What boggles my mind is how 50% of the population is on at least one prescription drug and 42+% are obese. Specifically, how did neither Biden or Trump mention these #1 issues? How CAN the country "run" at all if people are so unhealthy? Like think about it when you're driving down the road and cars are passing you at 60 mph going the opposite direction.

Uh, hate to say it, but I've seen a lot of senior moments on the campaign trail which do not make the GOP candidate look good. Much worse that what we saw with Biden. Here’s what I think. Trump had a choice, to either play by the rules and find himself cornered because everyone is already against him. Or prove at Biden’s incompetence by throwing him off script curveballs and conjectures.
Both of them did not answer the prompt, because they kept going back and forth about past discussions.
However it got me thinking, if Trump laid out his plans for how he’s going to fix this or handle that and he loses, he wouldn’t get any credit for the plans he created. We all should know this because we’ve all done group projects before, there’s always that one person who doesn’t do any work but on the day of the presentation or whatever they steal the show and make it seem like it was always their plan.
My mind has already been made up. So it’s the rest of the nation to come to the realization of what’s really going on. Most of them are too busy sleeping because they’re too tired to think for themselves.

Judging by the comments on videos about the debate, I think I may be the only "democrat" or really just the only voter who a) seeks out multiple sources and actually listens to what is being said, and b) who does more than muckrake the side they don't like.
Now that I've angered the trump troupe, maybe they will be engaged enough to listen to the thoughts of someone who isn't on their bandwagon- or maybe this comment will just get deleted/reply bombed by more mindless schlock and no one will bother using what God put between their ears.
Biden lost this debate, hands down. He needed to be seen as aware and engaged, and he didn't; he spoke too fast and stumbled over his words, didn't shut down the lies made by Trump, and seemingly let Trump get under his skin. That said, just because Biden lost, that doesn't mean Trump won. Truthfully, I think they both lost. The debates these next few months only matter for the tiny number of people who didn't have their vote decided since 2022; the swing voters who are looking for the least of two evils. To those people, Trump's lies, over exaggerations, and propensity to fall to ad hominem attacks rub the wrong way and all of those were in full display. Not to mention, while Trump was mentally present on the stage this time, for those who paid attention to the trials, they'll know that Biden isn't the only one who dozes off while he's in the limelight.
As an everyday layman like the rest of us, my moderately researched and non professional opinion is as follows:
I believe the results of this debate will be the Trump voter's becoming even more entrenched in their support, the Democrats getting the morale shaken though not enough to seriously pull Biden (let's be honest, the Dems have an issue of habit and falling back on the same few faces, and now that list of notable people is just Biden, there's no one to replace him since Harris was shelved for the past 4 years (and for good reason too!)). Finally, the swing voters will realize that votes for Biden are actually votes for Harris regardless of if Biden kicks it in office- there's no way she isn't picking up the slack, and that votes for trump are for someone who will say and do anything to make himself look better; from lying to the witch hunts he rails so hard against to simply breaking the law if it suits him.
Truthfully, and I hope this sentiment is echoed across the aisle and regardless of who you vote for come November, the 2016 election was a circus, the 2020 was a childish mess, and this 2024 one is a joke. None of the candidates have been in a position to run, they're all out of touch, and they've done nothing but harm to our country though policy and dividing us.
We are one people, under God, with liberty and justice for all. Shame on us for turning against our own countrymen, and shame on all the politicians in D.C. who conned us into doing it.
