My dude thank you very very much this was exactly my issue on my Odyssey 2013, managed to fix it and it worked like a charm(the fuel sensor looked exactly like yours). The Honda dealer here in Puerto Rico made a wrong diagnosis and had my warranty pay them over 600 bucks for the actuator and all the lock and unlock mechanism. Thank you very much for saving me some money. God bless you and your family and happy 2023.
I have the same symptom but my door can unlock just fine. If I switch the power doors off and try to pull open, the door comes out like 1/2 inch and doesn’t want to continue… this is probably a latch issue then right?
If it’s unlocking ok then it’s definitely not this problem. The next place I’d look is the upper rollers on the back of the door that go bad frequently but there ares so many things that can go wrong on these doors that would just be a total guess. Hope you find your problem and there’s lots of videos on how to fix those roller guides problems.
The first thing to look for is if the switch for sensing the gas door position is in place. What tipped me off was that it was acting the exact same way it acted when the gas filer door was opened. The door would simply not move at all and didn’t try to move. It wasn’t binding either. If your door moves at all than it’s probably not this switch causing the issue.
@@yourdiytechlife thank you. I actually took off the speaker to take a look this is the problem for sure. My sensor is broken right where yours is. I’m going to try and jimmy it first before replacing the whole sensor. I appreciate your help!
Sure. The second layer was cloth soaked in slow setting epoxy and then wrapped around both the cable and the housing so it further re enforces and attaches the cable to the housing.
Hi I just fixed the Odyssey 2008 Driver side Power sliding door. When you open the sliding door 3 beeps and nothing happens and the door just closes, unable to clock or unlock, all other doors working fine. The issue is the cable DOOR STOPPER SENSOR. It was very simple to fix it,Just took me 15 minute to fix it. How did I do it? I open the speaker cover on back driver side, Use the plastic tools took about 1or 2 minutes take the speaker out Open 3 screws of speaker push the latch of cable and remove the speaker out so we have room to work Twist the cable and full up the to the place of the speaker and inspect it My cable broke at the end of the part that just took out ,that is why when the gas door closed but the sensor did not work the computer thought the gas window was open so it disable to that door. I used the metal wire to tighten on the broken part out the wire back to the body so it can hold the wire inside able to move to the sensor. Then I test it work right away What is the reason I thought the cable sensor was bad? Before taking the gas from Costco it worked fine, Then I remember I did a bad thing during pumping the gas. Instead of get in line to the side of gas door but when I saw the other land open, then I moved to that land it opposite with my gas door then move the gas line over top then to gas window put the gas tank, it hit so hard during I went to select the gas. That is why it damages my DOOR STOPPER SENSOR. So that is my lesson, don't do it next time.
There was not. If you have that there is most likely something else causing the issue. When the gas door sensor physically breaks the computer just thinks the gas door is open and won’t throw any other warning. It is possible you have two problems including the gas door sensor.
It might be the same issue on the driver side but I can’t be on the passenger side. I would bet money you have other problems going on or possibly multiple issues. If they both stopped at the same time o would start with things that are common between the doors like fuses and so on. Start with the simple stuff.
Hey Lisa, there are so many things that might be causing these issues but there are some good youtube videos on it. here are some links. ua-cam.com/video/gwgL5Oo8rXw/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/ipXv6PSTIMA/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/KoQJ5bwqECQ/v-deo.html

Your most welcome and I’m glad this saved you some cash 😁.
Have a happy new years 🥳🎊
Thanks so much Dan. Your tips helped me to fix the sliding problem.
Fantastic! And thanks for the feedback.
Perfect Dan. I was able to just pull the part out of the speaker hole and epoxy it while it was still in the car.
Oh that’s awesome, Your better than me😁. I didn’t even think to try that. 👍👍
I only thought of it because you did the work already.
Fixed my issue! Thank you!
Glad this worked for you👍

How did you decide that this was the problem? I’m having the same symptoms, but would prefer to not have to try all the different fixes. Thanks!

This is happening to my passenger sliding door.
This is great. I've accessed the culprit via the speaker. I didn't catch what you did for the second layer, could you elaborate? Thanks!
Sure. The second layer was cloth soaked in slow setting epoxy and then wrapped around both the cable and the housing so it further re enforces and attaches the cable to the housing.

Great and thx
was there a "check left sliding door" message on your dash?

Brian did you ever fix your issue?
What is this part called??
Nancy Giron it’s called the gas door open sensor
Both my sliding doors are not opening, I cant manually open them either. would this be the same issue on the passenger side? I have a 2006 Odyssey

@@yourdiytechlife I've tried resetting the doors, fuses and nothing. :(
