Considering that Green Day's Dookie was the #2 selling album in 1994, Sleep must've appeared to most people like they were From Beyond - also Shout Out for the Upload
I'd give anything to see Sleep with Chris on drums. It would be the equivalent to seeing the og lineup of Sabbath. I have a feeling I will never get that chance.
This is an awesome view of an early version of Dopesmoker. As well as showing how tight sleep were at the time. Cant beleive it wasnt on youtube by now.
I’ve been trying to get his 90s bass tone forever now because it’s so thick and chunky, I’ve got a gt120mv and I slam the front of it with a dod 250, it’s pretty close y’all
Thats pretty much what he used lol, i know thats half of what he used in Om (he used two Matamps and one of them had a boss DS1 infront and the other the DOD). His exact settings are probably difficult to find though.
I do not, but my boy Joe Fazzio (Superjoint Ritual/Hank III drummer) went to that gig. He told me about it the next next day when I was hanging out in Stressball's jam room w/ him at the Green Warehouse. He was drumming for Stressball at the time, & we (Apostasy) practiced next door. I remember him describing Sleep's drummer: "He reminded me of Animal from The Muppets!" He said they were killer.
Holy cow - I was at this show! To this day still the absolute heaviest concert I've ever attended. Domination through amplification!

Yeah Chris retired from music in 2009 so he can raise his family, this is pretty much the closest thing we’re going to get lol
True musical gem... Such a talent mixed with vibe and passion. Follow the smoke!
Ps. Michaś, Kocham Cię Brat :) follow the smoke towards the riff filled land...
I’ve been looking for this version of ‘from beyond’ for so long. It used to be on UA-cam titled ‘from beyond live in buffalo’. Thanks for the upload!
My pleasure. That's one of my favorite songs they ever made. :)
god damn i love sleep
Headbanging in my room with the volume maxed! LETS GO!
Listening to this on my phone. My phone has now grown huge nads.

My dream amp is a Green gt120. Jam on 🤘🏼

I was at this show. I believe Scorn played as well? And maybe O.L.D.?
I'm really not sure who else played, but what a crazy/cool lineup that is!
I love you
Always thought this old version of Dopesmoker is best. I wish they could still play it like that. Or at least fit some of it into the long ass song
The space lyrics are pretty cool too
You think so? I don't really dig the wizard of oz-ish bouncy vocal delivery in this version. The later version is way, way heavier and more unique.
Did an amp blow out at the end of Dopesmoker?
sounded like it. "we need to borrow a head" like a tube blew up or smth
You must have the 1994 show at Howlin' Wolf in New Orleans

@@JasonPizzolato Hahahahahha yeah, Chris Hakius had an afro back in the day
@@fekdaleo I think Joe said he was wearing that lil hat on his head, too. I'm sure you know the one! 😂
thank you for uploading this
