This is a very interesting conversation by prominent people. The question is, when is it possible to implement all these great ideas ?
No one is talking about the cause and effect.
I summit the panel that the sanctions are the God sent gift to the rulers of Iran. It is the power of sanctions that allowing monopolies to function exclusively. It is the monopolies that have suffocated entrepreneurial competition and development and consequently the unemployment, particularly amongst the younger population.
Are we assuming that the day after regime change all 4000+ sanctions are going to be lifted, and Iran will join "swift" banking system?
I further summit to the learned friends that these discussion are some decade or two too early.
Let's assume we have a new government in Iran next week, under what conditions will these sanctions be lifted. Are the Western/ Eastern powers going to allow Iran to have an independent economy or foreign policy. Will they allow Iran to function an a none "Rentier State" state?

You are very smart. These are the difficult questions that have to be answered.
Here's another question: Let's say Iran has a new government tomorrow - does Iran get to pursue nukes if they wanted? Iran is no stooge.

Very interesting conversations, thank you 💐 I dont know wether it's beneficial for the goal since everybody inclusing the IR can hear everything too, but I would like to hear more about how to transform Iran to a free, independent and flourishing state! 🙏

I’m surprised at the expression of extreme optimism by almost every panel member. What’s the rational basis to be so optimistic? Iran is a country which has been destroyed by the kleptotheocracy during the past forty three years. The social fiber of the Iranian society has been shredded. You can’t observe at the top engineers educated at Sharif University and their top performance and turn optimistic about a broken down country.
Perhaps there’s a chance (albeit a slim chance) that Iran can bounce back and build a coherent political, legal and ground based system in which a burgeoning economy could start to grow.
I am skeptical at the unrealistic manner the panel is looking at the problems of Iran.
The risk of starting with unrealistic assumptions is to set up people for disillusion and failure.
I too would love to see a growing and fast developing Iran. But in my opinion a degree of caution and realism will be a sounder base to start on this “the mother of all startups”!

Iran should be a superpower. But Iranians need to decide their future inside of Iran - not with US interference.
Also, the main issue is corruption in Iran. Strong anti-corruption laws need to be implemented and followed at any cost.

Excellent topic and I've only just begun listing so can't say much about the substance of the talk. However, ignorance about the design of video thumbnails is endemic among academic organisations. With panelists looking to their left the thumbnail for this video is amusingly random. Half the screen is taken up with a tablecloth and carpet. Would you pick a book off a bookshop bookshelf to thumb though it if it had such an uninformative image on its cover?
