- An expedition to the hidden springs where John baptized people. While we were mostly familiar with the Jordan River being the baptismal place, the gospels mention that John the Baptist also baptized people in an area called "Aenon near Salim". So we are going on a mission to find out if this place still exists today!

People often forget that John the Baptist is the son of Zechariah the Zadokite priest from the tribe of Levi. His birth was announced by archangel Gabriel to Zechariah, his father, when he was doing service in the Holy of Holies in the Temple. So we can say John the Baptist is as Jewish as he can be.

Jewish by faith in his religion to honor the commandment..
All were Hebrews until, the tribes were separated. This happened 120 years in the Promised land.The largest tribe carried the name for all. Judah, Benjamin and Levi (the only tribe that did not own land)Levi was the tribe who were Priests in the temple. These three tribes were called Jews. The second tribes under Israel were the rest.

The living water that removes our defilement- the spring for baptism was also living water that every Jewish person could understand the remission of sin and washing of defilement. Jesus our living water.

Thank you for this video. I never gave any thought to “Aenon near Salim” before. It was incredible to see the area around there and to know it wasn’t too far from the Jordan River. Yohanon a Jewish prophet of the sons of Aaron (as was Jeremiah) called the people to turn back to Yehovah and His ways. Those who did, had their hearts prepared to receive Messiah. Those who did not, missed him.

Wow! I broke down and wept at the thought that John the Baptist was there baptizing with the baptism of repentance. And we need to repent again and allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse us with His fire of repentance. Of course, topography has changed over the milennia - what was once dry land can now be under water and what was once springs and marshland, can be desert... Agriculture and military occupation of land definitely plays a major role in the terrain and landscape. Wherever you look and dig in Israel, there's a story to be told! God bless this land.
