Halep-Stephens and Badosa-Azarenka matches were really incredible
I remember watching that Badosa-Azarenka match. What an incredible time hahaha. Like they were both displaying top-level tennis and kept overcoming very adverse situations. Probably one of the most equal finals in recent times huh
Bertens saved a championship point in the Cincinnati final and it was a thriller in the 2nd set.. I think it deserved better than #13
Had she been consistent Stephens has the ability to be one of Halep's toughest opponents. Even the French Open final of that year (2018) which Halep won was pretty much head to head.

Bummer we didn’t get to see radwanska in this video. Her matches against Maria and Venus and other players in WTA1000 finals were iconic.
Aga has second most wins in WTA-1000 events, Azarenka took the lead this year.
Honestly I forgot how agressive Kerber hit the ball when playing well, so flat with so much angle and penetration on the ball

Kvitova vs Bertens was number 1 for me. Kvitova hit so many big shots.

This video is just depressing and puts into perspective the dreadful state that the WTA has been in the past 5 years. So many abysmal quality finals, so many demolitions, retirements, random names and so many different winners.
I really hope we will get another golden age soon like 1999-2005 or the most recent renaissance of 2012-2013.
I think we could have had that level of top 10players and consistency if 1. Osaka and andreescu have been healthy 2. Covid didn't happened ( which i think rybakina should have been a slam winner about a yr ago) 3. Barty didn't retire

Imo if Barty didn’t retire and if Andreescu and Osaka stayed healthy of injuries there would be more consistency and iga would have competition.

@@joaouniverse237 U can’t deny the fact that she was one of the best if not the best player the past 5years. And during that period she was 100% clean. And the fact that Simona says she did not knowingly use any drugs, and that many other players and coaches believe her shows that she never would’ve taken them on purpose. And btw she doesn’t even need to bc her career is already hall of fame worthy. Period

Not quite sure how you decided to pick tournaments before 2021 because that was when premiere mandatory and premiere 5 tournaments were renamed. You only go back to 2018 because there were premiere mandatory and premiere 5 going back to 2009 and before that they were tier 1 tournaments. So how did you decide to have 2018 as the starting point and not 2017 or 2016 or 2015 or so on…. 🤷♂️
