How’s the sharky holding up? My sharky 3 bait feeder sheared off half the reel handle lugs after 15 small fish. I ordered an Okuma Avenger bait feeder the other day to replace it. All those good reviews are from people who were given free reels and merchandise to Wright positive reviews. I posted a negative review with the broken reel lugs and Amazon wouldn't post it.
Just got the Avenger. It’s miles ahead of the Sharky bait runner mechanically. The only thing I don’t like is the bait runner clicker is almost silent. Think I’ll just use a normal reel and spin the drag down in front from now on. A normal spinning reel front drag is a lot louder than most bait runner drag clickers and I can just spin the front drag quickly to tighten the drag and fight the fish.
I love the stains and leftover strawberry packbait on your rod handle. I have the same exact stuff on mine. Love it. Gotta checkout the Okuma. Good review.
I will say this, one of the Kast Kings failed me, it does not engage all the time. I have several Okumas and they have never failed. The Kast Kings feel like they are better quality, but the Okuma has never failed me. If I had to buy another one, which I am, it is an Okuma all day. The Okuma does not have loud bait runners, but I have alarms.. I will go up one or 2 sizes on the Okuma next time.
Great videos boss. I’m a newbie to carp fishing but I’d like to step up my game a bit and start fishing with a method feeder. Do you throw one on the GX2? Seems like it would be too heavy, no?
The method feeder cage I use is 20g and I add pack bait to it, no problem at all. See my latest video about the method cages I use... I will try to put link in description
@@fishmore7957 I watch him alot, also Carp and Catfish with Luke, but I prefer Tom because his methods are simple and not costly and work... I don't like to complicate things. If there is any video you want me to make let me know!
Yeah they are not necessary. I will say they do keep me from getting stripped by gills. When I fish with corn on the hook and not field corn boiled I have to check my bait a lot more, but I do want people to experiment and find what works for them in their lakes and rivers, I do both

Yeah! Ha ha! My rods are for sure strawberry jello flavored. Perhaps I should clean them, but they would not stay clean very long with me putting on packbait. I sent you an email sir!
Nice. I have the same rods. Both are paired with 6000 Coonor reels. 30lb cajun mono. I've caught 30lb catfish, carp, and salmon.
Very nice!

Yes, with my alarms it fixes that issue.. but they are more quiet
How are your Kasking 6000 reels donig in 2024? Is the baitfeeder feature still working good?

Yeah I got it all over my rods.. LOL!
Great Informative Video
Glad it was helpful!
So after two years are you still using the Sharky Reels. I have one of them and it works out for heavy casting but the reel handle is really flexible.
Yes, but one has failed. I would rather use OKUMA
I run the same reels on 5 carp rods I love them
Yeah they seem to work great, I say for the price point that work excellent
Which one would you choose if you could only have one in the same size

@@BigMuddyFishing thanks! I just ordered that Kastking reel too. Now I need to learn how to tie those hair rigs.
@@fishmore7957 See channel Outdoors with Tom (might be outside with Tom)
@@BigMuddyFishing Ha, I watched his video already. Between you and him, I’m trying to learn everything.

I landed a massive 31 inch carp on a #2 hook with corn directly on the hook. Just like u said hair rigs not neccessary! I was using 25 lbs braid

Could you do a quick vid on how the carp cage feeder attaches to the line? couldnt see how they attach on the website. thanks
I think i see now, slip float style correct?
@@lonnietoot1915 Yeah they just slide in there, check my videos I have a video for it
How much line on the Okuma 4000 and lb test
I buy 300 Yards and put it on until it fills it up, I would guess maybe 240 yards, but not sure.. I will check with for you! I
@@BigMuddyFishing thanks I managed 200 yard of 30lb power pro braid
You look quite dapper in that shirt I must say. See you got a haircut also. Perhaps you should take more off the side and top
Why thank you sir! You should order one!
I use Penn and shimano baitrunners.
Those are very good brands. I need to try them, Diawa also, but how many more reels does one man need. MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@BigMuddyFishing it gets addictive. I've slowly upgraded over the years...
