I'm from Columbus, GA but my mom moved us to Gwinnett for a better life. I have many "family members" who are jealous of me because of it. They see what I worked hard for as an Army veteran and hate on it instead of doing better for themselves. This story is the exact reason why I stay far away from Columbus and from my jealous "family" because of how dangerous it is to be around misery. When people aren't happy with their lives they'll do anything to destroy yours. Like Claressa Shields said, "My family doesn't want what I give them, they want what I have."
I have family that believe money is owed to them instead of working for it. They believe when they don’t pay the rent their landlords are greedy when they get evicted. Blows my mind. I keep my distance from them because they’ll never believe different.

@@overcominglifestrials5316This story is so heartbreaking and difficult to understand. Three lives gone over what? Jealousy and resentment, from a family member? The way he described finding each of the victims and then going around and checking on them again. It's like he was trying to escape a nightmare and hoping he'd find they were alive, sitting on the couch waiting for him to join them. Beyond tragic.
@awKtn32-_- that was my first thought how terrified she must have been. Not that Caleb and Gloria weren't but she was just 10😢 and the pain they all suffered is horrific. My heart breaks for her husband.
The “Yes Sirs” from Javarceay were really triggering for me knowing full well he does not mean them but just thinking he’s going to outsmart the detectives
There was more to his inner being than that and it had been bred in him for some time for him to be the kind of person he had become to be so young. So very sad!
I’m from Columbus and I remember this like yesterday. There is a little more to this story. They weren’t blood cousins, which makes it worse. The family treated him as such. They showed him that much love. The “grandfather “ that passed a few days later was Gloria’s brother. He was dating Jervarceay grandmother. They lived with him. He passed away from a heart attack. These kids were at school the next day with a pair of the stolen shoes on. The fact they went allll the way across town sharing a moped was ridiculous. That’s bout a 30 min drive itself! Some still believe the “look out” really was telling the truth about not doing anything /going in since he was going to be murdered next. There was one more involved, but changed his mind last minute and I know he’s glad he did. This is so sad!😞 and something I’ll never forget.

It's envy not jealousy. The definition of jealousy is having something and you're worried someone will take it away from you. Envy is wanting something someone else has.

As a former police officer, watching this video brings tears to my eyes how brutally this man's family was murdered. You can tell looking at the home and acreage the family was financially well off. This had to be a premeditated killing in which the killer knew something about the families wealth or a family member in the home. That is my police instinct after only watching just 2 minutes of the video. I immediately ruled the father out simply by listening to his testimony and his distraught behavior during the interrogation interview after the loss of his family. Detectives are well trained on identifying people when they are lying.
Why couldn’t they arrest the killer sooner ? Why did they have to wait when they already had the co-conspirators in custody just curious. It infuriated me seeing him get to leave after each interview 😢
i remember this like it was yesterday. mrs gloria, her son and granddaughter went to my church. her oldest son was our pastor. it’s still chilling knowing how gruesome they were killed. they were the sweetest people ever.

It boils down to individual choice.
The difference between the first kid and his demeanour, to the cousin and how ‘happy’ he seemed, are worlds apart. Considering it was his family that was brutally murdered you’d think he’d at least act shocked and sad. 😞
Javarceay Tapley is a pathological liar, kind of person that after you shake their hand you have to count your fingers to make sure some are not missing.
I was thinking the same. You can tell he’s been a liar for a very long time. I can’t imagine being that confident in front of an interrogator as a n adult, let alone at 17yro! He looked that detective in the eye and said “man to man, I don’t know what happened”. That’s some bold. The fact that he could kill with the kind of brutality is unspeakable.
The sleep of the guilty. Every guilty person I've ever seen in an interview room falls asleep in minutes when left alone. To mentally escape, I presume. He is so cocky, erasing his phone, denying everything, but that changed when he was arrested. He was found guilty of bruatally taking the life of 3 family members, including a 10 yo little girl with his hands. Evil.
Years ago when I would be placed in examination room at the doctor's office, I would fall asleep waiting for the doctor to come in because I was so bored. This was back before we had cell phones that we could look at. They would have magazines in the waiting room to keep you occupied but then move you to the exam room with nothing.....and then 1/2 hour later the doctor would walk in.
I read what you said about the guilty falling asleep while waiting to be questioned I guess. That bothers me because I suffer from insomnia. I would probably fall asleep the minute I was alone in that room because of my insomnia. So does that mean that all of the detectives would automatically assume I was guilty of something? That's kind of scary to think about.
@@angelagreathouse7274 so you would still fall asleep being accused of murdering 3 family member and you didn’t do it ? ? A normal person would be filled with so much anxiety it’s unimaginable that they could sleep

If Caleb is his cousin then he killed his own grandmother, and two cousins! What kind of mindset does that take? I can’t even fathom it. It’s beyond evil!
You’d have to be a sociopath. Have absolutely no compassion, or empathy, or love, whatsoever. It’s horrifying. Just the thought of it makes me shudder.
As inconsiderate as it sounds to ask, I think they do it to see the reaction they get... unfortunately most of the time when a family is murdered (including children) it's someone related to the victims. It's normally a crime of passion whenever people are brutally beaten, especially children. You have to have so much hate inside you to do it. Based on how many of these interrogations I've watched, the person who "found" their family dead is the one who committed the crime. But I'm no expert in this field, it's just my opinion! I remember when my friend passed away, his girlfriend was asked "how are you?" She responded with "I'm great!" Yeah that was the first red flag.
People keep saying it was over shoes. If it was over shoes he could’ve just broken in when they weren’t there. He killed them because of envy. All of these cases revolve around the 7 deadly sins.
Yea he was envious of the love Caleb's family had for him. I see he separated himself when he "Caleb's side of the family." Then Ms. Gloria bout him stuff and took him on trips with them too, smh. I still dont understand the stupidity and emotional weakness to go out to way to plan and do this. If I dont like somebody I stay away from them, simple fix.
21 years as an army medic, and became a doctor afterwards. He did everything right. He didn’t deserve this. His family didn’t deserve this. Edit: ffs, it doesn’t matter if he became a doctor or a nurse, why are you people obsessed about THAT rather than that he spent over 20 years helping people and didn’t deserve to have his family slaughtered?
@ Why are you like this? Doctor or nurse, he spent 21 years at minimum helping people, not including the time he spent in the medical field afterwards as a civilian.
All their deaths were awful, but that poor lil girl. How can their tiny souls even fathom that level of violence, let alone from a family member. Just sick... So so sick
@ It does matter. It was awful either way. The commentary emphasized that it was so much worse because they were family, and I was just pointing out that they were not related by blood. If your blood relative did this to you, that makes it that much worse. Because the idea that a blood relative could do this to their own family member is beyond belief. The fact that a close family friend who you thought of as a family member did it is horrible as well. But apparently, the perpetrator did not see them as family, even though they saw him as family. If he had seen them as family, he obviously would not have done what he did. The perpetrated did not love the family as much as they loved him.
He thought he could prove to the detective he was innocent by looking him in the eye expressing his innocence. He didn’t realize the detective already knew he was guilty and by looking the detective in the eye saying he’s innocent all he did was prove to the detective how cold blooded he is as and how capable he is of telling lies.
Man, these stories dont usually make me feel emotional, but that poor man finding his family like that.. and now he has to live on the rest of his life basically alone.. I couldn't handle the pain he's experienced.
Javarceay is definitely the most horrifying guy I ever witnessed. How is it that he has no problem killing his own family and then lie to the cops at the fullest extent? What exactly is he trying to accomplish from lying? More of all, how was he able to sleep at night knowing he murdered 3 family members and talked to the cops like everything is normal to him? There was no guilt, and when he said only a “cold hearted murder would do that”, he practically described himself. The things people would lie to themselves.
EXACTLYYY like that is PURE EVIL and it make it worse for me cuz I was just watching this movie called “juice” the night before I saw this and 2pac in the movie killed his friend and later went to the victim’s mother and sister and hugged them and all that and yet he was the one who killed him like it’s just crazy I watched that then woke up today to see this like a murderer will lie to your face and even attend a funeral if not caught
@ I wouldnt be able to sleep at night if I had killed my own family or someone I care about. Some cops when they kill someone would also go to therapy from what I was told so they can be recovered mentally from killing. This kid? Nothing. Just walked it off somehow, and doubt he went to therapy either. Just act like nothing happened. Disgusting.
He’s a psychopath. Through and through. Nothing matters in his world except him. He even said the person who did that should get death penalty while he was talking about himself lol the miles he went to dissociate himsef out of it
Raheem was the one that set he couldnt be a cold hearted killer. He has a kid himself. Why would he get himself involved with this, he đint even hang with them that often

It’s so hard to even think of how people can become this evil. The only thing I can think of is possible abuse or neglect from a very young age. It can cause people to become numb. How about parents stop raising angry, unaddressed mental illness, violent entitled narcissists. Back in my day we didn't have nearly as heavy of violence and crime and yet we had a larger population....back in those days parents didn't coddle their kids for life, parents disciplined kids (a little fear is healthy). Parents did not accept so much excuses or believe if their kid complained about someone or a teacher that it was automatically the other party's fault. Parents taught us to self reflect and realize what responsibilities we had and how to get things done.
Big facts ❤
Dang, we’re here at Fort Moore. Didn’t think it was like that out here.
I have family that believe money is owed to them instead of working for it. They believe when they don’t pay the rent their landlords are greedy when they get evicted. Blows my mind. I keep my distance from them because they’ll never believe different.

Exactly

The sleep of the guilty. Every guilty person I've ever seen in an interview room falls asleep in minutes when left alone. To mentally escape, I presume. I read what you said about the guilty falling asleep while waiting to be questioned I guess. That bothers me because I suffer from insomnia. This was pure evil! Jealousy & envy are horrible traits to have. All the love shown to this young man & this is how he repaid them. Just disgusting!😡🤬😔😊
Beyond disgusting. The personification of evil.
It's not a trait It's demonic spirits.
It's not about envy or hatred, it's all about the glorification of material goods that is prominent part of the inner city culture.
@@barneystone1715AND JEALOUSY WITH BM!
An interrogation office is not the principal’s office. You’re not going to talk your way out of trouble.
🔨
This was so sad to watch. I lived right near this area a while back. I’m so sorry to the grandfather for losing your family. None of you deserved this, sir.
This happened in my town just horrible 😞. They took that kid in and tried to show him a better side of life and this is how he repayed them 😢
That is truly heartbreaking
💔💔💔😡😥🙏🏾
The leader was a monster. He had absolutely no remorse.
None..😔
He thought he was going to skip by ....
Psychopaths don't do remorse
@@Lucinda_Jackson…and don’t have empathy
Yup. He's a Psychopath.
That boy Jervaceay - how creepy to sit there like he did nothing. Smiling, acting like he is all innocent and cooperative. These detectives are smarter than him on their worst day, then he is on his best day.
Killed HIS OWN COUSIN over shoes that the grandma would have probably bought him HAD he asked since he was spending summers there, vacationing with them, and she was already buying him clothing. Smh
It wasn’t about the shoes. It was the envy in his heart. I can imagine it reached a level of obsession. Almost as if he saw Caleb living a life that was supposed to be his life! He wanted thy family that home the opportunities Caleb had. Even beyond the material things. He did not want Caleb to have what he didn’t not have. Evil!
So are they sure they got the right people?
They weren't even blood cousins, they just referred to each other that way. Jervarseay's grandmother who he lived with was dating Caleb's uncle, Gloria's brother.
Cold blooded narcissist. I hope they handle him in prison.
oh you better believe it...johnny and his crew hate child killers and w/ that attitude...thx.
I don't think u know what a narcissist is. It's different than an a hole or a liar. Clinical narcissist is different
Whew this boy don’t even know what he just got himself into. He sounds like a small child telling the story. 9th grade education, a baby and now going to prison. That poor daddy finding his family is awful.
Baby?
This is almost too horrific to be believed! What kind of EVIL are these demon boys???
There are no words to describe the kind of evil these demon boys are.
They are pos demons
I lived right behind this house when it happened but I never thought the reason for these murders until now. This is still a safe and peaceful neighborhood but the house hasn't been able to be rented or owned, it's still empty to this day. It is so sad.
Going to be hard to rent or sold after everything that happened there..is like the watts home..they sold it and after less than a year, they moved out.Too much bad energy and sadness
@@auraterry3548true. I would be terrified just passing by thay house nevermind living in it.
@@auraterry3548 I wonder if a mass murder would be required to include on a seller’s disclosure? Are there any real estate agents in the comments here that would kindly shed some light on this? Very curious although I could and probably just should Google it.
@@glow1815not if passing was natural
Bad ora over that house 🏠 unless free I wouldn't pass
That little smirk on Jervarceay face when he thinks he outsmarted the police while gaining boldness with his narrative.
Always protect your children from other children! Its a wicked world!
Yet humans will continue to procreate victims and perpetrators in this random loosh farm.
These days you have parents talking to a 25 year old kids manager because kid complained to parents that they think they were treated unfairly, like no cell phones on the job, you're somewhere to work.
That javarceay guy is beyond evil..looking that detective dead in the eye and denied what he did without a care in the world. Pure evil
I know, right? I would be curious to go inside his mind to see what made him like this. It's about more than being jealous. This is pure evil!!!
@@faithwilliams7826I just have the same thought ...🤔 This sort of depravity didn't happen overnight, it must have been ' nurtured'right from his childhood. Beyond evil
This is a nightmare I wish I had never stumbled upon. How horrible for them. This family seemed so happy and healthy. They are at peace, now.
He thinks he’s smooth AF in his interviews.
He definitely believes his own lies
I feel so sorry and bad for the father/grandfather. I will be 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 praying for this family. It's sad that he is the one that had to find them
This happened 2016

What an odd comment.
Pray for Mr. Short, yall! Imagine finding your family this way!
Jervarceay needs life with no parol or the death penalty.. Just an evil cold hearted person just to be able to talk after the crime without a care in the world. Amd did all that for some shoes and video games. Just imagine what he would d9 in the future for some real money or expensive items
He had me convinced he was innocent.
