I didn’t imagine them that way either, but it’s not that big of a stretch. The shape of the head/back plate and the spines do look pretty lizardy. And the way their shoulders move when you turn the gear is literally how lizards’ legs work.
Truly. I was thinking maybe it’s just nostalgia but honestly I have nostalgia for all those old BIONICLEs, but the Rahkshi were just so well designed. The lizard/snake-like body, the predator split jaws on the mouth, the spikes on the spine, the spear as a weapon… it’s pure gold. SO iconic.
Idc if the sets were multiple hundreds of dollars; if Lego put out throwback bionicle sets with this level of detail, creativity, and quality, I’d buy every single one of them.
I wish they’d do like advance statues of Bionicle figures. Best way I can explain this is you have the toy version. It can take a beating. The statue version is a bit more delicate and isn't a toy but has way more detail, way more complex and made for older more experienced Lego and technic crowds.
@@adtrlthegamer7449 Yeah. Bionicles that are more detailed and intricate and made for collectors. I'm imaginging a more detailed Takanuva from the first film and can see an eye watering price tag but it'd look so good.
Honestly, I'd just love for even the original Bionicle to make a return at some point. I lost my entire collection do to a fire, and trying to buy them again, will cost me an arm and a leg..
Honestly, if Bionicle came back, your mix of bionicle and "normal" parts is how I'd want it. The pure Technic/Constraction designs of official bionicles always feel unfinished because there's inevitably holes that you don't use. The System bits cover it up very well!
@@BackflipBrickfilms I think they're saying that these take a lot more pieces to make than "normal" bionicles and would cost a lot due to the very high piece count.

HELL YES ANOTHER MITCHBUILDS VIDEO Edit: I wish you could have managed to put a Kraata in there but it’s still beautiful! You should do a bohrok next!!!
Your Channel is easily one of my favorites on UA-cam, everything about it is amazing. It reminds me of a lego version of North of the Border while still being its own thing. Keep up the good work man.
I just wanna say I love your channel so much! I just finished my first year of college and your videos have been more than helpful with giving me something to focus on when things got stressful. Congratulations on the sponsor and I can’t wait to see what you do next!!
Man, you really did all the important features justice. The spines, the split faceplate, the KNEES. Just imagine if you managed to fit a kraata somewhere in there, then it'd really be definitive.
This straight up looks like it came out of the Mask of Light movie, it's absolutely gorgeous!~ Bionicle was my childhood and you've given me such a nostalgia boost that I didn't know I needed today. Keep up the fantastic work, you just earned a new subscriber!
Man you put actual LEGO sets to shame with your builds; the level of detail is insane. You really captured that “bio-mechanical” look. Reminds of a xenomorph kinda.
This is a lore accurate representation of how I tought my Rahkshis looked like when I was a child, playing with them. Thank you for this video. Amazing job :D
Oooooooo, oh I smile at seeing this creation. I vaguelly remember my first ever Bionicle set being the brown rahkshi, and seeing this amazing MOC is impressive.
The Rahkshi were my first Bionicle. My father, who passed away a few years ago, bought me Turahk and I couldn't help but collect all 6. They will always have a special place in my heart. The redesign you have done is incredible. I'm wondering: could you make a detailed list of the parts used? On bricklink or a similar site. I would LOVE to replicate your design, and I wouldn't mind paying for it. Perhaps it is an additional way to monetize your creations. Greetings and keep it up!
Mitch PLEASE do a reimagining of a bionicle visorak. Those were always the most intimidating and badass bionicles growing up for me I think they deserve an upgrade with your interpretation of them!
You finally got a sponsor I’m so happy to see this because I remember when I thought you would get a sponsor every video (which you deserved) because of those high quality builds and the videos are just so great keep it up and I will watch every video
That is a very solid redesign! Wouldn't mind watching you take on the different Toa that have been around through the ages either. Giving each of them some more personality
The brown Rahkshi was a gift I got in the early 2000's and the first Bionicle I ever saw. That one sparked an obession with the franchise that outlasted it by a country mile and persists to this day. Awesome to see it get such an amazing revamp! Edit: if you ever plan on making a Piraka revamp, that would be dope. Definately my favourite generation of Bionicle.
Yes!! this build is soooo fracking sweet!! I've watched a few of Mitchbuilds videos and in my opinion his only skill crutch is using the original masks of the characters he reimages. again only my opinion as the iconic masks are what make bionicles easily recognizable, but this! this is pure creative gold!
yeah that looks sick, well done. Only thing i think could have been added is something to cap off the spine, right now it just kinda ends and looks like there is something more that was supposed to be there
I really love your videos and the style of your creations! It's great posting just the building process without a part list, as it allows us to carefully follow along with the video to build your creation, learn, and feel the skills and parts involved using Studio. Also, a small suggestion: some building steps in the video are so quick that they are hard to follow.
This is awesome, kudos for creating such a detailed build while staying true to the original design. Only thing missing is that it needs a place for the iconic Kraata to be held in the spine.
Maaaaan, I use to have so many Bionicles when I was a kid, I totally forgot about them, and somehow your video was recommended to me. Thanks for the nostalgia
That is uncanny how similar the head shape and mouth look to the Mask of Light film, I can remember growing up sort of just having to imagine it as it was impossible to make a movie accurate head with the parts selection back then. Great job!
This is possibly my favourite build of yours so far! I've had the rahkshi head in my collection since I was a little kid :) I never could find the full model's parts sadly, but seeing you create such an amazing interpretation brings me so much joy! Beautiful as always!!
By FAR my most favorite Bionicle villain type 🤩, and let me say, you've done this an absolute justice and then some! Let's be honest, the Toa Nuva would have stood NO chance against this beasty boy 😈 What I wouldn't give to see a full lineup of all 6 of them!
@@MitchBuilds I should have asked in my initial comment, but how much inspiration did you get from the Bionicle: Mask of Light movie? This looks like a pretty spot on build of the movie version of the Rahkshi! 💯
I used to think that I loved the Rahkshi the most from nostalgia, but then I realized I have nostalgia for all those old Bionicle sets. The Rahkshi simply had the best design. The spikes on the spine, the three part separating jaw reminiscent of Predator, the lizard/snake like body, the spear-like weapons, and last but certainly not least, the fact that the actual living piece is simply a slug like creature just controlling the Rahkshi body. Pure gold. A genius, SUPER iconic design. They actually used to scare me too like they have a real threatening factor to them. I like how they’re more animalistic than the rest of the bionicles
I would have thought the ankles would need more support, but it seems to have worked well. I guess that's what the friction extenders are for? I also love how the extra teeth assemblies mean the head can split open, like they did in the Mask of Light movie.
Wow, I love how menacing it looks and the armor pieces on the arms and legs. What you did with the spine and how those plate pieces interlock is awesome to look at.
