You missed my point, atlas. What I'm saying is that our politicians may as well be living in a different country if they are not subject to our laws. It is misguided to refer to them as our "Representatives" since they are completely alien to our way of life. The political landscape of Washington D.C. may as well be a foreign land.
its was never a town for public service. It was built as a town of political power at it center! it was always a center of power and money. if just get worst every day!!
There's hundreds of senators & congressmen that can affect legislation, and local elections affect this. The guy at the top doesn't call all the shots, and there's plenty that can be done to get real change in policies regardless of the president.
I understood your point, i just disagree with premise that they are different from most Americans, they personify everything modern America stands for from the way they skirt the law to the fact they look for an easy way to get someone else's money, your looking at them and saying they are different just because what they get away with is bigger crimes, and that's how most people think about it, it's okay if it's just a little crime, but every little cancer grows in to a big politician.
Hmmmm.... do I want a blueberry bagel or a cranberry bagel. Either way, I'm picking a bagel. It's the illusion of choice. "None of the above" would win many elections if that meant a new election with a completely different set of candidates.
he did say theoretically, which would lead me to believe that he didn't believe that to be the truth of it. I;m not sure the US gov was ever self-less personally, but his comments don't make me wanna go rage lol.
So the people in Washington have made special laws for themselves, as any one who believes they are entitled to be treated differently then someone else will, so i guess you don't think people support laws that make you special if you are of a certain race/gender/income/profession?, but those are the only laws people support so why wouldn't the one's making them make the most for themselves it's only logical, you just sound jealous of them you didn't actually say benefits are wrong.
Kudos for the shout out to my senator.
"This town needs an enema!" Jack Nicholson as The Joker. I think he was talking about DC.
You can't,"Shame" people who are absolutely Shameless...
Agreed, LibertyDownUnder. (great comment, btw) It's certainly time to see some of that.

No problem. It's in the book “Presidential Perks Gone Royal” Keith Gray or you can Google it. Several publications have covered it.
the interviewer should have let Leibovich talk. He bizarrely uses Leibovich as a prop to cue his own stories.
An alligator will grow to the size in proportion to his environment.

There are only two times when Obama is not lying. 1) When his lips are not moving 2) When the Microphone is turned off.
I think he was talking about Gotham. But that it also applies to Washington DC.

I'm disgusted too, but could you provide a source? Statistics can say anything you know. How the figures were calculated means a lot.
Yea but not to the extent it is today. It keeps getting worse & worse & worse & worse.

No criticism of VOTER APATHY in all that?
A bit lacking, I say.
Who are the big status players in the District of Criminals? Fuck if I care.
