Why on earth would he get fired? Finished 4th in the east and made it to the semis, losing to a more talented and experienced Celtics team, while be hindered by injuries. Very perplexing move by the Cavs
Watch the games. Standings are only a small part of the whole picture. He stuck with bad rotations way too long and drew up some of the worst ATO plays I’ve ever seen. Can’t see this team win another championship with him at the helm.

I’m a cavs fan, and if you watched them at all throughout the season one of JB’s biggest weaknesses is in game adjustments. There was several games where he wouldn’t, or he made the wrong adjustments which cost them games.

He’s made a lot of questionable decisions and the cavs are trying to make that next step and be a contender. It’s not all on jb, some is on garland. Some injury issues but ultimately jb had to go

As a Cavs fan, I think they did him dirty. Aside from Mitchell and Allen being out, Levert was also. No one was going to beat Boston missing 3 of their top 6 players. J.B. got them to a 4th seed with many injuries over the season, Mobley missed like 30 games, and Mitchell, Garland, and Wade all missed 20+. He did a great job with what he had. It is true that he needed to make adjustments better, but that takes a bit of time to learn, plus, he often lacked the personnel. I think this is all about Mitchell, he apparently didn't want him and they are pandering. They will end up hiring someone, the team will need time to adjust. They will end up not doing so well, and Mitchell will end up leaving anyway. It would be one thing if there were some amazing other options, but there really aren't. Vogel is probably the best option, and he just got swept in the first round with having a top 20 player of all time on his roster. On a completely different note, I don't understand why Stephen A has to bring race into everything.
He wasn't fired for losing to Boston. He was fired for his overall coaching through, not only the season, but also his entire time in Cleveland. His teams manage to go on a two weeks run every season to give them a plus 500 record but most of the season they're just a 500 team. We see that they're capable of more but because of coaching they don't ever really maintain that level of play.

Going into the playoffs everyone knew that JB was coaching for his job. They knew his job was on the line. So what did the Cavs do in the playoffs? First they almost got upset by an average, albeit improving, Orland team that absolutely emberassed the Cavs in two of the games. The Cavs could only win beat them at home and needed a historic comeback to win game 7 in Cleveland. Then they lost in 5 games in Boston. Granted the Cavs had injuries but so did Boston. So why are people surprised that he's been fired? Why would anyone say he doesn't deserve this?
I been a huge cavs fan for 30 years....and JB's a great coach but you CANT play your star to death...Mitchell was just coming off injuries and for JB to give him that many minutes in the playoffs to the point where he got hurt AGAIN, was beyond terrible. I don't blame the CAVS for firing him.......
How the heck would you know if he deserved to be fired. Only the organization knows their conversations, and whether he was following direction or causing internal issues. They also might have a feeling that things in and around the locker room needed to change, and firing the coach is a great way to bring that change. It's their business. They should run it the way they desire.

First they almost got upset by an average, albeit improving, Orland team that absolutely emberassed the Cavs in two of the games. The Cavs could only win beat them at home and needed a historic comeback to win game 7 in Cleveland.
Then they lost in 5 games in Boston. Granted the Cavs had injuries but so did Boston.
So why are people surprised that he's been fired? Why would anyone say he doesn't deserve this?
I been a huge cavs fan for 30 years....and JB's a great coach but you CANT play your star to death...Mitchell was just coming off injuries and for JB to give him that many minutes in the playoffs to the point where he got hurt AGAIN, was beyond terrible. I don't blame the CAVS for firing him.......
This is good news for other teams like the Lakers
How the heck would you know if he deserved to be fired. Only the organization knows their conversations, and whether he was following direction or causing internal issues. They also might have a feeling that things in and around the locker room needed to change, and firing the coach is a great way to bring that change. It's their business. They should run it the way they desire.

For yall the people that are just now getting to know JB. JB was terrible in adjusting in game situations, terrible rotations, and lineups. There’s a reason why he was 6-12 in the playoffs. Here’s an example… why wasn’t Marcus Morris playing in game 4? When they needed all the scoring they could have gotten from the bench. And then boom, look at what he does game 5? That’s just the manny reasons why that he needed to go.
Got fired because Garland can’t score 15 points a game and Mobley can’t shoot! 🤦🏾♂️
All the coaches who got fired this year DESERVED IT , all of them !
What more could he have done? Mitchell was injured every playoffs.
Okay, I don't understand CLEARLY they had NO CHANCE whatsoever against Boston and Mitchell didn't play their last 2 games against the Boston.
J.B. wasn't going to be the one to get the Cavs to being a championship contender. He served his purpose and got the Cavs out of the rebuilding stages.
