That is a good question. Pros: - Small box - Inexpensive - Interesting gameplay with a unique resource management building - Very nice engine building (both when it comes to ongoing abilities of built buildings but also your donkey track) - Decent variability given the pretty minimal components (we think here about the initial set-up of the wall and landmark cards but also the cards that actually come into play) - It is a race game (game end triggers when one builds 6 buildings) - Has a solo mode Cons - Rulebook (obviously), but there is an errata file online and an excellent unofficial iconography guide) - Take a considerable amount of table space for such a small game - Has some luck element (luck of draw with respect to buildings and oracle cards) (really, not many cons from our perspective!!) Also, nice to keep in mind - Takes a bit more time than one would expect from such a small game (about 30-45 minutes) - It is not a gateway game by any means!
@boardgamecourt I would have to go for: Shut up and shut down, no pun included, no rolls barred and boardgame hangover! But i also like the broke meeple, Lord of the board and bad at boardgames. So many good channels to watch!
Thank you for the suggestions! These are some good stuff. Intrigued by Fleet Commander Genesis but seems important to find a copy. Are you a space theme fan generally?
Do you ever play with more than 2 players? If so, I recommend Armageddon and Neptun as great, highly underrated hidden gems. Armageddon is unique because you bid in auctions with your workers, but you also need them for worker placement! This makes for lots of interesting decisions every turn. Neptun is great because it combines many mechanisms I usually don’t like into one fun game, such as press your luck, programming, point to point movement and simultaneous action selection.
@@boardgamecourt Nice. I think Mini Rails is superior. I sold my copy of Mini Express but still pull out Mini Rails after all these years to teach people and everyone loves it. Hopefully, you can get your hands on it!
Very good list. Uncovered many I had not heard of.
Thank you for watching our video. We hope you have the chance to try some of them and like them as much as we do!
You both are a joy to watch!
Thank you so much!
Great list!
Lots of hidden gems. Pocket Master Builder is a whole lot of game in a little box 😃
Keep up the great work 😃
Thank you so much! We are happy to share our love!
what are the cons of Pocket Master Builder? beside bad translation rulebook

@@boardgamecourt is this game better at 2 player or solo?
We have only tried at 2p.
The best video ever !!!! I am so proud for you two !
Thank you George!! 😊
Awesome video guys! Only played 8 and 9, and they're so much fun! I would love to try 1! Keep up the great content! 😺
Joan of Arc: Orleans Draw and Write is one of our favourite x-and-write games for sure! So simple but fun and a good reimplementation of Orleans.
I have been enjoying your videos so much! You're a Top 5 boardgaming channel in my opinion :)
Oh, wow! Now, that is a compliment...!
But, wait, who else is there? :-) Only to make sure that we can do better! Hahahaha

Try these 2 2p games:
1. Tak
2. Mr Jack Pocket
And these multiplayer games
1. Game of Thrones - hand of king
2. OTYS
Nice video. I thought you might mention Art Robbery. Another hidden gem from the Dr with the bow tie is Kariba.
Sir, you guessed correctly! Kariba is great too! Reiner has so many fun games. Maybe we should do a video about him???...
Nice list guys, some economic gems there as well. Ground floor is one of my favs
We also noticed that Rise made your top 10 of games you played last year!
@@boardgamecourt Rise is such a good game, some would say a hidden gem! Needs more love in the hobby
Fleet commander Genesis- no one ever talks about this game. Very good! Crossing is a fun party game. The Phoenix Syndicate is also a fun one.

I do like sci fi. But also enjoy other genres as well.

We play possibly 80-90% at 2p. However, both of your suggestions look very good and we will keep an eye out for an opportunity to play them!
I would love to send you a copy of Haze Islands, my own small box design from 2016. A very hidden gem.
Hiya - email us at boardgamecourt@gmail.com :-)
@@boardgamecourtThanks, I will.
I will email today.
Mini Rails and Perspectives
We actually have Mini Express, the successor of Mini Rails, in our wishlist and we hope to be able to get our hands on a copy soon!
@@boardgamecourt Nice. I think Mini Rails is superior. I sold my copy of Mini Express but still pull out Mini Rails after all these years to teach people and everyone loves it. Hopefully, you can get your hands on it!
A hidden gem I just discovered is Orongo by Reiner Knizia. It’s OOP. Hopefully it gets a new edition some day like lots of his older good games. 🤞🏼
This looks actually very interesting! Let's hope for a reprint as the second-hand copies cost a lot!!!
