Picked up a couple mk project cabinets. Will be my first time with working on mk stuff. Have been watching your videos in preparation for when I source these boards. Hope to see more from you soon! Subscribed!
I'm highly intimidated by arcade boards lol. They're so expensive and becoming more rare. I only own one, currently. I have an MK4 in an Arcade1Up since emulation of that game sucks. I noticed in the manual, it shows an option to change the attract mode volume but mine doesn't have that option. I've got revision 3 running, any idea why I wouldn't have that option? I had planned to make the trip to your arcade this year but Covid really messed that up. I'll definitely be there next year, I was just looking at the map again planning the trip.
I had something like this with a Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting board, except the board was dead you would hear the odd sound but nothing on screen, turned out to be 5 bad traces on the Motherboard A, really hard to see with the naked eye I had to use a strong eye glass to see the breaks lucky capcom also put a good chunk of solder points on their traces so using jumper wires I was able to fix it, not surprised they broke the traces are ridiculously fine, a good multimeter is your friend on repairs like this.
If there are bad graphics chips, how would I go about getting replacements? Also, if the graphics work but then start showing glitches, what could be the issue? Cold solder joints?
Heya! I've been lurking for some time and I always enjoy your contents! Congratulations! Let me ask you this... Do you happen to sell these boards as well? If so, would you help a fellow MK2 lover from way abroad? :) Thx!
@@YourMKArcadeSource awesome! Do you have a more direct way for reaching out to you, like Instragram or whatever else, just in case I want to "nudge" you from time to time in hope you have one? :) Thx again!
Hi Mameman. I would need to replace the cmos related battery on my MK2 board. Is that just a simple swap of batteries or is any other maintenance required? thanks
Sorry MK to hit you up on this video but I don’t know which video is best. Do you have any recommendations for the replacement speakers for these Midway cabs? I bought some nice car audio speakers on AMAZON but they just sound mehhhhhhh …. Don’t know if the speakers are overpowered for what these systems can put out, maybe better to scale back and get cheaper less heavy duty speakers. Took out the old torn 3” and 6” speakers from my T2 and restoring a MK2 cab. Any suggestions on speaker replacements would be a godsend. Thank you sir.
Hi, I have a Killer Instinct board that has I guess you call a Flex problem. It plays fine if I take one screw out on the bottom corner of the board to flex the board a little by putting a folded wash cloth behind it.. But when I take the wash cloth out to make the board flat it boots up only on a white static screen and does nothing? Is there anything I can do with this issues because the board still has life in it but I don't know where to start to fix this. Have you heard of this problem before or know how to fix this? I can ship it to you if you have time. Please let me know, thanks! :)
@@YourMKArcadeSource thank you for a quick response. And sorry to bother again. Since I've got you here, if I replace it and still a problem, what defectivness would a bad oscillator detail? (On the sound board)
Hey mate, I have a question, and Outworld said you might be the guy to ask, so, Do you know what is changed between MK2 R3.0 and 3.1? Aside from the version number of course. Apparently Roms UG12 and UJ12 are different, but I don't even know what those ROM's are for, I'd guess at interleaved graphics data, but even then, I wouldn't have a clue as to what graphics data had changed. Any help would be awesome. Thanks in advance.
Correct. UG12 and UJ12 are the two program roms that contain the revision data. They are the only ones that get changed out from change to change. There’s no published listing for differences between 3.0 and 3.1, so j can’t say.
@@YourMKArcadeSource no probs dude, didn't know if you'd noticed any differences yourself, but to my casual eye, they're identical in all but revision number. Thanks anyway.
Can't wait until you to figure out what's causing the other board to reset. I have a spare MKII that keeps resetting and would great if your solution works for me lol

Love these videos. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for sharing this troubleshooting. As our games get older, it's great to have references like this
Nice video! Nice to see you’re still doing all right!

My MK2 was working fine. I hadn't played in awhile and now I get nothing. Do you offer service?
Do basic cleaning check wires etc
My sound plays the wrong sound. Bad checksums on tests. But wrong sound??? Any ideas?
Last time I had an issue like that, it was a bad ribbon cable.

I can’t say for sure but I don’t think it would cause incorrect sounds. Would either be no sounds or distortion.
