The language hindi/urdu derived from arabic, farsi, pashto. Which is why urdu has a lot of words that are similar to arabic, farsi, and pashto. You should listen to some of the old school indian singers they know a lot about the language and where it originated. It was used as a language for trade since these four groups didn't know hwo to communicate. They formulated a language that would make it easy for them to communicate with and that was HINDI or URDU if ur from pakistan. :)
