The reason she got some playing time at the end was because she chose not to renew her contract. Then it's natural that Emma chooses to try playing with others, why build her team on someone who doesn't want to stay? Then came injuries which meant that Magda still had to play. It is of course a joint decision that they choose to leave when both their contracts end anyway. It will probably be Bayern and it will be fun to follow them. Although they will be missing in the Wsl. We will probably find out why they leave later. I'm guessing it has to do with CL and new challenges.

They both are getting older so it is good to make a move before it's too late. It is not uncommon that both partners want to stay in same team or move as an unit to a new team. Same can be said on other sports. In my team (different sport) there are 3 couples (including me and my partner). We made that move as we train together, go to competitions together, so we want to utilise it as much as we can. I would never want to be in another team than my partner 😊

And everything said about Chelsea is true: they are ruthless in their player management and need a deep, deep squad to stay top in all competitions. The trophy that is missing is Champion's League. Chelsea have developed or acquired other fullbacks to prepare for Magda eventually leaving (Kadeisha Buchanan has won 5 UCL with Lyon. Perisset has a UCL medal with Lyon and has been rock solid. Jess Carter is signed through 2025. Niamh Charles is brilliant and only 23.) But why not keep a top striker as along as they can? Answer is that they are signing Catarina Macario on a free transfer this summer. She is just coming back from injury,, has undeniable potential and is really still at the start of her career. I believe if Macario were not joining Magda and Pernille would have been extended for two years. Pernille and Magda will make Bayern a better team - hopefully we won't regret it.

The experience shows that couples that have been separated, often don't last in a long distance relationship (Beth Mead, Vivianne Miedema, Alisha Lehmann...) I hope that Katie und Ruesha didn't break up so shortly before the Worldcup.
