where I feel confident. He then proceeds to do a 180 and return to the family he hates.
Tho it’s not “in character” for Bramble, I do like and feel him accurate He’s an old, confused man that’s having a hard time, he needs r E s t, he has served his clan well and it’s time for SquirrelFlight to show herself, her clan and the others that she’s capable of leadership Also, she has a lot on her favor, I think people forget she is FireStar’s daughter (not like it’s her only and important trait, that’s for sure) but seeing that inheritance and linage it’s kind of relevant in this books (which is somehow weird) maybe people trust her more (also expect more of her). I’m not a fan of BrambleStar, he’s bad written from time to time making questionable decisions, but it’s okey and I don’t hate him, he does deserve retirement 💀
This book gave me whiplash so much, idk how I feel about it lol. I laughed, I cried, I rolled my eyes and said "Oh my god not this again". They better not tease us Squirrelstar and then ripping it out from under us, I swear. Sunbeam and Nightheart pretending to be mates would've been such a comedic thing, especially since Berryheart seemingly not believing Nightheart loves her. Having her just flip a switch between "I don't know if I like you" to "he's literally the one" felt so forced. And Nightheart being like "I hate my former clan" in one chapter and the next he goes back and says "all is forgiven" felt so weird. Like, what did you learn? You literally didn't change other than loving a cat from a different clan. I did really like Sparkpelt finally being able to tell Nightheart why she was so harsh on him, though I don't think it should've happened when he rejoined Thunderclan. Now they're like together, I feel very bored with their POVs, we're only 3 books in and I don't know what more could happen other than Berryheart being a Karen. Bramblestar being so....traumatized felt so real to me. I felt so bad, cried a little too, that he is going through this. And him looking for answers from Starclan? That hit so close to home and I truly hope the next books let him retire. I do not like Bramblestar at all, but it was really sad seeing how he changed after the last arc. Frostpaw is honestly my favorite, I really enjoy her POV soo much and trying to figure out what happened. They're doing a really good job giving us a lot of red flag characters, like who is it? Is it the whole clan? And why? I cannot WAIT to see how she goes through life. I'd really love to see Frostpaw become a warrior with a connection to Starclan, like Firestar had a strong connection to Starclan. We get all these medicine cats with connections, but what about the oddball warrior?
I personally got pretty peeved when they killed Frostpaw and I am genuinely hoping that since she got attacked in front of Windclan's camp doorsteps they will heal her and question her : /
I don’t like how rushed Sunbeam’s and Nightheart’s relationship feels. I thought they would go a “pretending to be mates” route so that they could escape their problems together but no. Sunbeam is just infatuated with Nightheart now even though it doesn’t feel like it. They were cute friends. Idk why Warriors is so against guys and girls just being friends. It also didn’t make sense to me why Sunbeam left Shadowclan to join Thunderclan. She was PISSED when Nightheart left and she even thought for a moment that her mother was right. After suffering this second heartbreak, she could’ve sided with her mother, finally understanding why outsiders shouldn’t be allowed in. If all it does is cause her grief than it shouldn’t happen at all. It would’ve been an interesting take, especially for Warriors. They have some pretty good gray/dark gray morality antagonists going on right now and Sunbeam becoming a gray protag would’ve been great. But no. She’s a love interest now... I also not a fan of how wishy-washy Nightheart’s character is. In book one, he was a brat. Book two, he was a blank slate. Book three, he’s suddenly mature and understands the errors of his ways. Like… it would’ve been nice to actually see him reflect on his past actions. I had the thought that the arrogance and bratty-ness he showed in book one would come back during the trials and Sunbeam would call him out in this, but no. He’s just suddenly mature and competent now. I did like his reconciliation with Sparkpelt and Finchlight. That was cute. It didn’t feel earned but it was nice to see anyway.
Just wondering if u had a link to the Thunder exert. I can’t find it. I checked the warrior cats website and the wiki. U mentioned it at the start of the video and I’d like to quickly read it, if possible before I continue washing the video (spoilers and all)
I'm pretty sure Squirrelstar is going to be a thing but that she'll be the first leader deposed, because honestly, when has she ever showed good leader skills/qualities apart from being able to organize patrols and such? She's reckless, hotheaded, self-centered, and stubborn. Yet they're making her the main option. I think she'll try to lead Thunderclan to war right after being named leader and they'll refuse.
so the whole book i had 3 major feelings twoards the main charatcers [Spoilers] frostpaw I was like - "PLEASE stop trusting Splashtail" nightheart was like - "Why did you do that? and why is thunderclan being nice to you????" sunbeam - "You need to get ur mother to stfu" also, they pulled the shadowsight on frostpaw, i'm 99% sure it was splashtail but it could also have been Duskfur or any of the cats in their little group, also she's prob not gonna die since she's so close to the wc medicine den that they'll be able to smell her blood and do something about it, she'll prob enter ghost mode like shadowsight, maybe talk to tree or even shadow when she gets back
Bramble fan here! I think that the ASC arc is redeeming his character after the last few arcs kinda did him dirty. Hopefully this means that once he is Brambleclaw again, then he won’t be a victim of character assassination nearly as much as he used to.
Bramblestar should have been the first to be deposed under the new rule IMO. If only they didn't have that stupid clause in the new code about needing the other Clans' leaders permission, as if it's any of their business. His Clanmates could have noticed he's not really up to leadership anymore. And it's realistic for a lot of them to be genuinely scared by Tigerstar's actions. If Bramblestar and Squirrelflight played politics a bit they could have found another cat willing to start the vote to depose him and then convinced others. That way we wouldn't have to wonder if StarClan is going to accept this because they would have technically been following the rules, if not in the way the rules were originally intended. Tigerstar seems like too much of an author's darling to be the one. They set him up as some kind of chosen saviour to all the Clans in his super edition. And no matter what he's doing they try to remind the readers that he has good intentions. Even when he's trying to drive out the Clan that recently gave his family refuge at their lowest point. He's a heroic saviour figure in the eyes of his Clan too. If this were a society where voting leaders out of office was an established practice he might already be out after staying in RiverClan past the deadline. But this is a society where you can question or criticize leaders but they're still expected to rule until death by default. Sure, ShadowClan is the only Clan where the majority has turned on TWO very different leaders and both within living memory. But they've still put up with a LOT from their leaders. Tigerstar may lose the war but he doesn't treat his Clanmates as disposable mooks like Brokenstar. He isn't building a throne of bones like the first Tigerstar. He hasn't dissolved their religion like Blackstar temporarily did. He carries the air of authority his Clanmates saw lacking in Rowanstar. And he's made them a decisive force around the lake and feared by the other Clans, another thing they wanted. I don't want Icewing to be RiverClan's next leader because I like Icewing. She's implied she wants to retire soon. And she would have to work three times as hard as other leaders in order to not be treated like Rowanstar. The only RiverClan cats likely to be happy to see her become Icestar are her daughters, the other cat who's gotten a reputation as a Tigerstar toady and three apprentices who don't have the angry mob skills of Needlepaw's ShadowClan generation.
I guess the bias of this fandom blinds them to the fact that Squirrelflight being leader is just a dumb idea. If we are so sick of Firestar and the nepotism literally why is she taking on this role?? I havent read this series but Splashheart being evil is so obvious like... how thirsty is Frostpaw?
Squirrelflight has shown time and time again to be a HORRIBLE diplomat. It's like no one remembers things like her screaming in the face of a dying Blackstar - in his own camp! - while Bramblestar begs her not to because she's making the situation worse. In TBC, she caused so much pain and suffering because her feelings were apparently more important than the good of the Clans. Her refusal to give up on what she wants even, in the end, caused Bramblestar suffering - he is exhausted and so deeply hurt. She is often right, yes - but the way she goes about getting what she wants is often unnecessarily risky and foolish. She's likely going to be a bad leader and people will be yelling about it being ooc but it's been foreshadowed for a long time. Honestly, she didn't even WANT to be leader. I think she deserves to retire and spend time with her family without stress, not be forced into an unnaturally long life trying to wrangle cats who have been constantly disrespectful to her for years now.
@@Moony1568 well not really. the brackenfur and thornclaw lines are very much alive and well. also while there are many cats related to firestar rn, not all will be considered nepotism. if dewnose or ivypool were to suddenly become leader, there would be much less of an outrage as they arent as close in the lineage or plot wise to Firestar- meanwhile Lionblaze was one of the three (his legit oldest grandson) and Squirrelflight is his daughter and looks very much like him. imo there is a clear difference.
@@minecraftstar_ At family dinner: 'Sooo, Splashtail, how's everything going with Frostpaw?' 'Uhmmmm.... A..amazing.. we're.. ahem .. def in love.. no one has died yet sooo..' 'Well, I did have a vision recently of someone being murdered!!' '...'
Frostpaw's relationship with Splashtail genuinely makes me sick! Actually! This is the Erin's perfect opportunity to potentially redeem their past... Inappropriate age gap relationships but frankly I'm afraid they're not gonna do that. They're just going to go "don't date bad people because they're bad!! not because they're twice your age 😊"
Sunbeam going to thunderclan annoyed me so much lie girl why are making your life revolve around him before he tried to join shadowclan they barely had any conversation Im not suprised but since they annouced the protags of this arc I was thinking please no romantic relationship between the too but nope. Im excited for squirrelstar but I'm afraid something horrible is going to happen before she is able to get her 9 lives
I hate when female characters are reduced to their male love interest as much as the next guy but I will say I like how cringefail sunbeam is. We finally have a proper cringefail loser woman and I’m a huge fan of that.
I'll admit, I don't like NightSun but seeing Nightheart be a bit cringefail about his interest in her actually endeared me to him a lot. I do like him when he's being kind of a dumb teen, even if some of the "romantic" thoughts he had about Sunbeam were a bit hard to read, lol. I totally agree with the reading a lot of ppl have about Sunbeam going to Thunderclan - that it's less her being genuinely in love and more just a desire to be loved - but I still feel kind of iffy on the decision. I think it's an interesting idea, but it kind of moves both her and Nightheart further away from the action going on in Riverclan - which imo is the most interesting part of this series. I'm kind of of the opinion that Frostpaw should've been the solo protag of this series, with Nightheart and Sunbeam's story maybe being saved for a separate series that they could have more involvement in. But who knows what might happen next! There's still time for them to get more involved with Frostpaw's story, esp since Berryheart's probably pissed about Sunbeam leaving
They even use the sentence “Cloverfoot’s attempts to mediate were only marking things worse.” It’s the only time the word mediate is used in the whole book. Where is Tree?!
i forgot he existed
Agreed. Poor Bramble, they ruined him so much(
*looks at bramblepaw* look at how they massacred our boy :(
100% agree. So glad to find my fellow remaining fans out there. Everything they've done with him lately was horrible until this arc
@@Spottedstorm27 yep, glad they'e finally letting him go. Time to go read aus where he doesn't become a shitbag I guess.
@@Spottedstorm27ikr honestly im hesitant in reading these new books after what ive heard about how my man is written
Unless it's StarClan itself killing cats? Finally using the evil StarClan plot they've been cooking for so long?
Somewhat off topic but I’m writing an evil starclan where SkyStar is essentially in charge with his girlboss wife Star flower doing all the strategic manipulating while he just yells at people
@@viridiankat8527 Oooo
I’m praying with all my heart we get Ivypool as deputy, we haven’t seen her hardly at all this arc so I’d love to see her have more relevancy in the latter half of the arc
I also actually enjoy how Tigerstar is behaving, I love seeing a stubborn, hard headed leader that’s willing to go against Starclan that ISNT evil or mentally broken
I also feel like he’s a modern example of the Firestar trope of getting his nose in everyone’s business trying to help, but going about it aggressively rather than passively
definitely nightheart somehow will be the deputy when squirrelflight becomes leader, that's a pretty obvious plot
@@jje5713 It's not obvious at all. He hasn't had an apprentice and just got back from trying to join another clan. There's no way Squirrelflight would choose him.
@@siobhannoble8545 I can't see any reason other than that to explore their relationship as much as they did in the previous 3 books
My guess is that she would choose lionblaze first (again), and then he would die in some battle. after that she would choose nightheart
About the apprendice rule, there's plenty of time to that, we still have 3 books to go
I disagree a bit about Sunbeam-
I liked the arc with her mother as someone who loves dearly but butts heads with their mother.
@@CrowsNestRat_7714 totally
I feel like Nightheart and Sunbeam did a real 180 this book. In Sky, Nightheart is impulsive and emotional while Sunbeam is more calm and measured, but in this book we have Nightheart talking it out with his family and Sunbeam running to ThunderClan without warning (EXACTLY WHAT NIGHTHEART DID AT THE END OF SKY)
Nightheart has officially pulled a Twigpaw.
SQUIRRELSTAR SQUIRRELSTAR YESS
I'm so excited
Squirrelflight has been deputy for the last 12 freakin books, what's gonna change if she becomes leader?
I'm honestly tired of her and bramblestar. Looking for something new in thunderclan
I was so sure that Bristlefrost would be the next big thing but she died
I. HATE. SQUIRRELFLIGHT. (although we do need squirrelstar because i hate bramblestar)
@@nyxpng i think she is boring, honestly
Maybe Tree has finally fulfilled his destiny of becoming a bush, which is why no one can find him and get him to do his one job.
then tree turned himself into a bush, funniest thing i’ve ever seen.
My thought has always been frostpaw or Nightheart as riverclans new leader
I love Nightheart and all but I don't think he'll be Riverclan's new leader. That's just stupid imo. Same with Frostpaw being the new leader. She's so young and still an apprentice book 3. The difference between her and Firestar is that he became a warrior book 1 and had the whole rest of the arc to grow and train an apprentice. But Frostpaw just doesn't have that time, and I just wouldn't want her to be leader. At least this arc. Maybe she could be deputy at some point.
Lionblaze can be deputy as long as he's dying this arc
I really think Frostpaw and her said savior will meet Warriorclan, because if we remember Warriorclan resides where Riverclan's old camp used to be!
i completely forgot about warriorclan what!!!!! they need to include warriorclan in another book the concept is so cool and it’s just used for a few chapters in graystripe’s vow and never again
He’s a good character (very sneaky, probably evil) but Frostpaw is too good for him and she can do better 💅
Definitely wouldn’t be that surprised if Squirrelflight decides to retire with Bramblestar.
Let us remove all leaders but Harestar and have 5 Harestars instead
harelight not becoming leader is obvs a mistake and must be fixed
@@minecraftstar_ yes we need more leaders with the same name darn it x.x
My favorite part of the book was tigerstars stand up comedy to break the ice of taking over riverclan
Ikr. Like, Tigerstar; read the room buddy.
god, right. i understand why people wonder if he might get deposed by the end of the arc but i really hope he stays leader because he's hilarious to read and so good at creating tension
Tigerstar’s Open Mic Night
I’d love to see Bramblestar stick around as a prominent character still. Giving him a mediator role would be a great way to have him still do stuff.
I think it’s safe to say he’s involved with whatever sketchy stuff is going on in Riverclan rn but oh my god I loved his character sm in river and sky I thought he was so sweet and I was one of the rare people who thought he could be leader but now, yk, I hate him and it’s killing me I wanna cry
As for frostpaw I hope she stays training to be a warrior instead of a medicine cat because she seems so much happier now. I think I speak for everyone when I say just because you have a connection with starclan doesn’t mean you have to be a medicine cat so I hope they don’t force her back into the position because she “has to for the good of the clan” and if they do then I have a suspicion that somethings gonna happen to mothwing
For squilf I definitely want her to be squirrelstar im so here for that and I say long lived the Bramblestar lmao
I am sad that Nightheart left Riverclan because I feel like he fit in better there and it seemed like a genuinely more peaceful environment for him, Berryheart aside and all
And last but not least I’m loving Bramblestar’s character right now.
If they kill off squirrel flight like they did with curlfeather I will start screaming
squirrelflight and the fandom has been waiting SO LONG FOR THIS!!!!! please i beg of you erins do not kill her off!!!!!!
Imagine Lionblaze becoming a deputy, then dying in a big "emotional" scene in the 6th book and then... Nightheart beeing named as his successor.
I hate this and I hate that it's a likely option.
FINALLY I CAN TALK ABOUT IT I GOT IT EARLY ON THE 22 AND IVE BEEN DYING IM SO HAPPY SQUIRRELSTAR IS HAPPENING
SAME I WAS CHANTING SQUIRRELSTAR
I found it interesting that Sunbeam questioned herself several times if she really likes Nightheart, up until the point where he chose to leave and she became obsessive. It really feels like not a genuine love but rather Sunbeam wanted to be loved by someone. I hope they point that out
As a Bramblestar fan, this is the most I've liked him since Bramblestar's Storm. This feels like a return to the character I loved instead of what they turned him into.
Spoilery ig
I'm genuinely so excited for Squirrelstar
I've wanted it for so long and I'm so excited
@@SunneyRabbit maybe his inner Jayfeather (or Crowfeather) brushed off on him

and also lionblaze can't became an elder, he's 7 years old lol 💀 most of deputies became leaders at this age
@@SunneyRabbit THORNCLAW
Squirrelstar. Squirrelstar. SQUIRRELSTAR
Tho it’s not “in character” for Bramble, I do like and feel him accurate
He’s an old, confused man that’s having a hard time, he needs r E s t, he has served his clan well and it’s time for SquirrelFlight to show herself, her clan and the others that she’s capable of leadership
Also, she has a lot on her favor, I think people forget she is FireStar’s daughter (not like it’s her only and important trait, that’s for sure) but seeing that inheritance and linage it’s kind of relevant in this books (which is somehow weird) maybe people trust her more (also expect more of her).
I’m not a fan of BrambleStar, he’s bad written from time to time making questionable decisions, but it’s okey and I don’t hate him, he does deserve retirement 💀
Nice!
I personally got pretty peeved when they killed Frostpaw and I am genuinely hoping that since she got attacked in front of Windclan's camp doorsteps they will heal her and question her : /
Don’t worry, she survives
The best is when tigerstar keeps trying to make jokes
My favorite part of the book was when Nightheart to Berryheart was like, "You told me to CATCH the frogs, not hunt them." 💀
I don’t like how rushed Sunbeam’s and Nightheart’s relationship feels.
U mentioned it at the start of the video and I’d like to quickly read it, if possible before I continue washing the video (spoilers and all)
Thunder doesn’t have an excerpt yet, it’ll probably come out closer to release (November 7th)
I think she'll try to lead Thunderclan to war right after being named leader and they'll refuse.
so the whole book i had 3 major feelings twoards the main charatcers
[Spoilers]
frostpaw I was like - "PLEASE stop trusting Splashtail"
nightheart was like - "Why did you do that? and why is thunderclan being nice to you????"
sunbeam - "You need to get ur mother to stfu"
also, they pulled the shadowsight on frostpaw, i'm 99% sure it was splashtail but it could also have been Duskfur or any of the cats in their little group, also she's prob not gonna die since she's so close to the wc medicine den that they'll be able to smell her blood and do something about it, she'll prob enter ghost mode like shadowsight, maybe talk to tree or even shadow when she gets back
Her deputy better be a she-cat.
Bramble fan here! I think that the ASC arc is redeeming his character after the last few arcs kinda did him dirty. Hopefully this means that once he is Brambleclaw again, then he won’t be a victim of character assassination nearly as much as he used to.
i hope twigbranch becomes deputy and later leader tbh
Twigstar! :] She can be free of her name (alternatively, she keeps her name to make the fanbase mad, valid of her)
Bramblestar should have been the first to be deposed under the new rule IMO.
Basically everyone in Thunderclan is related to Firestar. There will always be nepotism, no matter what.
Splashtail killed reed for sure
imagine your crush admits she saw a vision of you killing the deputy. how awkward would THAT be
@@minecraftstar_ At family dinner:
'Sooo, Splashtail, how's everything going with Frostpaw?'
'Uhmmmm.... A..amazing.. we're.. ahem .. def in love.. no one has died yet sooo..'
'Well, I did have a vision recently of someone being murdered!!'
'...'
Sunbeam going to thunderclan annoyed me so much lie girl why are making your life revolve around him before he tried to join shadowclan they barely had any conversation
Im not suprised but since they annouced the protags of this arc I was thinking please no romantic relationship between the too but nope.
There's still time for them to get more involved with Frostpaw's story, esp since Berryheart's probably pissed about Sunbeam leaving
nothing wrong with girls confessing their feelings its called being human and having emotions
I'm gonna have to make my way to youtube headquarters to nudge a 55.56x45mm cartridge into whoever's recommending me these kinds of videos.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ you comment, you get more of it. There’s a button to not have it reccomended! And it takes absolutely nothing to not leave a rude comment
All I want to see Frostpaw get her name and Squirrelstar choosing anyone but stupid Lionblaze as deputy
Rootspring never going have kits
