Most of the recover gear has been around for decades like the exitrack and exhaust airbag jack
but if you look at an engine and improve upon it thats what they are doing here they are improving upon what is already out there with the recovery gear whats wrong with that?
We used a 'wheel-winch' to self-recover an M-113A1 back in the 80's
