i hope this isn’t a strange comment but i could literally listen to you talk forever- just something about the way you speak is so engaging even for me as a person who is not immediately interested in makeup lol
Same here, I sometimes feel she has not been posting enough and feels like weeks that she hasn't post but she usually posts every week one or two videos.
I second this! Smokey if you read this; listening to you helps me a lot when im feeling anxious, your energy is so positive! Been watching you for a while from Chile!
It’s interesting that you’re going through this almost “UA-cam identity crisis” after you just posted a video about youtubers adapting their content versus falling off. I think you have to go with what feels natural and be open to change! Best of luck ❤️
I’ve learned in the last few months that giving yourself “content rules” as a UA-camr leads to burn out. I felt exactly the same as you - that same “I said I was a makeup channel so now I have to keep making makeup videos” feeling and it lead to me burning out so hard I almost quit YT entirely. Why do we do this to ourselves? 😂 I hope you make the shift and just create the content that you feel passionate about. It’s so freeing!
reading and hearing the last part this video helped me so much.. i also feel that preassure about what everyone on youtube says "stay on your niche"... and is like... but i also love this other thing, and hearing you i am more secure about uploading that content that i put so much effort researching and i've had for a month, but i was afraid on posting that because it "doesn't fit in my niche" the thing is IT DOESNT FIT, and also I LOVE these topics... so why not?
You girls got plain, simple growin' pains and I'm here for it!! I will tell you, they never stop for some of us, so roll with them when they happen. The only thing that grows in stagnant waters is stink!!
I think after dramageddon, I completely fell off the “makeup community”. You’re the only makeup-related channel I watch anymore because I like your commentary. Since spring of 2021, I basically don’t even wear makeup anymore even though I used to do a full face every single day. I’m def here for the commentary and history videos, so if that’s where you’re heading, I’m really excited :)
This is what exactly happened to me! I used to do a full face and spend so much time on my eye makeup and nowadays I only put on clear eyebrow gel. I've definitely fallen wayyyyy off the makeup trend
I've lost a handful of "friends" recently due to finally setting boundaries and it's LONELY, but I know it's for the best. Watching your vids feels like hanging with a good friend. 💕
Me too! My friend breakup was in June, a week or so before my birthday. I was really struggling to begin with and she was confiding in me about her *really* toxic relationship, which was really triggering for me… so I asked for some space while I got a grip and she was super passive aggressive on SM and when she suddenly unfollowed/unfriended me, I confronted her (because the space was supposed to be temporary), and then she used things I was currently struggling with, that I confided in her with prior, against me. She was supposed to be my best friend. Sorry for oversharing, like you said it’s heckin lonely out here ❤️
@@thegirlwiththatface I had the opposite happen: my best friend and I confided in each other and shared some really vulnerable stuff, then he never talked to me again. No need to apologize for ranting. It feels good to express how you feel, especially in painful situations like this. I hope one day we can both find peace and really good friends 💕
I currently have a friend I'm trying to work on setting boundaries with. He tends to use me as a therapist and some things he brings up trigger me from past abuse. It's difficult because he keeps telling me he has a hard time reading boundaries but I hate having to explain it to him almost every time what is or isn't okay (and I really am not being cryptic about it). I feel like he only texts me when he's drunk or sad and it's hard being the rainy day friend.
Personally, I'm here for the commentary, not the makeup. I only watch the makeup content because I enjoy hearing you talk. You're a very insightful, thoughtful, and sincere young woman, and you give me so much hope for the future. xo
I know it's easy to say ''just do whatever you wanna do'' because UA-cam is really cut-throat about pleasing the analytics and it's honestly no surprise creators get burned out, but I wholeheartedly believe that you should do whatever you feel like putting your heart into at the moment. You're such a good creator, you're intelligent, well spoken and just super fun and comforting to watch. I'll literally consume whatever content you put out and I'm sure a lot of people feel that way.
I am selfishly SO glad you said what you want to be doing was your long form content-I could watch that every day. It’s my favorite to watch while I’m getting ready in the morning and making coffee and during my prep time at work. I’d LOVE to see more!!!
Everyone wants to talk about the difficulties of dating, but no one talks about how much harder it is to make /maintain friends in your mid-late twenties 😅 I miss college in that regard. It was so much easier making friends 😭 Also, just do whatever content YOU want to do. People are over makeup. You’ll be so much happier and we will all be here for it. I personally prefer your deep dives! They’re so well put together and engaging. Quality vs. quantity! We don’t need a Smokey Burnout 😅🔥 💨
Smokey, this wasn’t annoying, and def didn’t come off as complaining. Do your thing, do what excites you as you said. That’s all that matters. The real ones will still be here to watch it all!
You can't even imagine how incredibly reassuring it is to hear you speak on something as unpopular as losing friendships. i've dealt with a lot of difficult things but nothing has been as tough as accepting when past frienships were over or done. i love hearing you touch on this topic or any topic really. I wish you nothing but the best and i hope you can move past this! your videos are always a pleasure to watch whether they are make up related or whatever else, cause you're an amazing person!
The death of a friendship feels like a real death a lot of times, and you have to grieve. I'm sorry you have to go through that, having to experience the loss of a friendship that was there for your formative years is the toughest, and arguably more painful than a breakup. Sending all the love and good vibes 💛
right? it's the most painful thing.. it's like you grew up with these ppl and seeing them slowly drifting away feels so heavy :( I love being around close friends especially the one's I went to HS with.. cuz as she said, they're more of family :(( i hope no one ever gets to experience this, it's the worst..
It is a loss, just like a death or divorce. There’s a great book called “Starting Over, by John Gray” or Mars and Venus Starting Over and it’s all about loss. Death, divorce, friendship, etc. it’s a great book.
"friendship breakups" are honestly even harder than romantic breakups a lot of the time imo (speaking as someone who's always had a very small but extremely close social circle). maddie dragsbaek has a great podcast episode about breaking up with a friend that i'd recommend for some emotional support!
OH my gosh, I'm so glad you mentioned the podcast. I just had a breakup with 2 close friends so I listened to her podcast and CRIED and TOOK NOTES and whew, I needed that. Had the same situation she did, too. 2 close friends who ghosted around the same time. Ghosting SUCKS, our friendship was so much deeper, I thought. I agree with Maddie. I'd rather they punched me in the face.
I’m 1000% here for deep dives, commentary, long form, etc. as your enthusiasm and intelligence totally shine! evolution is everything because it’s where you’re meant to be rather than preventing ultimate change. it’s like what you’re dying to do is bursting at the seams. 🥰
it's the absolute worst... losing friends, especially ones that you want to keep your entire life, ones that are so special to you, it hurts. but.. we can get through it. im sorry you guys go through too
You could never be “annoying” when you are being so real, open, and honest. That honesty and humility (+ your intelligence and personality!) is why I subscribed. Do what inspires you.
It depends on whether you want the relationship obs. It can really hurt to lose a friendship especially when the person has come to be really important to you or if you have history with the person. Sometimes the reasons can involve betrayal etc.
The old adage “People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.” is VERY true.
@@applejuicyjuice I feel like it is really dependent on someone’s personality. I am a very sentimental person so I find myself reminiscing on the good times and forgetting about the bad. I had a friend break up 3 years ago that still affects me today. She was a very toxic person and definitely not healthy for me, but when she was in a good mood, she awesome to be friends with. When we first “broke up” I was like good riddance, but as time has passed I find myself missing some elements of our friendship. Though I do feel that a lot of this is due to there being no closure to the relationship. We were slowly drifting apart and then very suddenly we both cut each other off without saying anything due to an incident. I think I am still holding out for an apology that will never come and that makes it harder to let go. Sorry for the rambling 😂 I find this topic fascinating and I am interested to see how different people deal with friend break ups especially since I struggle with mine.
i wish creators would just talk to the viewers like this more. we care about how you feel and you just expressing your feelings to us makes us all feel so much more connected to you and your content
Losing friendships seem to be harder (in my opinion) than romantic breakups. I went through a really tough friendship breakup about 2 years ago and I've been hesitant to make even more friends. I've realized that those friends were meant for a season and not a lifetime.
that has happened to me as well... and unforchanutly i now keep my friends at a disstance and have never had a deep friendship since loosing that trust in someone.
I think losing a friendship after so many years is so strange because of how much knowledge you have about each other and to just end it can be like withdrawing from something so familiar. I ended a friendship with someone I considered my best friend and had grown up with almost like a sister, and even if it's been so long since it ended it still feels so strange somehow
I feel like it’s most fun when creators make content that *they* are passionate about. We love your channel for you so as long as you’re into what you’re talking about, this community will tune in ❤️
For what it’s worth, nothing makes me more excited than seeing that you have uploaded a juicy hour long deep dive. My favourite videos by far are commentary videos, I’ve been a subscriber for three years and love the evolution of your content, but absolutely LOVING this new phase of commentary because make up is cool but a little overdone now on UA-cam. I’m obsessed with Hannah!
I used to be so bummed that I didn't have as many "friends" as other people, but as I've gotten into my twenties I've come the really value the few friends I do have, because our bonds are that much stronger.
Honey I’m 35 and I’ve lost track of how many friends have come and gone in my life over the years. It never really stops honestly, friends will come and go your entire life.
I'm 38 and same. It's never "it" as far as friends coming and going. It won't always be so hurtful and dramatic though. People grow up, change, take different paths in life. 💗💗💗
was just gonna say that, I feel like in mid-20's it only begins. almost 35 too and very pleased with the friends I have now, but def been through a lot of fall outs in the last 10 years.
Same, I’m 33 and there were 6 of us in our core friend group and now there’s 4. Although we’re still “friends” with the other 2 but it’s more like acquaintances. One was due to a falling out and the other just kind of drifted away from us, never messaging us back, randomly sending a message in the group chat every few months. But honestly the 4 of us got super super close since then and we all talk jn our group chat every day. Things get different, but a lot of times, it can actually end up better
39 and same. Some friends are with us for a season and that’s okay. We can grieve and mourn their loss. The friends I’ve made in my 30s are totally different to those I had in my teens and 20s. Much more diverse and enriching (no shade to past friends, they would likely say the same!).
Just coming back after your newest video and it's heartbreaking ro watch knowing what was going on in your mind and heart at this tune. Im glad you sought out treatment, it's good to see you back 🖤
I don’t think you’re the only one not as interested in makeup content. I adore makeup, but even I’m burnt out. There has been SO many products released. I feel overwhelmed as a consumer. Your long form videos have interested me the most. I love hearing your thoughts ok everything 🖤
Right! I used to only watch make up videos, for over a year I watched them religiously but now I couldn’t even click one anymore. It‘s so overwhelming they‘ve really overkilled it
I’m going through a similar situation with losing a friendship that’s been around for 6+ years. I appreciate you talking about how you feel, it makes me feel less alone
Same. How awful and weird it was to have my best friend “break up with me”. I got over it and looking back see she was toxic. It takes time to get used to sitting alone at Starbucks, etc. I think I am sooooo much better off now.
So interesting to hear you talk about lost friendships. After college, all of my friends and I moved to completely different areas and sort of...lost touch. I tried reaching out to keep up contact but it just didn't work. I find myself feeling in need of new friends, but having a hard time doing so during a pandemic and working from home quite frequently. I have had falling outs with friends before, but never losing basically everyone at once. It's rough. I'm 24 and I have no friends who live remotely near me that I can hang out with. Its apparently a very common issue among millennials and the pandemic worsened it for everyone.
When content creators enjoy making content I can feel it. There’s a passion you have about commentary that is so easy to watch and consume. Please take time to figure out how you want to navigate everything. I started watching in 2019 from makeup/drama content you were making and have followed since. You can change it up and I’ll still be here! -marc
Also going through this since 2019 - honestly feels like I outgrew the friendship and if I tried to talk or be friends we just wouldnt have that much in common anymore. Good luck! I hope you find some great friends! 🧡
Same. And it came so unexpected. We finished secondary school last year and went to the next school being in the same class again, I guess she wanted to reinvent herself and didn't want our friendship anymore. Gave some hints instead of just ending it.
i hope this can help you a bit, but i went through a similar situation at the beginning of 2020. Being lonely is honestly the most eye opening experience I have ever had. It has strengthened both my boundaries, comfortability, and relationships in general. When you know what it is like to be lonely, even just once, it helps you understand the fear of cutting of friends is not scary but healing. It makes you understand that being alone is vital sometimes and not scary in the long run. Wishing you all the best right now!
You have my support to switch gears. If I’m honest, I definitely enjoy your commentary videos more. Not to say that your grwms aren’t just as nice. I just feel like the makeup community is dying down in general, and informative content is more acceptable given the state of the world right now. Best of wishes ❤️
I literally love your long form deep dive content, if I see a video under 25 minutes (from any UA-camr) I almost don’t wanna watch it because I love listening to people tell these stories while I’m cleaning or cooking or doing any activities that take a long time! I love your deep dives particularly because they’re very thought out and thorough! Do what makes you happiest bb we love you!!!
Be prepared for another “shift” in friendships between 28-30 years old. I think it’s that age at which we truly lock into “our people”. Especially where males are concerned. For some reason those years seem to be when you can actually count on the male figures more so than ever before. I’ll be 39 on Saturday so I’ve been doing a ton of reflecting on my 30s and how I want to wrap this decade up in my life this coming year. Health and friendships are some of my top areas to work on:)
Your deep dive videos are genuinely my favorite videos to watch on UA-cam because of how much effort and research you put into them! Do what you’re passionate about and you’ll always have people watching you!
I think.. focusing on what makes YOU happy is more important than just continuing the "status quo". I really love the new, well-researched videos you've been posting, because it is obvious that you legitimately care about what you're creating. You can feel the love of the subjects so much more. If you aren't happy, it will effect the product you produce. Do what fills you with joy.
in my opinion, your absolute BEST and most AMAZING content is your long-form, deep dives. i LIVE for them. make what you’re passionate about & we will receive it positively 💛💛💛
Losing friendships sucks so much. Especially if its like totally out of left field. That happened to me with a friend I had for about 13 years. This person basically just said they were done putting effort into our friendship and it was like wow ok. I didn't realize you were even faking it for so long. This is someone I considered a genuine true friend, and we were so close, even got coordinating tattoos together to represent our friendship. I don't regret the tattoo because I love it anyway (it's the air element symbol). But yeah it's a very strange time after losing a friendship it just lonely and definitely different than a breakup, but still very painful.
Losing close friendships is the worst. It's sadly happened to me a couple of times and it honestly can be worse than a romantic breakup. So sorry y'all are going through this, but sending love 💕
I really like the long form “history of” videos! The Yas and Pass vids are interesting but I’m on a drugstore budget right now anyways. I approve of a shift.
Wow losing a friend out of a group is totally relatable. That happened in my friend group. We were going to Vegas for someone’s 30th and had to uninvite one girl because of the falling out. Like give her Airbnb money back and all that. One night on the trip there was a little meltdown from the birthday girl cause they had been best friends the longest. It def does throw off the vibes but vacation was honestly so much better without that toxic friend.
Smokey I just want to say that you are literally so down to earth. Don’t listen to anyone who ever says anything negative because people will always find negative things to say regardless. But you’re not a hypocrite and we want to hear about your feelings:)
How's my summer going? I FINALLY went back to the movies with my mom and sister. As we were driving there my mom started crying because she works overtime a lot and doesn't get to spend time with us. The two hours was a light for her .
It's so nice to hear someone speak about loosing a close friendship. I 'lost' my best-friend friendship about 5 years ago... She was my ride or die sister and I grew up with her in primary school all the way through to my early 20s so we were about 15+ years deep. I still think about her every now and then, even to this day. I used to feel bad about it, not wanting to admit I'd lost such a close friend but we both went our separate ways and now I just hope she's doing okay. The friends that I have now (who I also grew up with) we're so much closer and it's made me appreciate those people who are your genuine friends, who genuinely care about you and actually want the best for you 💖 What you said about the late 20's friendships are so true!! Now I have "bro-maids" for my wedding instead of a bridesmaid and I couldn't be happier 😉 I know what it feels like and I hope you're doing okay and everything works out for the best for you too
Mother Smokey talking about burnout: "Is this burnout? Is that what burnout is? Is this textbook definition of burnout actually burnout or am I tricking myself into thinking it's burnout?"
Your deep dive/thesis content is my absolute favorite. If you’re passionate and happy about the content you’re making, that’s what makes it good. If that’s not makeup right now, then it’s not makeup right now!
I think you should start making the type of content YOU want to make. It doesn't matter what other people want, make the type of content you enjoy making. At the end of the day, this is your channel and anyone who truly supports and loves you will support you in whatever decisions you make with your content. And if you aren't loving the content you're making, what's really the point. We love and support you always, Hannah.
21:00 Its so upsetting to hear about your hesitancy around your content, especially your vlog channel! I love your videos, and I found your vlogs so refreshing; its nice to watch videos of you as a young woman just navigating life, because that's what I'm doing too!
I came to the realization recently that a really close friend I'd had in my life for years was just like...not interested in me or our friendship anymore. I had poured my heart out to this person and for them to just not be there -- I like, went through stages of grief. Ive accepted it now but losing friends can really be devastating. Also -- I love your long commentary style videos and I fully support you doing them more!
I haven't been on UA-cam in a month and immediately came to see your content. I think you should follow your heart, because I just love listening to your channel and your thoughts. Tbh I don't care about makeup, but I watch because its you! Anyway, I miss your videos and hope you are doing well. do what you WANT to do!
I had a loooong day at work and was ready to call it “just one of those days” when I got your notification! No matter what subject you talk about, I always look forward to hearing your stories and perspective!
Losing friendships is something people don't tall about enough. I feel like when people start getting married and having kids, friendships can drift apart.
I am still coping with the loss of my best friend of 10 years… we haven’t spoken in 4 months and his birthday is this week. I was especially sad about it tonight so UA-cam recommended this video to me at the right time. Thank u :’)
Losing a friend can be worse than a breakup, I lost a friendship after 15 years. And as far as your content, you know we are all here for whatever you want to do!!! ♥
idk about anyone else, but i personally love watching creators who clearly love making what they are making. if you wanna shift gears, have fun with it and embrace what makes you inspired to turn on the camera.
Feel better soon Smokey ♥️♥️ We completely understand your mental health comes first and we will be waiting for your comeback whenever it comes-take your time❤️
I feel you on losing good friendships and I can definitely relate to those “familial bond” feelings. There’s always ebbs and flows in relationships but sometimes you can’t overcome them and you ultimately have to let go, but that acceptance doesn’t mean it’s any less painful
Yes! My best friend and I stopped talking 2 years ago. At times I miss the time we had together but I remind myself that she isn’t a good person for me to spend my time on.
I will watch every minute of literally whatever content you make. You’re so well spoken and smart and down to earth, I watch for YOU, not for the makeup!
It’s so important to make the content that YOU want to make! When you are passionate about the content you are making, it shines through in the video! Personally, I love your deep dives and UA-cam history videos are some of my favorite that you’ve ever done! The Dramageddon video you did was amazing! Taking risks is scary, but I hope you know that you have loyal subscribers who will be with you every step of the way! Xo
I think you are right on point with the direction you want to take your content in. I enjoy watching all of your videos, but your deep dives are absolutely amazing and fascinating. I literally listen to them all day at work, so keep them coming!!!
I think a lot of viewers realized during quarantine they dont need to be wasting so much money on makeup. It happened to me. I also quit my job and havent been able to purchase new stuff and honestly it helped me realize its ok to miss out on things! i also got sick of the drama and started watching gamers streams instead. It was a nice break from makeup content
Love you Hannah, you're content is something I didn't know I needed. I remember when I found you and you really changed my outlook on so many things. You're an inspiration and a beautiful person.
Thank you for the honest life update!! You’re my absolute fav person on UA-cam and I enjoy all of your videos. I recently realized the majority of the pressure and stress I had in my life all came from standards I set for myself and no one else. Although I don’t know what it’s like to do UA-cam as a content creator, I feel like I understand everything you said in this video. I hope you continue to make videos that excite you and let go of some of the pressure to do anything other than that. Your content brings me and your other fans so much joy. It’s natural for your interests to change and haters are gonna pick apart finding any reason to unfairly criticize you. I think what you’ve been feeling, a lot of people can relate to if it’s UA-cam or not, we all grow and change and sometimes it’s hard to accept because it feels like maybe we’re losing a part of ourselves that we loved but it opens your life up to new passions which is ultimately a beautiful thing ❤️
I’m going through the same with a friendship and just can’t tell you how much I needed this video. It’s nice to know we’re not alone sometimes, thank you ❤️
I like the deep dives and that is my favorite type of content you post. I like some of the beauty content you make but honestly I would listen whatever you talk about.
Losing friendships is so hard and it isn't talked about enough. I'm sorry that you're going through it; it sucks so much. Not knowing what to do with all the love you have for them, the shared memories, or the tidbits of information about them that you still carry... It's confusing and painful and washes over you in waves
Thank you for talking about friendships and the tides with making and losing those. I’m 23 and been thinking about that a lot now that im out of college and glad im not alone
I think your 'evolution of' videos are truly brilliant. The researched content you do is always so well thought out and generates really important discussions - plus I just enjoy hearing you discuss these things so passionately. Regardless of all that though I really do believe in being the most 'you' you can be in life - so in short - do you! :)
Girl, I am here for the analysis! Chase your bliss! Also, I definitely know how hard it is to lose a friend you thought you'd have for the rest of your life. I'm glad you've got a support system that's there for you
Girl, you need to make the videos that you want to make. I personally love your longer form content and deep dives, those are my favourite t watch (don't get me wrong I love your makeup videos too) but when I have just made lunch and I sit down and I see you have uploaded a 20+ min video, pure bliss. I also think that if you're making videos that you truly enjoy it really shows through. So don't feel pressure to make what you have always done and just make what you like doing. You may lose a few views but you will also gain a lot because they love this content too. Hope you are doing well and I love your videos
This past year has been rough on my friendships and literally just went through a friendship breakup this weekend so this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. Watching your videos is so relaxing to me and you always feel so relatable and real ❤️
Oh my gosh Hannah!! I love your in depth videos! Those are comforting to me and literally give me energy to get out of bed and get my day started. It’s like my music. Please do more!
I can't tell you how grateful I was to see this on my homepage. Having one of those nights and it feels so comforting and affirming and calming to listen to you. Just did some hardcore journaling and this is just what I needed to zen out and wind down so I can get some sleep. Thank you for doing what you do.
I'm so here for more deep dive videos, that's why I started watching your channel! I find your takes on youtube drama really interesting from a psychological point of view. You seem like you intuitively understand the psychology of influencers, and the relationship between viewer and influencer, in a way that other commentary channels do not, while also having a lot of factual knowledge.
I'm so ride or die for your content Hannah! Your long form content and commentary is what brought me to your channel and your passion for it definitely comes through in your videos. I am happy to see you grow no matter what you're working on
Do what makes you happy! It’s like quitting a job that you hate. Sure it’s scary and consequences may follow, but in the long run you end up happier and that’s what matters most. You’ve also talked about people making content just to stay relevant or make others happy and I think you should remember what you said about that. If you do this solely to please others that’s selling out, but if you do it for yourself it doesn’t matter what people say. I watch you for your honesty and your open minded discussions, don’t lose those qualities just because you’re scared. You got this!
I love that you talk about real life things like loosing friendships, it is absolutely something that as you grow up happens. I wish I could say differently, but it does always hurt if it was a meaningful relationship. ❤️❤️
I LOOOOOOVE the long form commentary videos, but I love them a lot because I can tell how much you enjoy them!! It comes across the screen to see how passionate you are about those topics. I look forward to them every time!
I really love the evolution of series/the UA-cam history videos!!! I also love the makeup but I will always watch anything that you make so don’t worry love 💗 we will be around to support you
You are so real, so self-reflective, and so inspiring. You have helped me feel like I'm not the only one who feels the way you've described. Thank you.
For me, I started eating because you talked about the drama, but I've kept watching because of you thoughtful insights. The videos you've made on deeper topics, such as children's privacy, are clearly a passion for you. Do work that is fulfilling. 🧡
Listening to you just sit and talk to everyone and being so open was so refreshing. It’s nice to hear someone be so real about normal struggles. As long as you’re happy with your content that’s the most important thing!❤️ I can relate to feeling a little lost with content and changing as I’m getting older. Just know that the people who like you for you will stick around❤️
Honestly...... your long-form ranty/in-depth/investigative/research-based content is my FAVOURITE content on UA-cam....... like.... everrrrrr. Do what makes you happy! Your real stans won't be bothered by whatever content you choose to put out. They just like YOU as a person ❤ Stop overthinking. YOU'RE FINE xx
Hi friend! (Or anyone else who sees this) if you ever feel lonely please know I am here for you. My social media is literally @bricekrispies on everything. Don’t hesitate to reach out and let’s chat🥰
Same.Never really made any in school or college or work. It's a weird random depressing moments. Makes having a good relationship with family important. For me my mom has been the closest thing I have for a friend. At least I get to talk lol hope you find someone to at least talk to. Even basic life updates help.
I'm glad you posted this. Seems like everyone across different platforms and communities is going through this burn out thing. I'm a fandom writer, and there's a discussion I've been having with friends about pressure to produce content that (we think) our readers/viewers want, and doing what made us popular in the first place: doing what we love, and making the content that makes us happy. When that changes, I think our content has to change too, and I've actually been having way more fun going back to making whatever I want and not caring about high numbers. My ride or die readers will always be there, and that should be enough! I'm actually excited to see more of your analytical videos. those are my favorite! I love your manner of presentation and if you like what you're doing, it comes across in your videos. ❤️
Yes, that's burn out. Or at least it sounds like it to me. Or maybe creator's block? Hm. Hopefully you get back the creative spark. I hate feeling that fatigue hole. I'm excited for the future of your channel! I love long form videos!
Your long form videos are my favourite videos you make. I love hearing you talk and your points of view. I love hearing more about it then just the surface.
Love hearing your life updates. My summer ... my fiancee and I got our own place and bought a brand new car. It's been so much fun settling in and being on our own. I've been creating makeup looks again and just enjoying life.
I LOVE your deep dive videos. I watch your makeup content because I like you as a creator but your longer, more in depth videos are my fave. Do whatever feels best for you 💕
Losing friends is so challenging! I’ve definitely lost a few I never expected within the last year. It’s weird, but it’s for the best! A lot of people seem to be in that place right now. Sending all of you virtual hugs 💛
Hearing you speak your mind makes me feel better, because you are saying a lot of things that have been weighing on me as well. I also care too much about what other people are saying, so I appreciate you talking about it. Thank you ❤️
i hope this isn’t a strange comment but i could literally listen to you talk forever- just something about the way you speak is so engaging even for me as a person who is not immediately interested in makeup lol
Same. I recently discovered the lovely Smokey Glow and have been binging....love love love all the videos.
Same here, I sometimes feel she has not been posting enough and feels like weeks that she hasn't post but she usually posts every week one or two videos.
Same!
Same!! It is seriously a talent!
Omg Jaime ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love u so much
reading and hearing the last part this video helped me so much.. i also feel that preassure about what everyone on youtube says "stay on your niche"... and is like... but i also love this other thing, and hearing you i am more secure about uploading that content that i put so much effort researching and i've had for a month, but i was afraid on posting that because it "doesn't fit in my niche" the thing is IT DOESNT FIT, and also I LOVE these topics... so why not?
Jaime you’re exactly who I thought of! Great advice for Hannah! I agree you should follow what you want to do Hannah!
You girls got plain, simple growin' pains and I'm here for it!! I will tell you, they never stop for some of us, so roll with them when they happen. The only thing that grows in stagnant waters is stink!!
Jaimeeee how crazy to find you here 😂 I love your content as well ❤️
I think after dramageddon, I completely fell off the “makeup community”.
Same. I literally only do lashes now basically and brows
Same
I’m the same
@@aud2d2 same although I started falling in love with makeup again 🥰
I've lost a handful of "friends" recently due to finally setting boundaries and it's LONELY, but I know it's for the best. Watching your vids feels like hanging with a good friend. 💕
Its better to be lonely than being in bad company.
Sending love to all who need a little extra!!!
You're a very insightful, thoughtful, and sincere young woman, and you give me so much hope for the future. xo
agree
Same
Sameee
Well said! Agree very much.
Same I am here for more commentary than makeup because commentary is what I watch more off than makeup
Ditto
Same ☺️
Agree 👍
I am selfishly SO glad you said what you want to be doing was your long form content-I could watch that every day. It’s my favorite to watch while I’m getting ready in the morning and making coffee and during my prep time at work. I’d LOVE to see more!!!
Everyone wants to talk about the difficulties of dating, but no one talks about how much harder it is to make
/maintain friends in your mid-late twenties 😅 I miss college in that regard.
100% agree
that's why it's important to me that i use the internet and find people near me with similar interests.
totally
Yes!! This!!!
I need someone to teach me how to make friends as an adult 😭
Had to skip that part, too raw right now. I think we all go through it
The death of a friendship feels like a real death a lot of times, and you have to grieve.
Hear hear. Also it's not really made space for in the same way as a death or a breakup imo
Thank you SO much for that recommendation!!
I’m 1000% here for deep dives, commentary, long form, etc. as your enthusiasm and intelligence totally shine! evolution is everything because it’s where you’re meant to be rather than preventing ultimate change. it’s like what you’re dying to do is bursting at the seams. 🥰
Friendships ending is truly heartbreaking. A different kind of hurt. I’m sorry you’re going through that :(
it's the absolute worst... losing friends, especially ones that you want to keep your entire life, ones that are so special to you, it hurts. but.. we can get through it. im sorry you guys go through too
You could never be “annoying” when you are being so real, open, and honest. That honesty and humility (+ your intelligence and personality!) is why I subscribed. Do what inspires you.
It’s always hard to lose a friendship. Sometimes it happens gradually and sometimes it happens quickly. Either way it’s painful. I’m so sorry Hannah.
Can’t agree with that. I’ve ended several long term friendships over the last several years and didn’t blink an eye. When you’re done, you’re done.
It depends on whether you want the relationship obs. It can really hurt to lose a friendship especially when the person has come to be really important to you or if you have history with the person. Sometimes the reasons can involve betrayal etc.
The old adage “People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.” is VERY true.
applejuicyjuice everyone’s situation is different but that doesn’t change the fact that people still can be hurt from losing a friendship.
I agree with you so much about the first part!
that has happened to me as well... and unforchanutly i now keep my friends at a disstance and have never had a deep friendship since loosing that trust in someone.
@@greentree211 I relate
Meant for a season, not a lifetime. Love that!
You’re evolving as an adult-it’s totally normal and acceptable. Take it from an old lady-let your evolving happen and let yourself be happy.
Honey I’m 35 and I’ve lost track of how many friends have come and gone in my life over the years. It never really stops honestly, friends will come and go your entire life.
Same ❤️ 33 and feeling like I’m starting over. Can’t wait to find my new ride or die friends, if I ever do
I'm 38 and same.
Same. 1000x same!
When content creators enjoy making content I can feel it. There’s a passion you have about commentary that is so easy to watch and consume. Please take time to figure out how you want to navigate everything. I started watching in 2019 from makeup/drama content you were making and have followed since. You can change it up and I’ll still be here! -marc
You had me at “losing friendships.” I’m going through that ( or have been for six months ) and would love to hear your perspective and wisdom
Awwww. All the best 💙
Also going through this since 2019 - honestly feels like I outgrew the friendship and if I tried to talk or be friends we just wouldnt have that much in common anymore.
Good luck! I hope you find some great friends! 🧡
Thought she was gonna talk about ~you know who~
I love how you talk about things and I'll be here for whatever kind of content brings you joy.
You have such a gift for commentary. That’s the main reason why I subscribed
Same reason I subscribed!!!
I'm subscribed to all of your channels, and I just enjoy listening to you talk about whatever you want to talk about!
You have my support to switch gears. If I’m honest, I definitely enjoy your commentary videos more. Not to say that your grwms aren’t just as nice. I just feel like the makeup community is dying down in general, and informative content is more acceptable given the state of the world right now. Best of wishes ❤️
Same!
Same!!!

Same :-)
I literally love your long form deep dive content, if I see a video under 25 minutes (from any UA-camr) I almost don’t wanna watch it because I love listening to people tell these stories while I’m cleaning or cooking or doing any activities that take a long time!
I completely agree!!
in my opinion, your absolute BEST and most AMAZING content is your long-form, deep dives. i LIVE for them. make what you’re passionate about & we will receive it positively 💛💛💛
I come to you for the commentary. I miss listening to a deep dive in the morning while getting ready. Do what makes you happy.
I love this.
Overthinking the overthinking
Your deep dive/thesis content is my absolute favorite. If you’re passionate and happy about the content you’re making, that’s what makes it good. If that’s not makeup right now, then it’s not makeup right now!
I think you should start making the type of content YOU want to make. It doesn't matter what other people want, make the type of content you enjoy making. At the end of the day, this is your channel and anyone who truly supports and loves you will support you in whatever decisions you make with your content. And if you aren't loving the content you're making, what's really the point. We love and support you always, Hannah.
My thoughts exactly! Whatever she makes/talks about is so genuine, we love to watch!
You're an inspiration and a beautiful person.
videos like these make me feel like i'm hanging out with a friend in my dorm room just chilling
It’s nice to know we’re not alone sometimes, thank you ❤️
Me too and it's hard. Sending you virtual hugs! We are not alone.
Love these life updates :) I always appreciate your openness with what you’re dealing with! WE MISS THE VLOGS!!
Thank you.
Loving these late-night posts SO much. Perfect time to make popcorn 🍿
Honestly same, I've been friendless for 2 years now, like actually no friends, all I do is sleep and attend my online lectures, it's so depressing.
@@BryceALivingston that’s so sweet of u to offer to them. i was in OPs place last year and people like you offering support literally saved my life.

You are literally the only person I watch when I wanna watch GRWMs!!! You’re so good at keeping us interested
“Family stuff” is the most universal thing ever.
Hearing you speak your mind makes me feel better, because you are saying a lot of things that have been weighing on me as well. I also care too much about what other people are saying, so I appreciate you talking about it. Thank you ❤️
