Dior Homme Older Version (Discussion)

Hello Guys, how are you doing? I recently bought the older version of Dior Homme, which I reviewed but never bought before. I am discussing why I got it(2017 batch), and if you should get it now, there is a 2020 version which smells very different than the older version. I also discussed some posible replacements or this gem which sort of changed the fragrance trend from strong masculine powerhouses to metrosexual culture with waxy lipsticky iris.

I have a back up bottle of 2016 Homme. It's my favorite in hot climate. Probably my favorite Dior of all time.

I started getting into fragrances about a year ago and the Dior Homme line is my jam. I got super lucky and picked up a 50ml of Dior Homme 2005. The 2005 has this amazing extra depth that the 2011 reformulation does not. But since I didn't want to go through my 2005 bottle quickly I went ahead and picked up a 2017 Dior Homme and it smells amazing as well. Picked up a 2016 Dior Intense and that one is my favorite so far. When I heard that 2011 formulation of Dior Homme was to no longer to be sold in the USA I went ahead and picked up a bottle of Dior Homme 2020 rather than the original because I realized all good things do come to an end and I wanted to try the new modern interpretation of Dior Homme. I am gonna start wearing my 2005 bottle a lot more often. It still smells amazing for a 15+ year old bottle but will it still smell just amazing in another year or two? I rather not waste it. It's meant to be worn. 2020 Dior Homme smells damn good and lasts 9 hrs on me. Yes it lacks all the sophistication but it does smell great (wearing it right now) and I've gotten more compliments from the 2020 than all the others combined.

Wait, Joy, are you saying some of 2017 bottles have the same formula as the 2005 formula? I just got super excited because I just purchased a pristine 1.7 oz with a 7W01 batch code, just 3 months after your bottle. I’m also waiting on a 5 oz of intense and I’m gonna pick up a bottle of Homme original- many say it smells just like the 2011.

When you talk about Dior Homme 'Eau' is that the same as 'Dior Homme' or a different fragrance? I assume its the same just with the reference to 'Eau' referring to it being an 'Eau de Toilette'.

It’s a different fragrance. It’s a fresher and lighter version of Homme.

My favorite fragrance is Dior Homme Intense until I got Aaron Terence Hughes Homme . It is everything good about DHI but better. This is an unreal fragrance. I can’t wait till everyone tries this.

If you want to save money and get something similar to Dior Homme, buy Zara 9.0 and spray heavy. Compliment beast.
