It doesn't mean you're not an adult, grown or mature when you choose to respond in a manner that isn't complicit with the norm. At some point, there has to be a new norm. My great aunts and uncles (born in 1930s), my dad and mom (born in 50 and 58) and others apart of those times, all had that same mentality when they were coming up; peaceful. Now, most of us in our 30s and 40s are watching a 4th generation respond in a manner that, you can say, is deemed necessary after decades of so called "peaceful." The ultimate move, at some point is a combination of both...as we're seeing in the now. Know matter which move you decide to be part of (even if it's both), be smart, be safe and remember the goal and objective...whenever it becomes established. And that is my biggest concern. We're protesting and all, but haven't established true goals and objectives. In several cities around the country we're marching and chanting to justice for Mr. Floyd (Rest In Peace), but the justice for him can only be served in the city in which it occured. If we're gonna be marching and protesting, go to the homes of your senators and governors. They have the most power for change, bot the mayor's. It's easy for a governor or senator to not be concerned when the pressure is being put on those with NO power. Your governors and senators can began the change that needs to happen systematically. If you wanna know what else we should be doing, go pick up all of Dr. Claude Anderson's books. If we're all doing the same thing, we're easily stopped and silenced. But if we diversify the movement then we can move at once as a unit; having a greater affect that will have more of a long term effect. We must plan, strategize, organize and implement on our own behalf, as Killer Mike has stated. We are only hurting ourselves by destroying our own neighborhoods. I stood on the street of my city for 7 hours yesterday and yes, what happened was wrong and yes justice needs to be done, BUT, these innocent business and home owners don’t have anything to do with it and don’t deserve losing their businesses/homes. That’s WRONG. Direct the anger at the ones who deserve it and let it be an eye for an eye, but not the innocent.
